It’s another day, here at the CatBox and my kitty but is trying to recover from Infernal Revenue Day.  The weather was so warm last night that the natives were restless and made lots of noise.  I slept poorly.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:25 (average 5:30).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Vox Channel): Why you keep using Facebook, even if you hate it

With Facebook, the only way to win is not to play! Unplug! RESIST!!

From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): People on Fox News are directly advising Trump through the TV

Trump is a propagandist, who has come to believe the propaganda himself.  ARGH!! RESIST!!

From MSNBC: Senator Merkley responds to Trump tirade

Senator Jeff Merkley responds to President Trump’s diatribe about the FBI raid of his personal attorney as well as Trump’s vow to use forceful action against Syria.

Jeff’s views are astute, and I’m proud to say that they mirror my own. Oregon leads the way. RESIST!!

From Snopes: In the aftermath of a deadly high school school [sic] mass shooting in Parkland, Florida in February 2018, some commentators verbally attacked a group of students who survived the mass shooting and became leaders in the anti-gun violence #NeverAgain movement.

Ted Nugent, the pro-gun rights, right-wing rock musician, denounced the teen activists, including Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, saying they have “no soul” and calling them “mushy-brained children.” Fox News host Laura Ingraham apologized to Hogg after mocking him for “whining” about not get into several colleges — a tweet that prompted several advertisers to withdraw their support from Ingraham’s show.

And in March 2018, conservative radio and television personality Jamie Allman mused on Twitter about sodomizing Hogg with a “hot poker”

Nugent is an NRA Board Member. Behold the love of Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians, the polar opposite of authentic Christians.  RESIST!!

Vox – The Network Effect indeed. I admit to using the network effect, but not through Facebook (not Twitter nor any of those other sites that come up when people think of “social media” (which does not include Care2 or Daily Kos.  Or Politics Plus. Yet.) I do still have a profile on LinkedIn, which I created when I was being laid off and was looking for another job. But I am down to two people I care about, and one of them has his own blog, which I use instead of LinkedIn. The other has hs own website, but does put updates on Linked in. I’ll probably move to his website soon. It is tough to get off of LinkedIn, though.

Fox – Dear God. The stupid leading the stupid leading the helpless.

Jeff – Can’t see this video and can’t find it elsewhere, but I probably don’t need to see it to know Jeff is a national treasure.

Snopes – I understand Jamie Allman has been fired. Good.

Cartoon – If they are still banned, you might better be careful with your signature chili.

  2. Vox: The best way to beat an addiction is don’t start in the first place! I used to feel left out since I don’t have a Facebook account, but every day I am happier that I made the decision to steer clear of FB.

MMC: These guys sound a lot like armchair generals or Monday morning quarterbacks. Armchair presidents?

Snopes: Why am I not surprised that reich-wing stooges of the Nazis Ruling America have said such callous things about the Parkland survivors? Ted Nugent is a slime who gives gun owners a rotten image.

Cartoon: Now if only the ban was worldwide AND strictly enforced.

  3. VOX: I’ll pass this info along. I haven’t listened to Zuckerberg testifying before the joint Senate hearing as I’ve been busy with other stuff today.

MM: Oh, Good Grief, how asinine!!

MSNBC: dt’s body language speaks volumes, a lying, and deceitful man(?) imho Wish we could clone Mr. Merkley, spot on!! remarks!

Snopes: Vile and evil people, Allman & Nugent. What’s really scary about this, is that people listen to them!

Cartoon: One can only envision if it were not!!

Cali has had hot weather already, must be going up the Pacific Coastline, and it’s not even summer. Here it’s only in the low 70’s. Shame you don’t have something to muffle the nightly noise. Enjoy your evening, take care, and Thanks, Tom.

  4. Vox: I don’t need to hate Facebook, I’m not on it and never was. And I’m sure am glad I resisted friend’s encouragement to join it because it would be so much easier to reach me. I’ll stick to good old email for that.

MM: The most scary thing about this is realizing that the man occupying a position perceived as one of the most powerful in the world has no relevant thoughts, let alone vision, of his own and who is incapable of holding such a thought in his head for more than a day, is watching this every day to be instructed what to think and do. America isn’t run by a Congress, a President and an administration, but by a handful of Rupert Murdoch’s sock-puppet presenters and pundits on Faux News. ??

MSNBC: Jeff Merkley puts it very well: Drumpf is in a worse frame of mind than ever, is now advised by Bolton who sees a war as the only answer to any conflict and Congress is divided over their own constitutional responsibility in cases like that. If the Senate doesn’t get more than those 40+ senators together to demand Congressional approval, Drumpf may in time take the US to war in Syria. But for now, the fact that he’s still only “threatening” Syria and Russia while well beyond the 48 hours he gave himself to come up with a plan, is probably dictated by the time the Russians, and Assad?, need to get everyone out of the way again before Drumpf sends in some missiles, just like last year. He’d love to start a war with “beast” Assad, but for now can’t afford a fall-out with boss Putin, not even with the aid offered by Great-Britain and France.

Snopes: Allman was forced to resign, but Laura Ingraham only took a week of leave and is probably back spouting the same garbage about the leaders in #NeverAgain movement. Nugent is well protected by his membership of the NRA board. More social pressure is needed to give Ingraham and Nugent their due.

Cartoon: You do know that the US hasn’t destroyed all of their chemical weapons either, don’t you?

If the IRS doesn’t get any tax-money out of you, they apparently take it in kind by attacking your health. Try to get some sleep, and don’t let anything bother you, TomCat.

  5. Thanks all.  Pooped poop hugs! 19

  6. Y/T vox: No. I’m not going anywhere in regard to Facebook, never been there, never going there!
Y/T MMC: Faux News is a s**thole, and tDump has crawled in, loves living there.
Snopes: When Allman left the building was there a glowing bulge in the seat of his pants?
