Blowhard Donald Trump was out bloviating his usual bile and bilge when he boisterously told his supporters:
“If I’ve ever – EVER – lied to you during my campaign, may God strike me down with lightning!”

What if I posted it from my own hard drive, rather than use WordPress' "Add Media" –> Internet –> URL.
A copy from my hard drive file would just be in the WordPress library thing from my own personal upload – no linking.
Would that work? (Also sending email w/ the same since I'm not sure what you'll check first)

No – no copy created. It's just a link to an URL
I even double checked the Media Library – only holds ones that have been uploaded.
I've uploaded things I had stored on my hard drive in media.
