Were this to happen in any other state Than Texas … or North Carolina … or Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, or other states, where Republicans lied their way into complete control, I might believe this is the individual officers’ doing, and perhaps it is anyway.  But in those states where the primary Republican emphasis has not been the promised jobs, but has centered on what goes on between women’s legs, the following crimes fit the Republican pattern.

7republicans-in-your-vaginaA pair of videos posted online show police probing the genitals and anal regions of three women they claim to suspect of possessing marijuana. In one video, a woman is seen bent over and grimacing as an off camera police officer conducts the search. Shortly before this search, a male officer explains to the woman that he is calling a female officer over “because I ain’t about to get up close and personal with your woman areas.”

The videos depict two vehicle stops, one for speeding and another for littering. In both videos, a male officer asks the women if they have any marijuana in the vehicle, suggesting that the purpose of their search is to find evidence of this drug. At one point, immediately before conducting her search of a woman’s genitals, a female officer warns the woman that if she “hid something in there, we’re going to find it.”

These searches almost certainly violate the Constitution. Although police do have broad latitude to search a vehicle when they have probable cause to believe that they will uncover contraband within, it is quite a stretch to extend these precedents to this most intimate of searches. As the Supreme Court explained in a 2009 decision regarding a student who was strip searched by school administrators, “both subjective and reasonable societal expectations of personal privacy support the treatment of such a search as categorically distinct, requiring distinct elements of justification on the part of school authorities for going beyond a search of outer clothing and belongings.”…

Here are the videos:

There was no justification for these searches.  “I smelled marijuana” is to police, as “The check is in the mail” is to deadbeats, or as “I’m telling the truth” is to Republicans.  These are acts of intimidation and humiliation that fit the war on women in Republican Regimes.  If, fact, given their disrespect for women and their privacy, perhaps the GOP should be renamed as the GOPP.

  1. This is DISGUSTING – avoid Texas!

  2. Not only is that disgusting AND an illegal search with NO probable cause, but at least on the video I watched the officer …

[1] Did NOT change gloves between the two searches

[2] Both times searched the anal region BEFORE the vaginal area.  Even little girls know you "Wipe FRONT to BACK" to avoid urinary tract infections

    • I noticed the same things.  One made the comment that she would sue them.  I hope she does and I hope she wins.

  3. This is totally sick shit and the ones doing it are even worse. I will NEVER go to Texas. Fuck texass and most of the imbeciles that live there.

  4. Utterly ridiculous!

  5. Totally disgusting!  I'd say only in Texas, but I am sure that would be an erroneous statement.

I hope the women sue and win!

  6. I don't understand why any woman would vote for republicans.  It must be the stockholm syndrome.

  7. I had all ready seen these videos, and am appalled and disgusted that this could happen anywhere in our country.  These police officers should all be fired and the women involved should be very rich by the time they get through suing the state.

This happened in Texas, but with the way our police departments are becoming militarized, it could probably happen anywhere now.  Our citizens need to become aware that we are losing our basic civil rights bit by bit, in the name of fighting terror.

  8. Since so many comments are so similar, and because I'm heat exhausted, I'll reply to all at once.

I'm noy trying to impugn Texas, but the Republican lack of respect for women.  Such humiliation could be policy wherever Republicans are in complete control of ther State police.

Not all police are evil.  I have known good and bad, but being evil is a big plus on the resume of one applying to enforce the whims of a Republican Reich.

    Kudos to Nameless!
