Yellen Over the Mice!

In my opinion, Obama’s worst appointees of his Presidency have been the Three Blind Mice: Ben “Bankster Boy” Bernanke, Larry “So Wrong” Summers, and “Timmy the Tool” Geithner.  He should have kept his economic team for campaign 2000, instead of adopting Hillary’s.  He could not make a bigger mistake than to pick either of the other two to replace Bankster Boy at the Fed.  Especially when he has an excellent alternative in Janet Yellen.

Whoever said "What you don’t know can’t hurt you" doesn’t know much about economics.  That goes double for the nomination of Lawrence Summers to head the Federal Reserve. For all the ink that’s been spilled on the topic, there’s at least one surprise ending people don’t seem to be considering.

Remember the last time Summers was strapped to a trial balloon and exposed to this kind of a public dart-throwing contest? It was back when Obama was searching for his first Treasury Secretary. There was a public outcry against Summers then, too, and guess what happened:

We got Tim Geithner instead.

I’m against the Summers nomination too, but as they say: Be careful what you wish for…

Chris Hayes compared Summers and Yellen, but he missed the possibility of Geithner.

You’ve already learned my opinion of hiring Summers: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Let me add my opinion of hiring Geithner: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! We already have one of the three blind mice at the Fed now. The last thing we need is either of the other two.

Yellen works for me, but if not her, here is how Obama should make that choice. He should say, "Lizzie, whom should I hire?" Then he should pick whomever Elizabeth Warren tells him to hire.

  1. You're right TC – Elizabeth Warren knows about finances and President Obama should listen to her.

  2. I'll be glad to stipulate that Larry Summers is a very, VERY intelligent man.  He's also an a$$hole who does not play well with others.

That plus his history of being big on deregulation makes Yellen the only viable choice.

  3. He really should ask Elizabeth Warren for her opinion.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree that Obama should get Elizabeth's opinion on who should do that job. She's completely unbiased and would reccommend someone who knows what their doing and cares about all the people ,not just Wall St. God knows Obama doesn't understand how the job works or he doesn't care. As many times as he's tried to give Summers different jobs I'm wondering what he must owe him?  Summers sure hasn't done anything for our country except almost completely bankrupt it along with Geitner, both Wall St buddies. Obama's 1st. four years were nothing but Wall St,. Bankers and Big business working with him, all trying a please the GOP and they still hate him. Now he needs to do something for the people who would of died for him 4 yrs. ago and help us for a change! Lets hope he gets the message while he still has time to leave with a good legacy, something the Middle Class can say he really was for the people of America and not just the wealthy!

  5.  He could not make a bigger mistake than to pick either of the other two to replace Bankster Boy at the Fed.  Especially when he has an excellent alternative in Janet Yellen.

It is time to pick from the list of women to fill these positions and with the advice of Senator Elizabeth Warren of course…. 🙂

  6. When Mr Obama came in as POTUS, he came in with a word "CHANGE".  And people have watched, and waited for the change, and waited, and waited, and waited, and . . .

Now is the time to make that change for the return of economic vibrancy and the middle class.  I agree that Summers and Geitner have already proven their ineptitude and whose side they are really on.

I'm, yellin' for Yellen!  And if that isn't sufficient, ask Lizzie!

    • I keep getting e mails that say we have no hope and we have no change.  I am starting to agree.

      • Edie, that reason you keep getting those emails is that Republicans hope you will react that way, so they financially support what they call "useful fools" on the left who are pushing that argument as part of a third party agenda.  Don't fall for it.

In spite of Republican obstruction, Obama and the Democrats have accomplished more change than any president since LBJ.

    • Thanks, Lynn!

  7. It appears that Yellen has better credentials for the job than any of the other possible candidates and that is usually who gets hired.  But Wait!  This is Washington we are talking about. How many jobs actually go to the most qualified instead of the most owed?
