Blunt trauma threatens the lives of many accident victims. It is also emblematic of the greatest threat to women’s health in the 21st century: Willard Romney and the Republican Party. When you hear that Romney supports contraception for women, don’t believe it. Romney openly advocated the Blunt Amendment, which would strip away women’s rights, and other draconian measures.
Overnight, a new advertisement for Mitt Romney popped up online unannounced, claiming that “Romney doesn’t oppose contraception at all. In fact, he thinks abortion should be an option in cases of rape, incest, or to save a mother’s life.”…
…The new ad is an overt attempt to frame the candidate as a moderate on women’s issues, as the Romney campaign has been attempting to do for the past week. But it covers up at least five of Romney’s most extreme positions on these issues — ones that any voter casting their ballot this election season deserves to know:
1) Romney supported the Blunt amendment. The Blunt Amendment would allow employers to deny contraception to their female employees because of religious [or moral] objections. That means any woman working for an employer who didn’t support contraception would be denied the right to have her birth control costs covered. When asked if he supported the amendment, Romney said, “Of course.”

Romnesia! I love it! The liars are so desperate to hide their positions from the American people that Sen. Kay Baily Hutchison lied about what the Blunt Amendment does. The Blunt Amendment has nothing to do with religious charities. It would have given any employer with a "moral objection" to contraception to block his employees’ insurance coverage.
We should also take note that Romney’s threat to women’s health is not limited to the US alone.
If Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate, Representative Paul Ryan, were to win next month’s election, the harm to women’s reproductive rights would extend far beyond the borders of the United States.
In this country, they would support the recriminalization of abortion with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and they would limit access to contraception and other services. But they have also promised to promote policies abroad that would affect millions of women in the world’s poorest countries, where lack of access to contraception, prenatal care and competent help at childbirth often results in serious illness and thousands of deaths yearly. And the wreckage would begin on Day 1 of a Romney administration.
Mr. Romney has pledged that, on his first day in the White House, he would reinstate the “global gag rule,” the odious restriction that has been used to deny federal money for family-planning work abroad to any organization that provided information, advice, referrals or services for legal abortion or supported the legalization of abortion, even using its own money.
Merely talking about abortion could cost groups not only federal money, but also useful technical support and American-donated supplies of contraceptives, including condoms for distribution in the communities they serve… [emphasis added]

It’s up to us to spread that word that Romney’s seeming moderation on women’s rights is pure deception. A Romney win would bring Blunt trauma to women all over the world.
