Yesterday the heat was severe and set of my COPD.  I got almost no sleep last night and feel far too wiped out to do the research needed for a slate of articles.  Therefore, this will be today’s only article.  I’m not current with replies, but will catch up ASAP, hopefully after getting some sleep.  Tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor way across town, and Tuesday I have physical therapy, so my posting will be intermittent at best until Wednesday.

Today’s tool me 4:02 (average 5:12).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From MoveOn: HILARIOUS! Bill Maher On Why Republicans Act Exactly Like 14-Year-Old Boys

Note: Jonathan Krohn, featured in the second clip in this video, actually renounced conservatism 4 years later! Source.

Maher said it all: If a 14 year old can deliver your message, you’re a child.

From TPM: A Republican state Senate candidate in Iowa has decided to bow out of the race and become a U.S. senator of an alternative form of government.

In a letter released Friday, Randi Shannon informs supporters of her new position as “U.S. Senator in the Republic of the United States of America.” You see, according to Shannon, the U.S. government has been acting unlawfully as the “‘official government,’ which clearly it is not!”

Now where did I store that tin-foil hat graphic? 🙄

From YouTube (Hat-Tip Phyllis): You’re So Bain!

Classic!

  1. 4:43  I will be near the bottom, if not at it, today.

  2. First – I hope you get to feelign better.  Here in KCMO we're facing a reprise of the 100+ heat this weak.

I've been thinking about Rmoney, and how it really sucks to be him right now.  (YIPPEE!)  And decided I'd try my hand at a pithy summary of what the FACTS are:

Until at least 2002 Romney signed his name to SEC documents  listing himself as "sole stockholder, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, President and Managing Director" – legal documents that carry criminal penalties if they are false
Romney does not dispute the fact that he owned the company, lock, stock and barrel
During that time we know that Romney was paid at least $100,000 salary.  You don’t get paid that kind of money for doing nothing.
We have no idea how much more he was paid, because he won’t release his tax returns.
Before he ran for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002, he swore under oath that he attended board meetings for Staples and Marriott – two Bain Companies during that period.Romney as CEO is responsible, like all CEOs, for what Bain did through 2002.
Romney NOW claims it took three years for Bain to change the name of its CEO on SEC documents (document that he swore to under penalty of perjury) so he could NOW say he “retroactively retired" (and I have NO IDEA what “retroactively retire” even means – but if Willard can do it, then I plan to “retroactively” buy 1,000 shares of Apple back in 2001 @ $22/per)
Hell, Bain would target a company, swoop in, scoop it up, divert all the cash to Bain executives, pick the bones, fire the employees, ship the job overseas and be gone in less time than that.
His story is (insert your favorite synonym for “bullshit”)

Let Romney whine all he wants.  The important truth is that Romney is the very paradigm of Wall Street’s arrogance and lack of accountability – which is largely responsible for destroying the US economy, and the American middle class, while preserving the gains of the rich at all costs.

  3. Puzzle — Well it looks like I leap frogged over Jerry with 4:06.  Don't sit idle on your lily pad too long or I will leap frog you too!

You're So Bain — Absolutely wonderful, creative and spot on!  The entire country needs to see this!  Thanks Phyllis!

Cartoon — Obviously red is Rmoney's favourite colour and not because he is a Republican/Teabagger.  Red is his favourite colour because he likes to bleed companies dry and then ship the jobs to the PRC.

TPM — Randi Shannon doesn't need a tin foil hat!  She needs a rubber room!  Sorry, but I think she might be a charter member of Psychos 'R Us.

MoveOn — So funny and I think so true!  Although I'm not so sure I'd give Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity or Fischer credit for being that old (14)!  As I listened, Bill Maher used the word 'ideology' but I heard it as 'idiotology' and had to go back and listen again.  I think the Republican/Teabagger idiotology has a better ring to it!

  4. TC, I hope you feel better soon, we miss you when you are not here.  I loved the Move-on clip and the one from U tube.  I am just afraid he will be able to "buy" the White House!  Kentucky will be voting for him because the coal companies have the coal miners and their families convinced that if Obama is re-elected they will all be unemployed.  What a quandary for conservatives, whether to vote for a black man or a Mormon!

  5. Wouldn't it be delish if Rmoney went down for his double-dealings with Bain?

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
