Yesterday was a crazy day.  In addition to the hours I spent trying to resolve the editor problem (no response from the author yet), I spent three more in chat with my ISP, because their DNS servers were not connecting to my HSP email accounts.  To make matters worse, the temperature at my desk reached 94°, and today will be worse.  I’m current on replies.  Tomorrow I have a monthly grocery delivery, and my bad shoulder will make unpacking and storing them more difficult than normal.  Still I plan to blog normally.

Today’s took me 3:46 (average 4:35).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From MoveOn: Here’s The Sad Story Of A Guy Who Believed The Bush Tax Cuts Were Going To Lead To Jobs

People who think so will look just like that before "Trickle Down" stops gushing up.

From Washington Post: Sen. John McCain said in an interview posted online Friday that “foreign money” was helping fellow Republican Mitt Romney’s presidential hopes and singled out one of his ally’s most generous supporters.

McCain, the GOP’s 2008 presidential nominee, suggested casino magnate Sheldon Adelson’s $10 million contribution to a pro-Romney super PAC was a conduit for Adelson to use profits from properties in Macau to shape American elections. McCain also criticized the Supreme Court ruling that allows individuals and corporations to make such unlimited donations to nominally independent political action committees.

Republicans are honest so infrequently, that it’s noteworthy when one tells the truth. Kudos.

From AP/Google: A Republican Wisconsin state senator asked Friday for a recount in the election that could hand Democrats their only victory in this month’s six recalls, and at least a temporary majority in the state Senate.

An official canvass this week showed incumbent Racine Republican Van Wanggaard trailing Democratic challenger John Lehman by 834 votes, or 1.2 percent of the nearly 72,000 votes cast.

Democrats had called on Wanggaard to concede, saying a recount would only waste taxpayer money and delay the inevitable. But Wanggaard’s campaign said it was concerned about reports of voting irregularities and wanted to ensure the outcome was accurate.

The law does not require a recount unless the difference is less than 1%.  If the totals were reversed, and the Democrat was asking, it would not happen.

  1. MoveOn — Ha!  The guy is either anorexic or he's been waiting too long for something that will never happen!  I favour the latter — waiting too long for the job creators.  Someone forgot to tell him he had to emmigrate to China!

John McCain — You may not agree with his politics, but you have to give him credit for telling the truth.  Wasn't it back during the 2008 election that McCain denounced a woman who referred to Mr Obama as a Kenyan and a Muslim?  And now, in one sweep, to denounce a particular super PAC recieving foreign funds and denounce the SCOTUS decision of Citizens United!  I wonder how long he will remain a card carrying Republican/Teabagger?  Wouldn't surprise me to see that the RNC or some other 'official', maybe even Rove or Norquist, demanded his GOP membership card.

Fitzwalkerstan aka Wisconsin — Yet another Republican/Teabagger cry baby!  Voting irregularities?  Get real Wanggaard!  Election fraud and irregularities are the mainstay of Republican/Teabaggers.  And voter fraud is all in the imagination of Republican/Teabaggers!  I agree that if the roles were reversed and the Democrats were asking for a recount, since the difference is more than 1%, there isn't a chance that the Republican/Teabaggers would allow it.

Cartoon — A momentous day for American prosperity!  Too bad that restrictions in the Glass–Steagall Act, which sought to separate deposit taking from riskier investment business, were repealed through the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999 by President Bill Clinton.  Dodd-Frank sought to amend that faux pas but it died in the Senate without, as I understand, even coming up for a vote.  Now with Jamie Dimon's new business model from hell, the world has reason to lament the self serving attitude of the banksters and Wall Street.  Here's a link to an Alternet.com article. http://www.alternet.org/economy/155862/how_jamie_dimon%27s_new_business_model_from_hell_could_take_down_wall_street_%E2%80%93_again_/

    • LOL!

He's too close to retirement for them to hassle him much.

      RiiiiIIIIIiiiight!

      I fully agree.

Lynn, try using a different browser.  I reformatted your comment.
