Yesterday the Republican Party held a primary in Missouri, and caucuses in Minnesota and Colorado.  They have one thing in common.  None of them count, because no delegates are awarded.  In Missouri, delegates will be awarded at caucuses to be held March 17.  Colorado’s delegates will be awarded at district conventions and a state convention in April.  Minnesota’s delegates will be awarded at district conventions in April and a state convention in May.  Yesterday’s shows were all winner take nothing.  As a result, the leading candidates have put little effort into these contests, leaving them, for the also rans, Santorum and Paul.

Rachel Maddow explains the mess.

The delegate count remains unchanged, but three states have been frothed.

If any of them wins the Presidency, YOU LOSE!

  1. This Clown Show is just too funny for words.

  2. What a luckluster showing by the GOP. But, we all benefit by their continued infighting.

  3. We better get Rocky Anderson on the ballots!

    • Rocky is great, but he’ll pull 2%, and that’s a generous estimate.  If he pulls 4%, it will be a miracle.  I’m sorry, but a vote for Rocky is a vote for the Republican.

  4. The MO  GOP faux primary[“nonbinding” ]cost the taxpayers of MO 7 million dollars. The same vote will be done again to “count” in March, costing taxpayers another 7 million dollars.

  5. Total repubicon Voter Turnout So Far is DOWN 13.1%!

Based on figures from Wikipedia for the 2008 Republican Primary/Caucus Results and those from the 2012 Republican Primary/Caucus Results, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Colorado all showed an increase.

But Florida (down 14%), Nevada (down 26%), Minnesota (down 24%) and Missouri (down 57%) produce a total turnout of 3,044,300 for 2012, versus 3,504,931 in 2008 for the same states at this point!
  6. $7 million for Missouri alone, and it did NOT count!?!

What a big exercise in spending money that could have been used for better things like healthcare, education, green energy — oh wait, those are not on the Republican/Teabagger agenda!

Well, I’m not sure that the states have been frothed since the results don’t count.  What I am wondering as a neophyte to this orgy of supposed power, will the results of this “election” be used at the conferences to determine the delegate count at the national convention in August?  Or was this just a dry run meaning nothing?

Barnum and Bailey could learn a thing or two from these clowns!

Whatever, you’re right TC when you say “If any of them wins the Presidency, YOU LOSE!”

    • You certainly have that right!  How delegates will be assigned in the conferences depends completely on what the Republican Party of those states want.  Minnesota and Colorado have the appearance of voters’ choice, but none of the substance,
