Heck, I could have told this. You probably could have also. If you ae depending on someone to keep a promise, just “in writing” isn’t enough. It has to be signed under oath, witness, and certified or notsrized by someone legally authorized to certify or notarized. And you, the person who is requiring it, are the person who gets yto keep the original = the signator may keep a copy only. That’s just for starters – I’m not trying to imply that Joyce’s explanation isn’t fuller – becuse it is.

On Saturday, Common Cause (commoncause dot org) emailed it mailing list (which includes me) to report that since the beginning of the year, they have tracked 149 bills in 38 states calling for an Article V convention. I knew there were numerous crazy people who want to use Article V to tear up the Constitution so they can replace it with an authoritarian document – but 38 states? That’s very unwelcome news. I didn’t put this up on Sunday so as not to contaminate the good news, and the link I provide is to their home page, but they may ask for a donation/ I am not asking. That’s up to you.
This week, Todd Blanche faces confirmation hearings for his nomination to Attorney General. Last Friday, Joyce Vance discussed the potential for these hearings with another former DOJ prosecutor – one who worked with Blanche when he was still sane.The link is to a Substack video, so there’s a transcript. If I had to summarize it, I would say that even after almost 2,000 years, no one still now why a disciple into a Judas (I would argue that it isn’t money – or at least not just money. There’s something else going on.)
And speaking of Todd Blanche, there’s this. Adam is a journalist who specializes in legal news – he’s not a lawyer himself, but a good number of lawyers rspect his judgment when he does proffer an opinion, which he doesn’t here. I personally am not panicking – but this doesn’t exactly help.

A black personin the public eye like this has everything to lose and nothing to gain from attacking physically or verbally a white person also in the public eye. God knows it can be tempting is the white person is a ritchbitch (not saying Clark is – I know zero about her.)
Yesterday, I guess we can be thankful that all the hair on fire about the housing bill and the USPS didn’t spread to forests or buildings. The Apricot Autocrat did not, as far as I have seen, did not say he would veto the housing bill; just that he would not sign it. I’m pretty sure that if he just doesn’t sign it (and provided Congress remains in session), it will automatically become law in ten days. Of course, Monkey Wrench Mikey knows that too and will have no prolem adjourning Congress just long enough. WRT mail in voting (and my state is one which has it for everyone), I was seriously thinking about, as soon as the primaries are over (which would be next Wednesday here), changing my registration to Republican. And then changed it back in November, after voting a straight Dem ticket. If every Democrat did that, it would be like “We are all Spartacus.” Or like MSgt Roddie Edmonds at Stalag IX-A “We are all Jews.” It has a history of working. The enemy may know what you are doing, but has no way of getting the desired information out of it. But then it occurred to me – as it should have sooner, since virtually everything I buy is ordered and shipped, that there are multiple – probably dozens, of small common carriers out there besides (and cheaper than) UPS and FedEx which could be used if and when USPS goes rogue. (And speaking of USPS, Benjamin Franklin is buried in Philadelphia – has anyone heard of any earthquakes there yet?
Like Robert Reich, I’m also seeing an increase in spam and phishing. Fortunately, so far, they are not coming in his name – a name I think we all trust. I will filter carefully anything I out into the blog. But I am not going to be around forever. Y’all who outlive me will need to know this.
