Personal Update – 4/7/2021

Yesterday was very busy here in the CatBox My video meeting with the Owners of Ivy Court was productive. They asked me several questions about my condition. They also gave me a virtual tour of the facility, including my room. I think I’m going to like it. They will puree my food to make it edible for me and serve my meals in my room. I’m hoping there will be more activities with other residents, but COVID is still a considerable issue. We hope they will give the vaccine to residents. I will have access to shower rooms. I think I’ll get one a week from Home Hospice Aides, one a week from Ivy Court staff, and 2 a week from WWWendy. Tomorrow afternoon I have a telephone Interview with the owner, so she can coordinate a treatment plan. Otherwise, plans are up in the air, except that Saturday is moving day. Prayers up, please! This morning, Windows Update grabbed my machine for three hours. I had the option to stop it, but I could not risk having to go through this in the middle of moving. Happy Hump Day.

It’s a lazy day here in the CatBox. Yesterday WWWendy and I did more move planning. Today I will spend resting as much as I can. Tomorrow WWWendy will destink the yucky TomCat and try to make me presentable for a zoom meeting with with the owner of Ivy Court Senior Living. I will get a virtual tour. I can ask her questions and she can ask me questions. I’m looking forward to it. On Wednesday, my job is to stay out of WWWendy’s way. She will meet the Comcast tech there, where he will install my Internet in duplicate. They will move me on Saturday or Sunday, probably the latter. Oh Joy, it’s Monday!

It’s a mixed day here in the CatBox. I plan to stay in bed early, resting as much as I can. WWWendy is coming at around 3:00 PM to destink the TomCat and prepare for the move. I’ll learn mire about the rest of the week when she gets here. Happy Easter to you all.

It’s an R and R day here in the CatBox. Yesterday my Republicosis was so bad that I spent the day in bed, sleeping as much as possible. Today is another day of rest in preparation for moving week. WWWendy is coming tomorrow to de-stink the rancid TomCat and do moving prep. I won’t know what time she’s coming until later today. Have a wonderful weekend!

Personal Update – 4/2/2021

It’s a very tired day here in the CatBox. Yesterday, WWWendy, the Providence Nurse and I discussed changes that moving will entail. Because Ivy Court is in a different Part of Town, I’ll have an entirely new Providence Hospice team: a new Nurse, Social Worker, Chaplain, etc. for the new location. That means I’ll need to go through the routine of meeting everyone again. My new tentative moving date is Saturday 4/10, so you guys will be holding down the fort for a few days. For me, today and Saturday will be R and R days. WWWendy will be coming Monday. Tuesday, WWWendy and I will have a Zoom meeting with the Manager of Ivy Court to answer questions and ease the transition process. After that, God help us! Prayers-up please! TGIF!!

It’s a BIG NEWS day, here in the CatBox. I’m still waiting for pics from WWWendy, but I have been accepted as a Resident of Ivy Court Senior Living in Clackamas, OR. It’s a mile from where WWWendy lives. Today’s schedule has changed. WWWendy and the Providence Hospice Nurse are coming instead of my Providence Shower Aides. Apparently WWWendy and the Nurse were in contact and the Nurse was helpful in arranging my placement, so my earlier dissatisfaction was an error due to ignorance on my part.

It’s a more contained day, here in the CatBox. I did not Republicate yesterday for the first time in ages, so I need to be careful not to overdo it the other way and find myself with OIC again. I had lots of good rest yesterday and plan more of the same for today. Tomorrow the Hospice Shower Aides are coming. After they leave, I can rest, because WWWendy is doing my grocery shopping this week and bringing the food Saturday, when she comes again on Saturday. Otherwise I’m waiting for news to pass along to you. Happy Hump Day!

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
