Yesterday, I overslept, even for me. Well, that happens.

From Colorado Public Radio. Sadly, it makes sense to me. A fast burning fire would probably be at a higher temprature – and accordingly, do more damage in less time. And that’s in addition to burning more area. Knowing this would, it seems to me at first glance, give us the opportunity to do some manual re-seeding to give the area a boost to re-grow, but the article doesn’t mention that, so there may be reasons why this would not work, or worse, would make the area even more vulnerable to climate change. The people working on this are not idiots.

I do realize how next to imposssible it is to get people who live in fantasy worlds to see reality. But we are able to know reality when we see it – and there’s some reality in this letter which we should all be aware of.

This from Drop Site News may well tell you more about what some call the Boatiac Murders than you ever wanted to know. Yes, apparently they are no longer happening around Venezuela, but around Ecuador. But still being done in our name with our money.

Oh, goody. Just what we needed – NOT. Where’s the international association to teach the our people how to spread democracy? Yes, it takes capital to start a news outlet – nut there are some patriotic millionaires – there’s even a group called that.

Yesterday, I saw Virgil and we played, you know, cribbage. The weather was good, and my air conditioner was working (Both ways, it waited until I got to my destination to ask me to turn it off please as the engine was starting to overheat. Both times I was happy to oblige. After getting home, I went through my email and, among other things, watched a Substack with Joyce vance and an old friend of hers, also a lawyer, who is suing to get Tommy Tuberville off the ballot for Governor on the grounds that he does not meet the [Alabama} Constitutional requirement to have resided in Alabama for seven years consecutively before the election. I wish Joyce’s friend a crushing victory. Alabama may not know it, but it really needs Doug Jones.

This is ridiculous. And atrocious I could go on, but I expect y’all can too.

Harry Litman of Talking Feds on the “investigation” of Governor Newsom

And these are who Stephen Miller and the rest of the regime want to let into the Us – The scum of the earth. Professional victims coming as “refugees.” Doong their best to poison our brains.

Happy Juneteenth, y’all! Yesterday, from a comment on Malcolm’s show: “Trump [sic] didn’t get his HEU (highly enriched uranium) but he did get HEI (highly enriched Iranians).” Jim Acosta, on the other hand, called the signing foreign policy flatulence – the fart (maybe even the shart) of the deal.

Robert Reich – is singing my song. Well, except that no one is trying to tell me to slow down, because no one sees the actual work, which mostly consists of goinf through hundreds of emails daily in order to select a few topics – and minimize the explainer part – and minimizing is harder than it looks. But if anyone did say something – I’d have basically the same response.

To quote Nina Simone – “Mississippi God Damn.” Yes, I do know there are good people in Mississippi – that’s proven right in this story by the witneses who are coming forward to dispute the police account. But still.

Glad to learn that someone is taking Tommy Potatohead to court over where he actually lived – as opposed to just owns the houae.

This is a little bonus for today – because it officially opens today – because of course it does – although the big party was yesterday.

Yesterday, the radio opera was “The Fairy Queen” by Purcell, which is an adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” recorded by an early music group in Utrecht, Netherlands. I streamed it – my local radio staion is now broadcasting the summer schedule, but they started a week late, so, if I don’t sream, I’ll miss the last one, and I don’t want to do that. However, The Fairy Queen is just over half the length of last week’s, so when The Fairy Queen ended, I switched over to the radio, just in time for the third and fourth acts. An also just in time for the static it was making earlier to have quieted down. So, the best of both worlds. And today, I’m off to see Virgil. As always, I’ll post a quick comment when I get back.

If you need a lift, and need to see Joe being Joe and apreciated for it, here’s a link to the North Carolina rally from Friday.

This is short, and simple.. Though about a complex issue, it makes it not to difficult to understand. And it’s good news, as far as it goes.

Remember the mayor elected in Alabama with an overwhelming majority, who couldn’t take office because the previous, unelected white mayor (who had not even bothered to run against him) would not turn over the keys? Well. Here’s the latest in that saga – and, hopefully, the last we’ll ever need to hear about it. Though I’m not holding my breath.

Yesterday was a bad back (and shoulder) day. I wasnt happy about it, but I had to admit I had earned it – assembling furniture, packing stuff up for charity, moving heavy stuff around. I thought I had paced it better, but I guess not. I used the TENS a full two hours, which helped. And today is an opera day (also a filling pill bottles for the next two weeks day) so I’ll make a point of resting physically, and ice if necessary.

This is what clean energy is all about – rechargeable batteries. Not the double A ones you probably use if you have a solar stake in your yard, but big ones. Really big ones.

Eric Adams is not my idea of the world’s greatest mayor – but I do like this. (And, if Trump** doesn’t hand his phone off to one of his attorneys before they take him, they will confiscate it, and there will be no Xeets from it. Not that i suppose the reception is all that great inside.)

Yesterday, another uneventful day for me. But not for a number of public figures, one in particular.

Mary Trump would like us non-lawyers all to calm down and take a deep breath. (I’d like that too. Things are bad enough without us interpreting anything we don’t like as a catastrophe. Whych is why I don’t report more on the Trump** trials.)

Now that i’m getting the Borowitz report again, I can share him. And this is a good one. There is only one female character in the Revelation of Saint John. And I can definitely see why he’d think of her.

I was concerned about this – we probably all were – I even included a Beau video (yesterday) discussing the possibility of a veto. Well, we didn’t.
