Yesterday was a pretty quiet day. I’m still fussing with yarn, which is not as boring to me s it is for y’all hearing about it – but it’s not terribly exciting either – which is probably a good thing.
There is a difference – a big one – between “revenge” or “getting even” on the one hand and “accountability” on the other. I don’t know why our party leadership finds it so difficult to see that.
MAGA as a political movement may die. But the fear of “the other,” from which racism, religious bigotry, and even sexism all derive, – that may never die. Certainly it won’t die as long as there are people willing to exploit it for personal gain.
When John Pavlovitz and The Lever have exactly the same reaction, I think that’s noteworthy. John’s letter is an open letter – there’s nothing for you to sign and send. There are numerous ways to share it with about two clicks, though. The Lever’s is a video series – or will be – I think there’s only a trailer right now. If you get a security warning, so do I – but refreshing the page gets me in.
