Yesterday, I filled out my ballot, which had arrived last week, but which I had not yet opened because the booklet on the Amendments and propositions was the size of a small town telephone book. It turned out to be easier for just othan I expected -many of them had clearly been written by MAGAts.  For just one example, there were two anti-trans propositions.

Robert Reich spells it out. Y’all probably don’t need it spelled out – but you probably know someone who does.

Michael Sellers calls his Substack “A Deeper Look,” and from this post alone – you can see why. He doesn’t mention that some or all of this decision is likely related to the attempt to destroy empathy (which so many in that camp consider to be our worst weakness) – but I do think that needs mentioning. I have seen films of staged (fake) executions by firing sqauds – it is how the tenor character in “Tosca” dies. The camera never focuses on it, but usually on Tosca watching (believing it fake.) I would never watch a real one of my own volition. BTW, the Orange Ogre  told Axios last week that this execution would not be atreamed.

Not what anyone wanted to hear. I note the shooter, now dead, was only 16. Clearly one doesn’t have to have reached any particular age to become infected by toxic masculinity. Not that this should surprise anyone.

Yesterday, I did some searching and saving of animal videos. As always, I ran short on cats compared to dogs. There are more dogs than cats in the US – but not in the proportions I was running short – it’s around 89 million dogs to 76 million cats. I had to dive into the Dodo’s “Cat Crazy” section to catch up. And I may have picked some which will be reruns. It’ll be a while before we get to that point, and I can stretch it out a bit farther by slipping some in which are neither dogs nor cats, but I thought I’ let y’all know we are moving toward that point. Also, Frank Figliuzzi, speaking of the Supreme Court, said: “I’m going to stop calling them the three liberal justices and start calling them the three sane justices.”

Yes, back to back Robert Reich. Both look forward to -hopefully – better days. This first article looks to what needs to be done once we manage to get a sane administration.

This second article looks to how badly our reputation with sane nations has been damaged – an how we are going to need to accept that, and not take it peraonally – because, frankly, they are correct in their assessment. Yes, it breaks my heart also.

Heather Cox Richardson – and the General Accounting Office – know precisely where the waste and fraud are in the current regime – and they are not in Medicare, Social Security, MedicAid, or any other program designed to help citizens who need help.

Yesterday, my inbox was packed even more than usual.
Somehow I managed to get it down – not completely, but at least manageable. By the time I scheduled this, I was seriously tired.

Archived from Axios because paywall. Yeah, it happened Tuesday. But though people talk frequwntly about the censure option, and we (Democrats) frequently recommend it to Republicans, it almost nnever happens. That it did now is noteworthy – and that rgw vote was 413 to 2 is breathtaking.

I’m not convinced that any of these people even know what a conflict of interest is, nor believes they even exist. Their position appears to be something like “No conflict of interest here. Everything I do is in my interest. No conflict there.” Fortunately, we have Elizabeth Warren (for now anyway) to ask the right questions to challenge that – not that the challenges are getting through to the willfully ignorant.

Anyone surprised? I didn’t think so. Of course, the people who need to see this are the Secretariesof State of each state.
