Pretty sure we can all agree there were plenty of Twitler lowlights while on his European tour, so to make covering them easier, I decided to take a gander at them chronologically.

Before he even landed at Stansted Airfield (a former military base that’s further out and not as busy as Heathrow or Gatwick – so less of a disruption), the Brits started trolling him.

A cheeky teenager named Ollie Nancarrow mowed what can only be called a dickish greeting of a POTUS Penis (but decidedly NOT Twitler’s) in a field in his landing flightpath at Stansted.

In another field also on the landing flightpath he mowed a polar bear and “Climate Change Is Real”.

And who can forget the throngs of adoring crowds that Trump claimed welcomed him?

Well, he is right that those huge crowds that formed were specifically for him – but they were all PROTESTORS!

So how about a Baker’s Dozen photos of them to get the flavor:

And to help Donny with his delusions, here’s what his ACTUAL arrival looked like crowd-wise when he was in “The Beast” (nickname of the president’s armored Cadillac) rolling on his way to Buckingham Palace:

And the trolling of Trump wasn’t just by protestors – there were laser lightshows, too.  One was a great USS John S McCain hat (minus any tarp) projected onto Madame Tussauds:

And one comparing UK presidential approval ratings projected on the Tower of London:

We should note that the slights by the Royal Family to Trump started even before his arrival.  Unlike Presidents George W. Bush and Obama, the Trumps were not invited to lodge at Buckingham Palace during their stay.  Nor were they granted a ride with the Queen in her open carriage, nor was he invited to speak to Parliament.

But the Queen did put out the good china for a white-tie State dinner with the Trumps – all EIGHT of them!  Which begs the question: Who’s picking up the tab for the “kids” and their spouses to tag along?

And here are the “kids”, all decked out for the State dinner:

Of the six people in that photo, only two have even a remote reason for attending – Jarvanka.  The other four – none at all!

And besides, staying in their usual grifter-mode, it looks like Ivanka is taking advantage of the free publicity to promote her new “Little House on the Prairie” clothing line.  And Eric’s wife Lara looks like she’s wearing something my Mom would buy as an oil-tablecloth for the kitchen table back when I was in grade school.  And how was Tiffany able to get a hold of one of Miss Kitty’s dresses from Gunsmoke days?

But none of that compares to the tuxedo (obviously tailored by someone who aligns with the RESIST movement) that Twitler wore to the dinner.

KIDDING!  It wasn’t quite that bad.

But seriously, here’s how a real president pulls off a State dinner with royalty compared to how Trump mangled it:

(Besides looking like Pres. Obama just stepped out from a GQ photoshoot, notice how the Queen is beaming at him!)

And just in case Trump didn’t care for the menu selections, he stopped by Burger King first for some takeout.

The big question is, “Who Wore It Better” – Trump or Mr. Creosote from Monty Python fame?

But I think we should go a little easy on Donnie.  From my obstetrics rotation I can still remember that the third trimester can be very difficult.

To close on a true highlight, we should give a tip-of-the-hat to a famous feline who lives in the Prime Minister’s neighborhood – Larry the Downing Street Cat.  Although his official title is Larry, Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office.

When Trump was visiting Prime Minister May, Larry settled in under The Beast and refused to move when Trump was ready to leave!  Obviously he takes his vermin hunting very seriously.  But the question is, was Larry hiding there because he saw a giant rat enter No. 10 Downing – or does he just like a high-end litterbox?

Either way, that is one pussy that is NOT going to be grabbed!

Elizabeth Warren Town Hall

Yesterday Elizabeth Warren had a Town Hall in Ft. Wayne, IN, deep red goose-stepping territory of the Republican Reich.  If I had a complete video, clip, I would share it, but I do have four outtakes from the meeting.  In my opinion, her performance was stellar. but I suggest you take the time to watch and see what you think.

At the very end of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s MSNBC town hall on Wednesday night, host Chris Hayes asked Warren about all the people who say they like her, but are worried she couldn’t beat President Donald Trump in the general election.

Warren, and many of the other women candidates running in 2020, have been getting this question a lot lately: about whether or not they are “electable.” Warren’s response? Political conventional wisdom about presidents is often wrong.

“I remember when people said Barack Obama couldn’t be elected,” Warren responded. “I remember when people said Donald Trump couldn’t be elected. And here we are.”

Warren has a point; during this time in 2016, political pundits were treating Trump’s campaign as a joke, and talking about Jeb Bush as the frontrunner. And before he was elected president, Obama was a one-term senator from Illinois who was going up against Hillary Clinton. Fast forward to 2020, and the current frontrunner is Obama’s vice president, Joe Biden — the candidate voters and pundits so far view as the most “electable” to beat Trump… [emphasis added]

Has Biden Disqualified Himself?

Posted by at 10:32 am  Politics

This year, I shall not attack Democratic Candidates.  However, when the behavior or a position of a Democratic candidate falls short of what I believe the party needs, I will say so with no attack intended.  Joe Biden recently unveiled his climate change plan.  It has two problems.  First, segments of it appear to be plagiarized.  Second, and far more important, the plan reflects the policies of the fossil fuel industry.

0605CarbCap

Sections of the former vice president’s plan, noted an observant climate campaigner, “looked like the type of thing the coal industry, trade groups, and coal companies themselves say.

Almost immediately after releasing a climate plan Tuesday that green groups slammed as woefully inadequate in part due to its embrace of industry-backed proposals such as “carbon capture,” presumptive 2020 Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden faced accusations of plagiarizing language from a number of sources, including a coalition consisting of major fossil fuel companies…

Josh Nelson, vice president of the progressive organization CREDO Mobile, was the first to highlight possible instances of plagiarism in Biden’s plan, noting on Twitter that the section “about carbon capture and sequestration includes language that is remarkably similar to items published previously by the Blue Green Alliance and the Carbon Capture Coalition”—two organizations backed by major fossil fuel companies and labor unions.

“Membership of the Carbon Capture Coalition, where some of Biden’s language seems to have originated, includes Shell, Peabody Energy, Arch Coal, and Cloud Peak Energy.”

—Josh Nelson, CREDO Mobil…  [emphasis added]

Inserted from <Raw Story>

On the issue of plagiarism, I don’t consider it a big deal.  In all probability it was prepared by an aide, and Biden didn’t know.  He has updated it with proper citations.

Biden’s support for CCS is far more ominous.  There is a reason that there are no large scale CCS plants anywhere in the world.  Such a facility would require so much extra fuel and energy to operate that to do so would be cost prohibitive, a probable increase of up 60% or more.  That makes CCS the pie in the sky for the fossil fuel industry, an excuse to keep on pumping carbon as long as fools believe it’s coming real soon now.

Joe Biden has apparently been taken in, as I do not believe that he would intentionally feed corporate criminal bullshit to American voters.  Nevertheless, he is doing so. If he wins the Democratic nomination, I will support him.  However, I believe this position disqualifies him as a viable candidate for the Democratic nomination, and urge you support others.

Juliana v. United States

Posted by at 9:52 am  Politics
Jun 042019

Climate Change is one of those frustrating issues, in which everything we do to fight it doesn’t seem to be enough.  Then some wonderful kids stepped in.  Four years ago Kelsey Juliana, a young woman here in Oregon, organized 21 kids from eight to nineteen years olds to sue the federal government over climate change.  Today’s hearing before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, here in Portland, will determine whether this important case will go to trial.

0604juliana

On June 4, 2019, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in Juliana v. United States to determine whether the case will proceed to trial in district court in Oregon. Nearly 4 years ago, 21 children and adolescents between 8 and 19 years of age, including Kelsey Juliana from Oregon, filed suit against the federal government, charging that the government’s inaction on addressing climate change violated their constitutional right to life, liberty, and property. To date, no such lawsuit against the federal government has succeeded in the United States, despite a sharp increase in the number of similar suits filed by young people, municipalities, and state governments. Indeed, none of these lawsuits has gone to trial.

As the Juliana plaintiffs argue — and we agree — climate change is the greatest public health emergency of our time and is particularly harmful to fetuses, infants, children, and adolescents.  The adverse effects of continued emissions of carbon dioxide and fossil-fuel–related pollutants threaten children’s right to a healthy existence in a safe, stable environment. It is for this reason that we, together with nearly 80 scientists and physicians and 15 health organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, submitted an amicus brief to help educate the Ninth Circuit about this extraordinary threat.  More frequent and longer heat waves, increasing intensity of extreme weather events such as droughts and wildfires, worsening infectious-disease exposures, food and water insecurity, and air pollution from fossil-fuel burning all threaten to destabilize our public health and health care infrastructure…  [emphasis added]

0603Poll

Here are the results of our “Impeach Barrf?” Poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking of the majority of those who actually do think.

And here are your comments.

‘Handcuffs’ Barr should be indicted for all the misdeeds he has done so far. He acts like the personal attorney for dt, and he’s supposed to work for the People. Another one who has bent the knee for the poutus. Get him outta there!

I think he should be – but I’m afraid it won’t happen –

I think he should also (a) be heavily fined; and (b) serve prison time for abuse of office.

But, what can one expect when lying before Congress is becoming commonplace? If all those who’ve done so since Jan 2017 were to received any form of punishment for their lies, one might need a complete Bureau to administer the cases 🙁

Impeached absolutely. The law is supposed to be impartial so the top cop, so to speak, should be impartial. Barrf is not impartial and he has lied to Congress.

Barrf should be impeached for the same reason Drumpf should be: they can’t be allowed to get away with disregarding, disrespecting and flouting the Constitution. But do I think they will be impeached? Not really, by starting the processes they will be called to take responsibility for their actions.

Yes. I also feel that he should be impeached. He’s kissing his leader’s a*s so good that it’s a disgrace to our country.

I think he should be. He can be indicted, investigated, whatever later, but based on what he’s done so far and his ridiculous testimony today (5/1), yes, he won’t resign so he should be impeached because this is NOT an Attorney General’s proper role nor behavior. At all.

Posted by Joanne D  May 1, 2019 at 7:22 am. From:  CO (US)

The only problem with impeachment, even with conviction, is that it only throws him out on his ear. Whereas he needs to go to prison. That’s what needs to happen, and I’m unsure whether impeachment is the way to make it happen. Or even part of the way to make it happen.

I voted “Unsure”.  While I clearly agree that Barrf deserves to be impeached, Senate Republicans will never convict him.  Therefore, I prefer an Inherent Contempt charge.  The House Sergeant at Arms could arrest Barrf and jail him in the basement until he complies.  I think the last time the House jail was used, was 1870, so it’s probably filthy and rat infested.  That’s a fit location for Barrf, but the rats may sue us.

There is a new poll up now.  Please vote.
