Yesterday I didn’t even reply to comments, but please rest assured, I shall to all. After volunteer work with a therapy group for former prisoners, I had errands to run: a trip to a tailor shop, a trip to buy my February transit pass, a trip to the bank, and a trip to the store. They are just spread out enough that by the time I was done I had walked three miles. That’s a lot for me, even on oxygen. When I got home I was pooped, but I still stayed up to watch the SOTU. With luck, I’ll catch up on comments today, but that’s all. Today is my volunteer day in the prison with a board meeting first, so I’ll be gone.

Tomorrow’s blog posts will be late, because my I won’t return from my volunteer work at the prison until late tonight, so please don’t worry about me if you see nothing new. Just come back. 🙂

Yesterday I caught up on comments, but did virtually no visiting, because I had occupational and physical therapy. One of the exercises was walking around a square path of corridors for six minutes while the therapist followed me holding a blood oxygen monitor hooked to me. On each circuit, I passed a skeleton, whom I named George, and had an ongoing conversation with him as I passed. The therapist was laughing like hell, especially when I said, “George, considering your physical condition, I sure hope you’re a Republican.” I learned some good stuff, though. This will take up one day a week, and I’ll be done in March. Today will ve no better, because it’s my volunteer day at the therapy group.

Yesterday I was robbed. They promised me a Cat Scan, but they lied! I traveled a half hour, each way. I filled out a ton of forms. I waited an hour past my scheduled appointment. I was passed through a huge machine. But I didn’t even get to meet the cat, let alone discuss feline matters or play!! 🙁

I replied to the build up of comments, but got no visiting done. Today should be no better, as I have appointments for both occupational and physical therapy this afternoon. They call it COPD Boot Camp.

Yesterday the faithful in the First Church of the Ellipsoid Orb were particularly blesses in the second Contemplation on Conference. The Mystery of Overtime revealed that Saints are blessed. I caught up on comments, vut got no visiting done. Today I have a cat scan, so I will probably not do much better. The world mist have joined me in the pursuit of the Orb, as this morning my news aggregator was almost bare.

Yesterday, I managed to catch up on comments and visits, but I’ll fall behind today. This is the second highest holy day in the First Church of the Ellipsoid Orb: the Day of the Mysteries of Conferences. Devotees, myself included, will spend several hours in rapt meditation upon Patriots, Jets, Saints and Vikings. It promises to be a blissful occasion.

Yesterday I answered comments here and started to visit blogs. I’m not sure what happened, but I just ran out of gas and could not focus, so I went and napped instead. I hope to do better today.

Here’s an interesting tidbit, not worth an entire article. The House passed a resolution yesterday expressing condolences and solidarity with the people of Haiti. Only one person, a Republican of course, voted against it, the Representative from Texas, whose name I do not mention in articles here, because wing-nut trolls crawl out of the woodwork whenever I do.

Yesterday I managed to stay up to date answering comments and visiting blogs. Today I have a medical appointment, so I’ll probably fall behind. The bug I had appears to have been a 24 hour variety. I still feel a bit queasy, bit I just viewed a picture of Glen Beck without throwing up, so I think the worst is over.

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
