I’m rushing to dress and get to the lobby by 7:15. I’ll have to update and finish when I get back this afternoon.

I’m pleased to announce that Virginia turned BLUE, and Bought Bitch Moscow Mitch has a load in his pants.

Back safe. More test and and depending on the outcome of a stool sample I have to take back, I may have to see a Gastroenterologist. I could not get the GI cocktail, because for the only time this month, I did not have heartburn at the time. ARGH!

For weeks Republicans have been whining that Democrats are misrepresenting the witnesses’ testimony and demanding it be made public. That was foolish, because Democrats have really been very low key in what they have said. It pales before the truth, which is far far worse. The transcripts tell the story!

Republicans have complained for weeks about the secret House impeachment inquiry, accusing Democrats of rigging the process and interviewing witnesses behind closed doors — at one point storming the hearing room and chanting, “Let us in!”

But inside the secure room in the Capitol basement where the proceedings are taking place, Republicans have used their time to complain that testimony has become public, going after their colleagues who were quoted in media reports commenting on witness appearances, and quizzing witnesses themselves on how their statements had been released.

The efforts by GOP lawmakers to shape the Democrats’ inquiry emerged in full view for the first time Monday with the release of hundreds of pages of transcripts from two early witnesses: Marie Yovanovitch, former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, and Michael McKinley, a former senior adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo… [emphasis added]

It’s another busy day here in the CatBox. Already very tired from yesterday, I had to prepare and submit my grocery order. I also prepared our fantasy football report and get my clothing laid out for tomorrow’s GI visit with Gillian, Megan’s PA. I need to be in the lobby by 7:15 AM. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that he had evidence “directly linking” the whistle-blower to the United States government.

“This is the biggest witch hunt in the history of witches or hunts, and it was all started by someone who was in the pay of the United States,” Trump said. “It’s a disgrace.”

From The New Yorker: In a move that raised eyebrows in the nation’s capital, Donald Trump on Saturday secured a note from a podiatrist exempting him from impeachment.

The note, written by Trump’s personal podiatrist, Dr. Harland Dorrinson, said that the strain of undergoing impeachment could “catastrophically inflame” a foot malady that has bedevilled Trump since the nineteen-sixties.

While the doctor’s note drew howls of protests from congressional Democrats, the Attorney General, William Barr, supported excusing Trump from impeachment on humanitarian grounds.

“Given the seriousness of the President’s ailment, impeachment is cruel and unusual punishment and therefore unconstitutional,” Barr said, adding that the Department of Justice would investigate Representative Adam Schiff and the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, for “crimes against feet.”

It’s a crazy day here in the CatBox. Megan (my PCP) called last night. She changed her mind and does not want me to go to the ER. She decided that the time passed without change shows that I’m not having heart attacks, so she wants me in her office next week for GI tests instead. The Cat Scan I have scheduled Monday would show any problems, due to the contrast. Tomorrow is a Holy Day in the Church of the Ellipsoid Orb. My Broncos are meditating with the Browns. With Flacco out 4-6 weeks, none of their three remaining QBs have ever started a game. It won’t be televised here. May the Orb bless your team, as it sure won’t bless mine. Please expect no more than Personal Updates from me tomorrow (WWWendy Day), Monday (Cat Scan), or Wednesday (GI appt. with PCP). In short, I’ll be scarce. Hectic hugs to all.

PHP is a programming language used to build websites. We have it at all through our hosting partner, BlueHost. In order to update it, we have to go through Bluehost. During his life, TomCat was the only one who had access to our account there. I (JD) am now the only one. I have been to BlueHost and investigated updating our PHP to 8.3 or even to 8.1. I found instructions to do so - in fact, I found two conflicting sets of instructions. I went through one set of the steps and got the message that Our site could not handle 8.3, but that it had successfully updated to 8.1. I then went back here to see what it looked like. But I couldn't get in - either as an administrator or as a reader. It was just gone. I had to reach BlueHost by phone. It was determined that Politics Plus is in fact not compatible with any version of PHP newer than the one we have. BlueHost therefore uninstalled it for me, and the site came back to normal. Of course, like everyone else, I care about security. But I also am aware that TomCat elected to use different providers for several of the services that BlueHost provides, for instance backups. We are backed up daily - but not by BlueHost. However, out PHP is through Bluehost. I feel that if they are not worried about the older version, I am not going to worry about it. I believe that our security here is all or mostly through WordFence, whom I trust.
