It only broke the record by 12° yesterday.  Today is worse.  AC helps, but it’s falling behind.  I have collected the data for the Monthly Report, but I’ll put off writing it until tomorrow.  Does anyone have a spare blizzard?

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Trump’s Threats Are Getting Out of Control | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

I’ve noticed that, in the last couple days, Congress has ignored their Fuhrer. Is it the beginning of the end? RESIST!!

From Daily Kos: Lt. Col. Amy McGrath (Ret.) has launched a Congressional bid for Kentucky’s 6th district and her introductory ad is phenomenal. McGrath is a former Marine fighter pilot who flew 85 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Aviation Museum in Kentucky in November 2016. She’ll be facing Republican Andy Barr in Kentucky’s 6th District, which Barr narrowly won in 2012.

What a great ad! Bought Bitch Mitch supports her opponent. Isn’t that enough reason to support her?  Also, she has brass cojones!  RESIST!!

From NY Times: Two close associates of Pope Francis have accused American Catholic ultraconservatives of making an alliance of “hate” with evangelical Christians to back President Trump, further alienating a group already out of the Vatican’s good graces.

The authors, writing in a Vatican-vetted journal, singled out Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trump’s chief strategist, as a “supporter of an apocalyptic geopolitics” that has stymied action against climate change and exploited fears of migrants and Muslims with calls for “walls and purifying deportations.”

The article warns that conservative American Catholics have strayed dangerously into the deepening political polarization in the United States. The writers even declare that the worldview of American evangelical and hard-line Catholics, which is based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, is “not too far apart’’ from jihadists.

It’s a blessing to see authentic Christians calling out Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians within their own denomination. The Fuhrer likes the pseudo-Christians and hopes to grope the nuns.

Here are the results of our “Republicans in Hellfire” poll.  Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories.   Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population.  Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking of the majority of those who actually do think.

0802Poll

Since our polling site no longer enables us to copy and paste your poll comments, you may read them here.

I voted for all equally.

Well, after a couple polls that were all entertainment, the new poll brings up a very serious subject.  Illustrating your choices with examples would be ideal.

I’m having a busy day in spite of the oppressive heat, but they did lower today’s forecast to 107°.  That will still beat the old record high by 14°.  I cleaned out the fridge and organized the freezer.  Store to Door has delivered groceries, and I put them away.  I changed the poll.  I prepared the graphics and collected most of the data for July’s Monthly Report.  Wendy will be coming this evening.  I expect her to wear a swimsuit, so she can cool off too.

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Why is Trump Reminding Us of the Pee Pee Tape? | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

I think Putin’s Piddle Pervert keeps bringing up the pee tape, because he’s suffering from withdrawal. Putin won’t provide hookers for Trump, because the investigation is interfering with Putin’s quo. RESIST!!

From YouTube (RWW Channel): Jim Bakker: Buy My Food Buckets Because We’re Heading For ‘A Hellish 42 Months On Planet Earth’

Barf Bag Alert!!

Bakker illustrates the difference between taxpayers and pseudo-Christians. Republicans tax taxpayers to rip us off. Pseudo-Christians are so stupid that they hand it over despite Bakker’s long history of criminal con games. RESIST!!

From NY Times: The Trump administration is preparing to redirect resources of the Justice Department’s civil rights division toward investigating and suing universities over affirmative action admissions policies deemed to discriminate against white applicants, according to a document obtained by The New York Times.

The document, an internal announcement to the civil rights division, seeks current lawyers interested in working for a new project on “investigations and possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.”

The announcement suggests that the project will be run out of the division’s front office, where the Trump administration’s political appointees work, rather than its Educational Opportunities Section, which is run by career civil servants and normally handles work involving schools and universities.

The professionals in the Educational Opportunities section would not carry out Trump’s and KKK Beauregard’s racist Republican scam! RESIST!!

The heat wave is upon Portland with 100° today, building to 108° tomorrow and 109° Thursday.  There is no rain forecast for the next two weeks, and the first day below 90° is a week from Friday.  What wouldn’t I give for a rainy day!  Changing the poll and the Monthly Report for July will both be at least a day late, because I was so wiped out by yesterday’s eye torture and the extreme heat.  In case you missed it, there was no recurrence of cancer.

From YouTube (GQ Channel): Down Goes the Mooch! | The Resistance with Keith Olbermann

Keith makes an excellent point. Scary Muck was only a reflection of his beloved Fuhrer. RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Thousands of angry comedians protested outside the White House on Monday afternoon, demanding the immediate reinstatement of the ousted communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Chanting “Bring back Mooch,” the irate funnymen and funnywomen argued that the abrupt removal of Scaramucci was akin to taking the food out of their families’ mouths.

Industry estimates had projected that Scaramucci’s presence on the White House staff would generate between four and five billion dollars for the comedy industry this year alone, a windfall that has now been erased.

Buddy Schlantz, the owner of the Bethesda, Maryland, comedy club known as the Laff Pagoda, travelled to the White House to protest what he called “a direct assault on the comedy community.”

That’s straight news, Andy. And who can blame them! Rumor has it that Samantha Bee and Bill Maher are hosting a drunken wake memorializing him. Winking smile RESIST!!

From NY Times: Former Sheriff Joe Arpaio committed a crime by defying a court order to stop detaining suspected undocumented immigrants, a judge ruled on Monday, in the latest rebuke for a once-popular politician who was voted out of office last year.

United States District Judge Susan R. Bolton found Mr. Arpaio, 85, guilty of criminal contempt of court, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. Mr. Arpaio’s lawyers said he would appeal.

The conviction comes as sheriffs are under pressure to play a major role in the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. The president has threatened to withhold federal funds from local governments that do not cooperate by holding jail inmates for deportation, and immigrant advocates have pushed back with lawsuits charging that such detentions violate constitutional rights.

Mr. Arpaio served for 24 years as sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz., which includes Phoenix, building a national reputation for harsh conditions in his county jail, and for his campaign against undocumented immigrants. The criminal charge grew out of a lawsuit filed a decade ago charging that the sheriff’s office regularly violated the rights of Latinos, stopping people based on racial profiling, detaining them based solely on the suspicion that they were in the country illegally, and turning them over to the immigration authorities.

He’ll get six months at most, and will never serve a day, because he would not survive the first day. He is so hated that he would be killed even in protective custody. Give the bastard six months of supermax solitary, or at least make him wear an ankle bracelet for two years. RESIST!!

Eye torture day.  I’m in a big rush.  I’ll comment when I return, if I can.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:18 (average 4:32).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From NY Times: A little more than a year after the Russian effort to interfere in the American presidential election came to light, the diplomatic fallout — an unraveling of the relationship between Moscow and Washington on a scale not seen in decades — is taking its toll.

President Vladimir V. Putin bet that Donald J. Trump, who had spoken fondly of Russia and its authoritarian leader for years, would treat his nation as Mr. Putin has longed to have it treated by the West. That is, as the superpower it once was, or at least a major force to be reckoned with, from Syria to Europe, and boasting a military revived after two decades of neglect.

That bet has now backfired, spectacularly. If the sanctions overwhelmingly passed by Congress last week sent any message to Moscow, it was that Mr. Trump’s hands are now tied in dealing with Moscow, probably for years to come.

House and Senate Republicans got their quid, when the Fuhrer took the White House. They don’t care if Putin [R-RU] gets his quo. Trump [R-RU] signed the bill, only because he knew Congress would override a veto. Passing sanctions helps Republican legislators hide their seditious participation in covering-up Trump’s Treason. RESIST!!

From Washington Post: Even if they weren’t able to snuff out Obamacare, Republicans appear determined to ensure its marketplaces accelerate their meltdown.

Over the weekend, President Trump castigated the Senate for failing to pass multiple versions of legislation repealing parts of the Affordable Care Act, despite a marathon health-care debate that spanned four days last week. The president has few options left at this point, but he does have power over one crucial part of the ACA marketplaces: payments covering cost-sharing discounts (or CSRs) that insurers must offer to the lowest-income customers. These payments are estimated to total $7 billion this year — making up about 15 percent of all federal subsidies on which marketplace plans are counting.

At this moment, it’s up to the administration whether to make the monthly CSR payments to insurers. So far, it has delivered them around the 20th of each month. But the president tweeted on Saturday that he’s considering withholding the next batch (presumably in August), if Republicans don’t find a way to mov past their seemingly insurmountable gridlock on health care:

Click Through. I would hope the insurers could sue the Reich. Howl, Protesters! Howl! RESIST!!

Lyin’ Ryan (R-WI), Bought Bitch Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Donald Putin’s Puppet Trump (R-RU) tried desperately to kill those too poor and/or ill to afford to pay for health care, so they could spend their care money on welfare for billionaires.  They failed, and because they failed, they are not only desperate for a win, but also, raving to empty the pockets of the poor and middle classes for billionaire subsidies.  So Republicans will be spreading far and wide, promising to lower YOUR taxes.

0730ryan-trump-mcconnell

Republicans will be vigorously selling tax reform over the August recess, following the release of shared tax-reform principles and the Senate’s failure to pass even a scaled-down ObamaCare repeal bill.

Now that GOP leaders and the White House have announced a consensus on goals for tax reform, they are hoping to get voters excited about forthcoming legislation. And they’ll have business groups and conservative advocacy organizations helping them in the efforts.

The campaigning on tax reform was going to be in full force even if the Senate had a successful healthcare vote. But the failure to repeal ObamaCare makes passing tax-reform legislation even more crucial, as Republicans want a legislative success to tout for the midterm elections.

The healthcare defeat “put pressure on getting a victory” on taxes, said Marc Gerson, chair of Miller & Chevalier and a former tax counsel to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Some GOP lawmakers have continued to express an interest in working on healthcare, but congressional GOP leaders have signaled that they are ready to shift to other priorities…

From <The Hill>

RepubliSpeak Dictionary: Lower YOUR taxes
Massive tax cuts for people in the top 0.1%, modest tax cuts for the next 0.9%, and tax increases for the bottom 99%

Wendy left a short time ago, and I desperately needed destinking.  Portland entered an excessive heat warning starting yesterday and extending through the entire week.  Today is only 89° (60% humidity).  Thursday is forecast at 109°.  ARGH!  Tomorrow I have my semi-annual eye torture by Alison, my eye cancer surgeon, to make sure there has been no recurrence.  Ultrasound on the eye is like scratching a chalk board inside your head.  I’ll be gone most of the day and will be fully dilated and useless when I return, so please expect no more than a Personal Update.

From YouTube (RWW Channel): RWW News: Rick Joyner Says Chaos Is Proof Trump Is An ‘Extraordinary Leader,” Just Like Jesus

Barf Bag Alert!!

What a crock from this Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian. However, Trump is just like Republican Supply-side Jesus (the exact opposite of the Real Jesus). So where is Supply-side Judas when we need him? RESIST!!

From Daily Kos:

Senate Republicans failed in their latest attempt to take health coverage from 16 million people with so-called “skinny repeal.” So how’s Donald Trump responding? By lamenting the failure and promising to do what he can to blow up the system so that at least a few million people lose coverage:

Very presidential. So populist. What a champion of working people. After sleeping on it, Trump expressed the deep thought that “If Republicans are going to pass great future legislation in the Senate, they must immediately go to a 51 vote majority, not senseless 60”—after a 51-49 vote.

What an idiot!! RESIST!!

From NY Times: President Trump’s admonition that the police should not be “too nice” while transporting suspects drew laughter and cheers from a crowd of officers on Friday, but police officials swiftly made it clear they did not find the words funny.

From New York to Los Angeles, law enforcement authorities criticized the president’s remarks. Experts worried that his words could encourage the inappropriate use of force. A defense lawyer even signaled that he might use video of the speech in court.

The criticism online started shortly after Mr. Trump’s comments, which came at an event in Brentwood, N.Y., which was intended to support the police in their fight against La Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, a gang that has been accused of several murders on Long Island.

After calling for more immigration officers to help arrest the gang members, Mr. Trump told officers, “Please don’t be too nice.”

“Like when you guys put somebody in the car, and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put your hand over” their head, he said, putting his hand above his head for emphasis. “I said, ‘You can take the hand away, O.K.?’”

To the best of my knowledge, no President has ever publicly called for criminal police brutality. But the Fuhrer is a Resident, not a President. RESIST!!
