It’s a chilly morning, here in the CatBox, and a very busy day.  Store to Door is delivering groceries, and I’ll have to unpack and put them  away.  This evening, WWWendy is coming to destink the putrid TomCat.  I think I’ll share my chili with her to make a stereo green cloud.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:42 (average 4:38).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Short Takes:

From YouTube (Trae Crowder Channel): Trae Crowder – Californians

LOL! Trae Californicated Californians. RESIST!!

From NY Times: In the months before Kirstjen Nielsen was forced to resign, she tried to focus the White House on one of her highest priorities as homeland security secretary: preparing for new and different Russian forms of interference in the 2020 election.

President Trump’s chief of staff told her not to bring it up in front of the president.

Ms. Nielsen left the Department of Homeland Security early this month after a tumultuous 16-month tenure and tensions with the White House. Officials said she had become increasingly concerned about Russia’s continued activity in the United States during and after the 2018 midterm elections — ranging from its search for new techniques to divide Americans using social media, to experiments by hackers, to rerouting internet traffic and infiltrating power grids.

But in a meeting this year, Mick Mulvaney, the White House chief of staff, made it clear that Mr. Trump still equated any public discussion of malign Russian election activity with questions about the legitimacy of his victory. According to one senior administration official, Mr. Mulvaney said it “wasn’t a great subject and should be kept below his level.”

The Republican Reich is the place where organized crime and narcissism join forces. RESIST!!

From Alternet: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has vowed to block Democratic proposals like the “Green New Deal” and “Medicare for All” after the 2020 elections.

McConnell told constituents in Owensboro, Kentucky, that none of the proposals would come to pass if he is still in power in 2021.

What’s the best solution for Bought Bitch Mitch’s promise. Any ideas? 😉 RESIST!!

  1. Trae: He puts on a good show. Hope he continues his tours, and spreads the truth and cheer!

NYT: Even after sharing her concerns, she was fired by the bogus potus. I’m sure Miller told him too, as she was not hateful enough, in her thoughts and actions, or of like minds as his is. How low does one have to go in this administration? Pretty dam low, ugh!

AN: Vote his as- out. Go Amy McGrath for Congress!!!

  2. 4:55 Pretty, but too much orange.

Trae – Californians have shown a modicum of toughness in surviving some weather events in the past several years and then bouncong back. Just to name one, I have a lot of respect for the toughness of the people of Paradise during and after that fire. I will say he is right on about people generalizing about certain states and congressional districts based on who they elect. I just pointed out elsewhere that the Iowans who voted against Steve King are the real victims in that area – and thet there were more of them in the most recent election than there have been for a long time. That’s where my sympathies are as he goes around comparing losing his committee assignments to being crucified.

NYT – My take on this is more like “See, I told you no matter how awful Trump appointees are, he can always find someone worse.”

AlterNet – TC, you left out the best part! He actually said people should “think of him as the grim reaper”! Seriously! Even in Kentucky (which does have some pretty good people there among the others), is that the way to get elected?

Cartoon – They hardly need to pledge that. We know it already.

  3. Rethuglicans have gotten so bad, I don’t recognize the GOP anymore. However, Democrats still need to get their s–t together if we are going to have a Blue Wave in 2020 that is bigger than the one in 2018. Democrats MUST re-take the Senate as well as the White House. Democrats and progressives need to focus on WINNING, and parroting “Vote blue no matter who” isn’t going to cut it. We need real progressive candidates who appeal to voters. We need to get people in marginalized communities, and those who will turn 18 before November of 2020, registered to vote. We have a lot of work to do, so let’s not screw up! Let’s focus on taking our country back – not so much on impeachment or Mueller’s findings. The latter two are important, but winning elections is vital because only winners make policy.

  4. TCC: I did not know he was/is doing the Willy Nelson thing, being “On the Road, Again.”  Not all polymaths, but some serious science goes on at some of Tennessee’s colleges!
NYT: As per Joanne, I am of the belief that he has a search committee scraping all the barrels in the cess pool, like the Heritage Society, finding names of people who breathe nothing but sulphur fumes!  This reminds me f a quote attributed to someone in a long ago time, that went something like this: “The problem with being an absolute ruler is that no one will dare tell you that you are wrong, ever.”  And Donny Boy does not like to be redirected, let us call it!
Alternet: Got to kick the bitch out!
‘Toon: Sadly, it works, in regard to their imbecilic flock.

  5. HUGE WORRY: Will America Prevent Putin from Electing His Puppet … AGAIN?

  6. 3:32 Photo-shopped sunset.

Trae: Good to see Trae is very funny too when he’s breaching subjects other than Drumpf or Republicans.

NYT: Nielsen, with all her knowledge brought to her by her Department of Homeland Security, wasn’t allowed to bring up with Drumpf that Russia was still going full steam ahead with trying to interfere with the next election. That should tell Americans how much he cared about Russian interfering then, or now. And it should raise the question why Drumpf is not doing anything against it, going so far as not even wanting it mentioned around him. Is he hoping the Russians will help him to a second “victory”?

Alternet: Agreed, TomCat. There’s only one answer to McConnell’s vow!

Cartoon: So Drumpf is a true Republican after all.

I’ve been looking through the news items, but I couldn’t yet find a peep, or tweet if you like, out of Drumpf about the upcoming meeting between Kim and Putin in Vladivostok today (Thursday). The BBC and ABC describe it as: “Top of the agenda is North Korea’s denuclearisation following the failed Trump-Kim meeting in Hanoi.” I guess Drumpf doesn’t like to draw attention to his failures?

    • The sunset might just be filtered, either through a camera attachment, or through heavily-particulated air, or both.  South Florida looking west, Could happen.

  7. TRAE; I appreciate all the positives words that Joanne: was saying about the people of California. We have been through a lot for many years due to nature disasters. It has made people much more stronger and has brought people together to stand up and fight together. I too hope Trae continues with his tours.
NYT: Sad to continue reading how ugly tRump is even with the ones who work with him. Shameful rotten scandal.
Alternet: I had an email yesterday that was saying exactly what Joanne stated:”That he is the grim reaper”. How anyone would continue to keep this no good creep in office too, I’ll never understand.
    Cartoon: Sick minded repugs.

    • I consider myself a Coloradan, having lived here more than half my life (and about twice as long as  I ever lived in Cali), but I was born there, and still have family, friends, and affections.Yes, there are some airheads there.  But what place on earth doesn’t have some airheads?

    • Guys, since Trae was speaking to Californians, I don’t think he was bad mouthing them.  I know I wasn’t.  I like Californians.  I just don’t want Oregon Californicated. 12

  8. Puzzle — 5:58  The sun was in my eyes!

Trae — LMAO!!!  I do enjoy listening to him.

NY Times — “…she tried to focus the White House on one of her highest priorities as homeland security secretary: preparing for new and different Russian forms of interference in the 2020 election.” — Trump has and is ignoring the Russia threat to the US.  I wonder if he is hoping that Putin will intercede on his behalf with the electorate to hand him the WH again?  Don’t get me wrong, she completely screwed up with family separations and children in cages by following Trump’s lead.  The entire Reich MUST go!

AlterNet — Suggestions?  Send the OLD jackass to the glue factory!  He is up for re-election in 2020 and I think it is past time for him to retire . . . as I said . . . to the glue factory!

Cartoon — About the only true statement they have said.

I came upon an interesting discussion on YouTube “The Mueller Report Revealed – Malcolm Nance, with CNN analyst, Asha Rangappa, a former F.B.I. special agent specializing in counterintelligence investigations, and Scott Horton, a Columbia law professor.” It is 1.5 hours long but interesting.  For some reason it won’t post here.

  9. Thanks and tired hugs to all. 23
