Meacham is a conservative, but he appears to reject the Republican Reich, and he does make sense.
I have liked the idea for a long time, because we have more people than family wage jobs. In fact, I suggested it in an Economics essay in 1966. For more info on UBI, click here.

Bill – Monologue – Trump, Rudy, Kanye – that really is The Odd Triple, isn’t it. “They’re both senile” – and Kanye is bipolar, a condition almost as untreatable, because one of the main symptoms is rejecting treatment. I forget where, but I read that the medication he was prescribed for 3x per diem he actually takes a few times a week.
Jon Meacham – “The country we want is not the one that closes its fists, it’s the one that opens its arms.” AMEN! Oh, and “You can get 34% of the country to say damn’ near anything.”
Michael Tubbs – UBI – What would you do if you didn’t have to work to earn a living? Well, the older ones here actually know that – retired, might be willing to work but can’t get hired due to age discrimination – we agitate for progressive causes. How many younger people would do the same? I certainly agree with Mayor Tubbs that the dignity of work is kind of depended on workers being treated with dignity – just what Republicans DON’T want. Well, enough speculation. It does need to be tried somewhere so we can have some evidence about how it works.
New Rule – This is evidential that women as a group are treated very much like people of color as a group. “Well, it’s fine for you to demonstrate for your rights – But not like that. And not like that. And not like that either.”
Mayor Tubbs is a fine young man, and I hope that more folks of his generation will seek political seats. Really enjoyed listening to him.
