Yesterday just sort of melted away – gone before I knew it.  I did get some amall things accomplished, but nothing to write home about.  Of course going to see Virgil is far up front in my mond!  Oh, and Pat has company, so she’ll be a little scarce for a couple of days.

Short Takes

Mother Jones – Mike Lindell Is Donating MyPillows to Kentucky Tornado Victims
Quote – But not to worry citizens of Kentucky. Mike Lindell is on the case! The founder of the MyPillow empire—and a MAGA world luminary—says he’s donating 10,000 pillows to Kentucky tornado victims. Those lucky souls may not have a house or a job, but they will now have pillows that Costco won’t sell anymore.
C,ick through for a little more insnity. This sounds like a business tax deduction to me. He will write them off as a donation at full retail value (which he could never possibly get for that many) and likely end up paying no taxes. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had calculated the number to give with that in mind – just enough to zero out his taxes and not one pillow more.

Crooks and Liars – Surprise! Wingnuts Find A Vaccine They Like — Guess Why!
Quote – But apparently the J&J shot is good now because we’re saying that it isn’t — mainstream scientists have determined that it’s less effective than the mRNA vaccines against the Delta and Omicron variants, and it’s sometimes responsible for dangerous blood clots…. We don’t like the J&J shot anymore — so of course Wolf does.

Wonkette – Jan. 6 Committee Invites Coup- Curious Rep. Scott Perry In For A Little Chat
Quote – It’s nice of Thompson to let witnesses know up front that he’s already got ’em by the short and curlies, in case Perry wasn’t already on notice that the committee had a whole bunch of his comms after Vice Chair Liz Cheney read that text saying, “Please check your signal” during the vote to hold Mark Meadows in contempt. The Washington Post confirms that Perry sent that text to Meadows, who turned it over to the committee as a non-privileged document before he stomped off and quit cooperating. So Perry knows that Thompson and Cheney already have at least some of his comms.

  1. Mike Lindell Is Donating MyPillows to Kentucky Tornado Victims
It’s a nice gesture.  But I think Dinesh D’Souza (to be more representative of him, Lindell, TFG, etc.) should change his discount offer from 66% to 66.6%.  That’s be much more reflective of them.
Surprise! Wingnuts Find A Vaccine They Like — Guess Why!
Well, of course wingnuts are going to back Big Pharma.  No surprise there.
Forget that Moderna got almost $10 BILLION in government funding to aid in developing the vaccine along w/ NIH scientists.  As always w/ the QOP: Socialize the Risks but Privatize the Profits.
Jan. 6 Committee Invites Coup- Curious Rep. Scott Perry In For A Little Chat
Perry is a looney who has never heard a QOP conspiracy he’s not willing to embrace.

He voted against the Violence Against Women act and then raises concerns that Afghan refugees would rape and kill little girls in the streets.
His grandparents were Colombian immigrants, but he is against immigration.
His family was on welfare, but he is against providing tax relief to lift children out of poverty and hunger.

    UPDATE
The day before the new PC & laptop were to arrive (the 22nd) I got and email from Dell & HP that delivery will be delayed.  The Dell PC is now scheduled to arrive on 1/28/22 & the HP laptop on 2/3/22.  But who knows.
Fortunately I should get all my CMEs earned by the 12/31/21 deadline (bless all the libraries), but I’m seriously considering getting a cheap, rebuilt laptop to tide me over.  It’s a pain to have to trek in on a regular basis.
I doubt, given the chip shortage and supply chain issue, it would do me any good to order anything else.  And the shelves are bare for what I’m looking for.
Not the worst thing that has or will happen to me – but it is frustrating.
Hope everyone has a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    • Gee Nameless, I’m sorry to hear that your computer and laptop deliveries are delayed, especially for such a lengthy amount of time. Do you think that could possibly change with the President stepping up the cargo situation?
Glad you’ll have your CME completed by 12/31/21.
I will you a very Merry Christmas too.
      Keep us posted.
      Thanks, Nameless

  2. Gosh, does time fly by or what? Best to all and good wishes for the Holidays! Take good care!
Cartoon: Boy, talk about party poopers…THAT they are~
MJ: Yes, he’s not doing (or saying) actions with any compassion, he’s all in for himself and his company.
C&L: Good Grief! What’s good for us, is the opposite of the R’s mindset.
Wonkette: This reads like a novel that one can’t put down, to find out who the naughty one is…Ms. Justice is moving along, while I clap with glee.
    Cartoon: Of course!
THIS JUST IN: “Rudy Giuliani claims he’s more lucid than 90% of the population. That’s not how you spell ‘ludicrious'”. ~ James M. ~
    2. “We are intent on not letting Omicron disrupt work and school for the vaccinated. You’ve done the right thing, and we will get through this. For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illnesses and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.” ~ WH GOV ~
    3. “There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of corrupt, incompetent or vile men.” ~ Ludwig Von Mises ~
    4. “Since the beginning of the pandemic last March, we have watched the spectacle of the conservative, anti-abortion movement praising life of the unborn, and in the same breath essentially shrugging their shoulders about deaths from the virus.”  ~ Chris Hayes ~
     5. “Every cop who saved my as- (and democracy) on January 6th, that’s my Person of the Year.”
    ~ Eric Swallwell ~

    • Hi again, just saw this quote and HAD to put it on PP…..
“Stop making fun of kids who believe in Santa Clause. There’s still adults who believe that Trump actually won the election.” ~ Olivia Julianna ~ 29

Happy Holidays one and all.   20

      • I doubt that many peogressives are making fun of kids who believe in Santa Clause – we generlly don’t like to punch down.  But there are a lot of people who need to hear this.

    • I can even tell you the name of that novel – it’s “Murder on the Orient Express.”  Spoiler:  The detective doesn’t have to find the guilty person – everyone os guilty.  He needs to identify the one person who didn’t actually stab the victim.

TJI #1 – (Sigh) Mr. Dunning and Mr. Kruger, we need you.
TJI #2 – The unvaxed won’t believe it. The latest scapegoat is anthrax. Seriously.
      TJI #3 – True that.
TJI #4 – I wonder how many miscarriages (including deaths of pregnant people) can be attributed to the virus. And whom would you sue in Texas for the bounty on that?
      TJI #5 – Amen!

  3. Comment from Mitch –

Toon: Of course!MJ: Lindell will use this for a tax deduction, and people will get very smelly pillows, like the one we returned a couple of years ago.
C&L: Educated idiots are very dangerous, because they have more information with which to make up excuses.  Wolf is an ass!  All
these talking heads have their heads up their asses.
Wonkette: These folks are in it sooo deeply, and they know they just might be red meat for the committee.
    FFT: Great idea, methinks.
    Mitch

  4. Cartoon; They love ruining it, don’t they?
MJ: I agree with Pat and Mitch, that he’s not doing this out of caring. Like his best buddy tRump, he just does it for attention and like Mitch stated, for financial reason.
C&L: Which one, that one?  Crazy mixed up fools.
Wonkette: The committee has been moving along collecting all the facts they need. Yet these rotten Rs are playing head games by not willing to appear to answer the questions the committee wants to ask them. Perry was on CNN today, already saying the committee is writing false claims, etc. I hope the judge doesn’t side with tRump’s request to keep his data from the committee. I want him prosecuted and to pay for all he has done.
Food for Thought: Yep, that’s the way Fakebook and other social outlets play.
Hope you had a pleasant day. Time does fly, I can’t believe that two weeks are practically here again. Sure Virgil is getting excited.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

  5. A new Wifi modem that miraculously came through the mail in less than a week and an afternoon on the phone to help me kickstart the satellite disk into delivering internet and then VOIP, seem to have done the trick for yesterday. I’m back on the internet, so enjoy it while it lasts. I’m not completely convinced it was just the modem – too many kicks in the kickstart needed – so the next storm will show if the wall unit of the satellite disk itself wasn’t a little over-cooked in a previous storm. Until then I’m going to try to be here as much as possible. The backlog of nearly a month is quite impressive even with the use of a backup dongle…

Cartoon: I haven’t seen a black Santa around this year despite a strong Black Lives Matter movement. Omicron is going rampant and most people won’t give it a second thought this year.

MJ: I’m waiting for the next, updated, “Scrooge” featuring Lindell, TFG and some of those billionaires that went into space who are mass-converted by an assortment of progressive, climate-change fighting, peace-loving ghosts. Lindell is a pathetic psychopath whose tax returns need to be scrutinised thoroughly.

C&L: If you had any education at all, I mean…just basic reading, writing and arithmetic, then how could you not see through these idiotic shifts of Wolf et al?

Wonkette: I hope the committee has its orders to hold in contempt ready. If Perry has the balls for that, that is.

FFT: There are two sides to it. Starting a Republicanesk rumour like that will make some people lose the little confidence they had in government. On the other hand, if it gets some to get their jab because the only news they believe is FaceBook news, go for it.

And to all of you at PP:

    Have a Merry Christmas

    • What a little cutie (should I have spelled that “koatie,” or is that too close to “coati”?  I’m so glad to see you, and I know you are glad to have access.  Take your time.

  6. I love the food for thought! LOL!
