  1. Comment from Mitdh –

GK: Inherent contempt!Showing anything but strength to Bannon, and/or these others, will only be seen as weakness, and we know what dumpy, and his fellow maggots think of weakness.
MT: “I’ve heard the opposite.”  Right, from your ass!
LP: He alone screwed it up like no one else ever did!  “I alone, am the biggest POS you have ever met!”
RR: Reagan-pig!  Not nice to see him again.  Trickle-down was not a mistake, it was a tactic, and they knew they were lying, some of them, themselves, have admitted.  A thriving middle class even benefits the wealthy.
Rob R: Manchin is emblematic of a deep pus pocket within the culture.
BT:  What goes around, comes around?
Beau:  “…all they want to do is divide us.  How does this happen?”  Because he is certain that HE ALONE is right.  No, the 1% did not build this country, especially today’s 1%.  Slaves built this country.  This is reminiscent of a friend of mine who comes from a very religious Christian family, whose very
devout brother-in-law was all about “I’ve got mine, screw you!”  Beau is very gently, so right!  Let them go forth, and “fix the world.”

  2. JM: It’s the same lament over and over again. By failing to react the DOJ is undercutting the power of the Commission and renders it weak and its final report inadequate. By now, it’s hard to suppress the feeling there are Trumpian forces within the DOJ that knowingly pervert the course of justice.

MT: The brothers are on a roll again, but then it’s rather easy to use facts to undo the GQP lies.

LP: If I remember correctly, the Lincoln Project was created by a group of disgruntled moderate Republicans and they’re doing a fine job so far. But the internet and airwaves should be awash with equally or even more powerful messages from the Democrats. This is the time to exploit every win to the fullest and counter-act every GQP lie if Democrats want to hang on to their slim majority in Congress. This is their/America’s last chance.

RR: Listen to Robert, America, and seize the moment.

another RR: Excellent cartoon: Politics will be the death of us all.

    BT: Hillarious

Beau: There was a terrible sadness about this video. Perhaps that is because Beau realizes that there’s some take the saying “If you aren’t a liberal when you’re young, you have no heart, but if you aren’t a middle-aged conservative, you have no head” very seriously and that middle-aged conservatives tend to forget the young also have excellent heads and they themselves have lost all heart in every possible sense. Climate change has delivered us with extremes in bad weather to deal with, modern politics have given us extremes in right-wing politics to handle. It seems that the “natural” drift towards conservatism when people grow older has also gone to extremes, having the parents completely give up on thinking for themselves, go by the “head” of others, disavow any heart they have left. Beau looked and talked like he recognised this and that he had no answer to it.

    • I have thought for a long time that “old saying” was BS.  And now, at 76, I know why.   While I grant that if you’re not a liberal (at any age) you have no heart (and some people never do have one), if your head is changed by getting older, it could only be because you are in the upper class – or think you are or ought to be.  Because anypne with a head (and some people never do have one) who looks at liberal governents will see that, though not perfect, they are the governments that bring more prosperity to more people than any other forms.

It’s also beside the point.  The people with whom liberals are now dealing are not conservatives but uthotitarians.  That is not even on the same continuum as “liberal” and “conservative.”  Either (and any) economic system can exist with or without authoritarianism.  It doesn’t help anyone who is fighting to be wrong about the nature of the enemy.

I certainly agree about the sadness.  And he has some similar ones coming up -one will be tomorrow.
