I feel bad for Baldwin, and it’s an interesting point of law – but we got bigger fish to fry.

I personally would never charge Baldwin the actor in this situation. Baldwin the producer, however, may have some liability.
The ACLU ad, like “The Blair Witch Project”, demonstrates you don’t have to be a polished professional to present horror effectively.
Good point. I thought about broaching the subject of Baldwin’s multi-roles WRT the movie – so I’m very pleased you did.
I don’t see how it’s not going to cost him – or more likely his LLC, Corp., Co. or w/e – quite a bundle when it comes to civil proceedings.
And rest assured, the family of Halyna Hutchins will most assuredly be seeking (and rightfully so) civil damages. The question will be just how many ZEROES are involved in the settlement check.
JM: This shooting gets a lot of attention because of the fame of Alec Baldwin. If this had happened on the set of a B-movie or the shot was fired by some unknown actor, this would have faded from the news last week. BTW, when I first heard of it, I immediately thought of old CSI or other crime series, where the prop (gun) was rigged to have an innocent kill someone with it because it seemed clear that Baldwin had absolutely no intention to kill anyone. Any Trumpkins on the staff trying to get even for his SNL persiflage of TFG? He certainly didn’t deserve the sickening T-shirt text TFG jr. came up with, but it made me think they had a hand in it.
MT: If only half of what Schmidt predicts comes true, i.e. Republicans win the house, America is no longer in a handbasket going to hell but in a rocket.
NTN: Unless voting is mandatory, secondary elections always have a low turnout wherever they are held. And low turnouts always favour the old white rich guys, because their voters are white and have the time and the money to vote.
RA: I can only echo “What has happened to America?” And the answer is not all those mugshots of Republican Nazis; it is the people who voted for them. Without their votes, these people would be at home, annoying the hell out of their families at Thanksgiving.

You may well be correct. If so, they were smarter than the average MAGAt because they set it up by ignoring safety protocols on the set beforehand. The armorer who handed him the gun was an inexperienced stand-in for the one originally hired. As the producer, all of that makes him look generally sloppy. I have no idea whether that is typical of him or not
