  1. Comment from Mitch –

GK: Saw that yesterday, and here is a possible companion piece: https://youtu.be/pvwkV0ppP1s
LP: Any week in the GQP is one of insanity!
MSNBC: There has been reporting that the “Syndrome” is considered, by some, to be an instance of
RA: “Compassionate Christians” seem to be a rare breed, nowadays, or are they just outshouted by the loud crazy ones? I think it is the latter.  I wonder
whether, or not those latter ones have any idea about some of John the Baptist’s reported behavior.
    Trae: Funny!
Dodo: Wonderful!  But, don’t show that to Republicans, they’d have a heart attack while screaming about racial mixing!
Beau: What idiocy!  What a waste of energy, and time being alive.  The country is in crisis, and people get all shook up about clearly make-believe stuff?  I
have a confession to make:  I’ve not followed ANY comic book character, for decades, at least 5 of them.  There, I’ve said it.  And the sky is not falling.  Well, not yet.  First, Lois and Clark, members of different species (recall, he is an alien, from another planet) were able to make a baby?  Second, if so, then it follows that there would be a good chance that that child would be a bit not-quite-standard.  Ten percent of human-to-human children are gay, it’s a form ordinary humans take.  But, that’s in real life.  “Oh,” some would say, “It’s a bad example for the kids.” Yeah, just like trying to hide the country’s historic love affair with slavery is a bad example for the kids.  It’s the lie that is the bad example.

    • The opening chyron in your companion piece – I read about Bill Clinton having sepsis and of course I am worried – I knew someone who died from that.  But he is getting world class care at UC Itvine, whareas my friend was in a small-town hospital.

  2. Bannon … Congress Should Use Contempt x 2

    Agreed!  Times a’wastin …

Last Week in the Republican Party…

    These are VERY scary people!

Victims Of Havana Syndrome Reveal Identifies [sic], Describe ‘Painful Symptoms’

I saw this on the news this weekend and found it very disturbing for a number of reasons.

It’s worrisome that we really do not have a good understanding of how this is being inflicted.

It’s worrisome that we really do not have a solid knowledge of who is doing this, why they’re doing it and what their plans are for it in the future.

And it’s disturbing that some people don’t even believe it’s a real medical malady.

These are people who’ve dedicated their lives to serving our country in foreign lands, and I think that’s just a slap in the face to imply they’re malignering or it’s “all in their head”.

At the minimum, (especially after reading the Comments at the YouTube site) – we at least owe them the benefit of the doubt.

Republicans Fixate on LGBT Discrimnation [sic]

At ~ the 0:40 mark I was dumbstruck by the words spoken – so I had to find out who this monster is.

No surprise, it’s a Steven Anderson who’s a “pastor” of the Talibangelical christianist cult that meets in a strip  shopping center called faithful word baptist church (they don’t deserve capitalization) in Tempe, AZ.

That quote came from a BBC documentary: “America’s Hate Preachers”.

    From the documentary:

LIVINGSTON: What do you think homosexuals should do, then?
ANDERSON: Kill themselves, as far as I’m concerned, because they’re horrible, wicked people. They’re just gonna keep molesting and destroying people.

So I don’t have any advice for homosexuals, except to put a bullet in your own head….

    Not surprising, but additionally …

Steven Anderson has been banned in Jamaica (2018), Botswana (deported – 2016), South Africa (2016), the UK (2016) and Canada.  He is known for, not only the above, but also calling on the government to execute homosexuals as well as declaring there are  “50 less pedophiles in this world” after the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Besides advocating for the death of LGBT people, Steven Anderson also made an anti-Semitic film and promoted Holocaust denial (“Marching to Zion” released in March 2015 – mirror site), saying the Jews lied about the Holocaust in order to create the state of Israel, and that slave laborers at Auschwitz were compensated for their work and could buy items at a commissary.

    Making Fun of Madison Cawthorn

There are lots and LOTS of truths and lies to make fun of Madison Cawthorn

But being “douchey” looking is NOT one of them.  He is actually quite nice-looking.

    Let’s stick to the facts.

Lonely Baby Rhino Starts Wrestling With A Goat

    SQUEE!

…  the new Superman and the supermad….

Good Lord, don’t these right-wing, homophobic hate-mongers have ANYTHING better to do?

    • I am with you 110% on everything except the word “douchey,” which to me has nothing to do with looking nice or looking bad, but instead conveys “he looks like someone who would think exactly the was he does think.”  That’s not incompatible with being handsome, and I’ll give him handsome.

  4. JM: He didn’t and they’ll vote on it on Wednesday.

LP: After seeing another one of these Republican weeks, I wonder if Republicans and Democrats even live in the same country.

MSNBC: I’m really not sure what to think of it. It doesn’t get any traction outside the USA.

RA: It’s the extreme religious who can’t take no for an answer and who want to force their way of thinking on the majority of people who are good with the LGBTQ community and however its members chose to behave as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. It’s a parallel to the Big Lie. The majority has chosen to evolve and accept gay marriage and trans people but the Republicans can’t acknowledge defeat and want to have it their way at the cost of anything, including democracy.

LR: Trae is on a roll again. I liked the “heil on wheels” enormously.

    Dodo: Awww…so precious.

Beau: He’s really into super hero comics, isn’t he? I’m starting to feel a little sorry for Republicans; their world is getting smaller every day. Even the comic book heroes whom they venerated in their youth without understanding the meaning of the stories are now turning on them by being woke (that’s their nice word for being disgusted by it)
