Yesterday, the opera was “Billy Budd,” based on the novella by Herman Melville, and composed by Benjamin Britten. It goes to some dark places, and I can’t call the ending happy, though it does achieve a measure of peace. Of course the music is lovely. While it was on I organized both morning and evening meds for the next two weeks … so I am ahead of my usual accomplishment with them.

TJI #2 – Walter Shaub, who writes a newsletter for POGO on ethics in governmen has been on about the OLC, Office of Legal COunsel, one small (and not widely publicized) entity in the DOJ which, contrary to the rest of DOL+J (which is supposed to be the peole’s law firm) does act as a law firm for the President. However, the Executive Branch also has the White House Counsel, which is described as “the President’s law firm.” I responded to the newsletter to ask him why we have both. If I do get a response, I’m not expecting it to be a personal one, but for it to appear in a future newsletter. I hope he does address it, since I actually do want to know.

Buy, the pure blooded, right-winged, soon to be raptured up folks have nothing other than BS with which to make any claims. Those speaking out are not the kids about whom they are supposedly so worried, and may even be indicating, to the kids, that they ought to feel guilty. The guilty ones are themselves, as they continue to hide the actual truth about the institutional racism that they so happily sustain!
