Yesterday, I did my best to rest. I worked a little more on that last cotton project I mentioned … I had to undo some after discovering I was working on the wrong side. But not too much. And it gives me a second chance to get a color change over short rows right. So I’m not complaining.

  1. Sounds like you’re coming along nicely with your project. Good for you.
AP: Wow! Good to know.. a great article. THX!
L&C: Right up the road, (Austin). IANAD…but this is sickening behavior. Glad that this guy was found out, and apprehended.
The Guardian: Wow! Holy Cannoli ! I did not know about this, but will be passing this article on to friends. wow!!!
FFT: A great and good to know PSA.

This Just IN: ‘Again, for those in the back.’ “The Filibuster is nowhere to be found in the Constitution and has become an untenable stumbling block for our democracy. It must go.” ~ Senator Alex Padilla ~
    2. “The @StateDept is thrilled to welcome Jessica Stern as the new Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ persons. Her advocacy has helped reform outdated laws and institutions and improvesafety and equality for LGBTQI+ persons worldwide.” ~ Wendy R. Sherman, DeputySecState ~
    3. “My wish list for today: 1) Kill the filibuster 2) Kill the debt limit 3) Fire Louis DeJoy 4) Arrest Matt Gaetz 5) Indict Donald Trump. Am I asking for too much?” ~ Jon Cooper ~
    4. “I can’t believe people are buying so much of the horse de-wormer that there isn’t enough for the horses.” ~ Molly Jung-Fast ~
    5. “It’s loopholes like this one that killed 700 Texans in February. This corruption and incompetence will continue to take the lives of our fellow Texans until we put public health and safety ahead of the profits of Abbott’s biggest donors.” ~ Beto O’Rourke ~

    • TJI #1 – Yup. I know why some Democrats are worried about this. A sane minority does need protection against a less-sane majority. But the filibuster doesn’t do that – it does the opposite – even when the sane minority is willing to use it. It also once could be used to call attention to injustice. Today social media does a much better job of that.
TJI #2 – It wpuld be nice if such an asvocate were not needed. But she is. And we finally have her.
TJI #3 – The only one of those which couldn’t be done today is firing DeJoy. Despite all the publicity, to many people still do not know that he cannot be fired by anyone except the Postal Board of Governors. The Board chairman who is responsible for keeping DeJoy on cannot be fired either. But his term expires (I think Dcember 5th) and he can ne non-renewed, and he will be. After that, DeJoy can be fired. Unlike the filibuster, this is a matter of LAW.
TJI #4 – Oh, I can believe it. I’ve been paying attention.
TJI #5 – Sadly, that’s not going to happen, unless Abbott is ousted. And, unless Texans elect a Democrat, even that will only substitute the next guy’s donors for Abbott’s.

the World becomes a healthier place.”

    • TJI#1: Agree 100%.
      TJI#2: Wonderful news.
TJI#3: 1, 2, 4 and 5, I agree with him. 3. Thanks for the info on dEjoy, Joanne. I was unaware of that. Hopefully after December 5 he can be removed.
TJI#4: Poor horses. Crazy fool. what part of it’s not for humans and it’s doesn’t help Covid-19 don’t they understand?
TJI#5: Shameful. He doesn’t give a flipping hoot about the people.

  2. AP News: interesting fact. I would of thought unvaccinated one would carry more of the actual virus.
L & C: Glad they caught this him. Hope they can pin more on him, so he’ll be locked up for a long time.
The Guardian: I watched her speak on 60 minutes last night. Was amazed to hear of all of the files/data that she copied and will be turning over to the federal regulators. Her attorney said she had the right to do it too. Good for her. Strange that Fakebook and other sites have been offline all day???
Food for Thought: Wish they would flip their seats.
Happy that you were able to catch up on your rest yesterday. Hope your day is going well today too.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

    • Colleen, the point of the AP article is that it’s NOT a fact at all.  This is a weekly column they have to debunk fake stuff which has been getting passed around.  Sort of like a “Snopes-of-the-week.”  That’s what makes it so valuable.  Some of us (like me on this one) can get it debunked before we even hear it – and therefore be ready for the lies to come.

  3. Facebook whistleblower to claim company contributed to Capitol attack

She did exactly as promised!  And it was BEAUTIFUL!!!

  4. AP: A sort of fact check in the extreme as the base of any statement mentioned here is completely untrue and the “news” absolutely fake. The best thing about it is that it not only debunks these false claims but shows in detail how the claim developed. Good stuff!

L&C: I hope Ryan Faircloth is held in limbo, i.e. in jail, for a very long time between state and federal charges.

TG: This just made headlines here too. It wasn’t a good day for Facebook after its six-crash. I understand it lost 5% of its value at the stock market because of the crash and the whistleblower. I hope she’s under very good protection.

FFT: Perhaps the fact that they don’t live in those states makes them the Democratic voters they are.

    • Since people often (though far from always) “inherit” their politics, you have a point.  But that doesn’t mean they’d lose  them moving there … particularly since Terry has in mind people who work remotely and would therefore keep thei r work environment.
