Meidas Touch: Indeed – what the hell has happened to the Republican Party? They are no longer the Party of Lincoln. They are no longer the Grand Old Party. They are the party of KTA: Kissing Trump’s A**.
DWH: Biden at least had the b*lls to pull us out of Afghanistan. Remember that George W sent our troops there in the first place. Obama was to chickendoody to get us out, tRump promised to withdraw but of course reneged. Afghanistan was going to be a s–tshow no matter who ended our engagement and no matter how long we remained.
Figliuzzi: The police knew what was going to happen. They could have squelched the 6 January raid in minutes. But because those nutbags were white – and conservative – police intervention was much lighter than it could have been, than it should have been.
LPLP: If you’re not white and you protest, you are a terrorist. That is the attitude of our f—ed society. Raid the nation’s capitol, smash windows, steal podiums, and as long as you-all are white, you’re “tourists.” Protest against racism or ecological destruction, and if you’re Black or First Nations or some other non-Caucasian race, you’re no different from the Al Qaeda wackos who flew planes into buildings. The USA is having a time of reckoning for its oppression of nonwhites and casual rape of the planet. We can return to the path towards true justice, or we can continue to plummet into fascism.

Beau: Before Roe v Wade, the well-to-do had private doctors perform abortions, or traveled to countries where it was legal; everybody else resorted to knitting needles or sought out “back alley” practitioners. Anti-abortion laws do not protect the sanctity of human life. Period. They make life more dangerous for those who are already born. Women and girls who can’t get abortions will simply strangle their newborns, or abandon them in garbage cans or out in the woods.
Hillary may actually be closer to saintly than you think. Most of what is believed against her is compleyetely made up out of the imaginations of misogynists. And of course for political reasons. Much like Richard III, who, if one looks at actucl documentation and not at the stories, yuu will find never killed anyone (or had anyone killed) outside of battle, was as generous to his personal enemies as much as he was to anyone else (which was quite a lot), and was actually the kind of guy you might very well have enjoyed sitting down and having a hyssop with – or a beer if that’s your thing.
