Yesterday I saw my doctor … he loves seeing me because I am organized when I go there, have updated and printed my list of meds and anything else I’m doing to my body (like the TENS, of which he approves “no side effects”) Sadly (though I’m glad he mentioned it) I learned from him of the death of the husband of a former nurse of his, whom I consider a good friend. I was not as close to her husband, but he did take care of one of my cats for the last year or so of his (the cat’s) life (he [the husband] was a DVM). When I got home I immediately tried to reach Terri but had to leave a voicemail.

Crooks and Liars – Conservative Dems Block Extending Moratorium On Evictions
Quote – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes told Jake Tapper, “There were many, frankly a handful, of conservative Democrats in the House that threatened to get on planes rather than hold this vote.” Instead of passing the buck and all the blame to the Jim Jones party, AOC also held her party accountable. “We cannot, in good faith, blame the Republican Party when House Democrats have the majority.”
Click through for deets. Even though the next take supersedes this one, there’s still some info worth knowing in it.

The 19th – ‘Our movement moved mountains’: How Cori Bush’s protest led to a new eviction moratorium
Quote – For days, Rep. Cori Bush demanded that President Joe Biden and lawmakers in Congress move to reinstate a federal eviction moratorium that had expired on Saturday, putting millions of people at risk of being removed from their homes. She protested outside the U.S. Capitol building and slept in a chair on the Capitol steps for three nights.
Click through for story. Cori Bush is a hero. The 19th is a relatively new (OK, quite new) outlet, but I like its emphases. Rep Bush isn’t a Senator, but she must make up a little for Hawley.

HuffPost – Madison Cawthorn Tweet Sparks Suspicions He’s Part Of Trump’s Shadow ‘Cabinet’
Quote – [Maggie] Haberman criticized Meadows on CNN Monday for “playing into” the outlandish conspiracy theory that the former president will somehow be “reinstated.” “The reality is that former presidents don’t have Cabinets and they don’t have Cabinet meetings,” she said. “This just creates this expectation for some of Trump’s supporters who are looking for permission … to keep believing that there’s some alternate universe.”
Click through if you can stand to. What a maroon. There are some good snide tweets though.

  1. Cartoon: I remember this day. How sad.
C&L: Thank the Lord, with the extension that will give them time to set the relief for these folks. Thankfully, Rep. Bush and others, (Rep. Jackson Lee, Rep. Rashida Talib) joined to get it extended.
HP: Love! the Blue United States! vs. TOT’s states… Yes, the tweets are hilarious!!

Glad that you got your Dr’s visit out of the way and tht it went well, shame to read of the death of the husband of a former nurse. Hope that you have a good day, and Thank You, Joanne.

This just in: “I don’t know if Cuomo did what they say he did, but let’s not do another Al Franken. Do not leave until Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, Ted Cruz leave us. For once play by the same rules as the GOP.
    ~ Lee H. ~
    2. “The “you lost, get over it” crowd from 2016 now wants to impeach Biden, because they lost and they’re never going to get over it ~ Jeff Tiedrich ~
    3. “I have plenty of respect for Meghan’s parents. It’s too bad she can’t take responsibility for her own actions. That’s the problem with entitlement—it’s dangerous. And so is our failure to hold powerful people accountable.” ~ Mary L. Trump ~
    4. “On January 6, Officer Gunther Hashida fought valiantly to defend our nation’s Capitol from a violent mob of domestic terrorists. He risked his life in service of his country. May his memory be a blessing — for his family and for this country. ~ Rep. Adam Schiff ~
    5. Re: Cuomo – “They are throwing this guy out of office. TOT – But they didn’t run THIS guy out of office?? Why?”
    ~MemeZash~

    • TJI #1 – Yes.
TJI #2 – “Do as I say, not as I do!” And many other “old sayings.”
TJI #3 – I would have more respect for her parents if they had raised her less entitled.
TJI #5 – Right now, Cuomo is merely under moral pressure to resign, and is refusing. Trump** was placed under a lot of moral pressure to resign more than once and refused. The difference is that New York is one state, not all states. New York may be able to focus and use the pressure differently than the country did. Or not.

    • TJI #3 – I’m lost.  Who’s Meghan?

    • TJI #1: This was the gist of my comment yesterday on Cuomo needing to resign.

  2. ‘Toon: The GOP was just warming up, practicing its liar style.
    C&L: Infuriating!
    19th: Cori rocks!
HP: These folks, from Meadows down, are treasonous!
FFT: Nice try, but maybe still too subtle for too many!

  3. Glad your doctor’s appointment went well.  Sorry to hear of your friend’s loss.

    … AND

How Cori Bush’s protest led to a new eviction moratorium

Bottom Line: Democrats did NOT cover themselves in glory WRT managing this issue.

Madison Cawthorn Tweet Sparks Suspicions He’s Part Of Trump’s Shadow ‘Cabinet’

Madison Cawthorn is an IDIOT!  (So it’s reasonable he’d be a Trumpkin acolyte.)

  4. Cartoon: Sad indeed.
C&L: Awful that these conservative democrats weren’t showing concern over this critical issue. I was happy yesterday when I heard it did go thru.
19th: Bless Cori Bush for all that she did to get this passed.
HP: Crawthorn . . .What a flipping fool.
Food for Thought: Wish the idiot, tRump would see this chart.
Nice to hear that your doctor visit went well yesterday. Sorry to hear about your friend Terri’s loss. Hope you were able to connect with her.
I went to see my arm specialist this afternoon. She said my elbow was looking good, with it only being 5 weeks since the surgery. She will be putting in for more P.T. I mentioned that I did get my TENS unit supplies late last week. I really enjoy using it over taking any type of medication.
Hope you have a nice evening.
    Take care. Thanks Joanne

  5. So glad your doctor’s appointment went well, Joanne. I hope you can reach your friend soon so you can give her your condolences and whatever she may need from you in this difficult time.

Cartoon: Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican. Lies, thy name is Republican American President.

C&L: AOC holds the key to how to go forward: No more hypocrisy; hold the right ones accountable, even if that means pointing the finger at your own party members.

19th: Well played by both ladies. Cori put the eviction ball back in Biden’s court and while it may be a watered-down version, it will still protect millions from eviction shortly.

HP: Madison Cawthorne thinks he has it made because he sat at a table with the former guy and wants the world to know about it. That was some very expensive selfie, Madison. You probably forgot you had to pay $50,000 for the seat or did your daddy want to buy you a place in the very shadowy cabinet.

FFT: Awsome. If nothing else, this was certainly food for my sense of humour.
