It’s a groggy painful day here in the CatBox.  I spent most of the morning fighting pain.  With my 3 PM dose Hospice increased my Methadone dose from 15 mg to 18 mg every 8 hours.  I can tell the difference, but I think I’ll need more.  I did Republicate twice  and slept for the rest of the day.  Please pray that this increase will ease my pain.

Today’s took me 4:54 (average 4:46).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Cartoon: What a crying shame!
    BFTP: Excellent!

You certainly know what you need for you. Get your meds/dosage at the level for your pain, and for what you feel most comfortable with. Glad to read that you Republicated, it’s a great day when that happens. The less R’s the better. imho! Hope that you continue to get your rest and nap, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

You can be hypocrite demagogues, though.” ~ Ana Navarro-Cardenas ~

    • TJI#1: The planet’s axis has tilted, just a bit, because of the massive loss of ice, which also does not care what party anyone belongs to.
      TJI#2: Uh, oh, straight news.
      TJI#3: Insurrection?  What about Benghazi?
      TJI#4: Don’t hold your breath.
TJI#5: Those “best days” were hardly best, unless one believes in the tooth fairy, and other silly stories.

    • TJI #1 – They won’t be asking me, because I won’t be around. But it’s a good point.
TJI #2 – Indeed – but it takes so bloody long.
TJI #3 – You ca’t say “you can’t” to anyone who doesn’t live in reality, but in a fantasy universe. Or rather, sure, you can say it, but it will be ungeard and unheeded.
TJI #4 – And he’s not the only one who wants that. Sadly, though, if it happens, it will be a circus … Trump** will dislay all the behavior which sane people hate so much and his base loves so much.
TJI #5 – I do hope she can take that Senate seat. But I also want her in Congress one way or another, so I also hope, if she can’t, she will stay in the House.

  2. Glad you can tell the difference, a good sign, I have to think.
‘Toon: That’s how they get their jollies.
    CSN: Such a marvelous sound!

  3. So sorry about the pain. I’m glad the increase helped, but I agree you’ll probably need more – both because you think so, and also (no evidence, but) based onm y own experiences with pain and your descriptions of your day-to-day over the years.

File under “You really, really cannot make this stuff up.”

Cartoon – At least by then they had figured out not to test these things anywhere there were any people. What was done in Los Alamos was simply unconscionable. I do recognize the value of testing in science, but I also think that, at that point, testing was mostly posturing – they knew damned well what it would do.

Blast – As I said, I often look these up, and this one led me on a wild goose chase. It was written by a guy named Fred Neal but basically introduced by another guy named Harry Nilsson, a tenor with a three-and-a-half-ovtave range. That is so spectacular, I immediately wondered whether he was any (it would have to be somewhat distant) relation to Birgit, the opera singer. I found absolutely nothing – I guess Nilsson in Sweden is like Johnson in English speaking countries. But a range like that is noteworthy (no pun intended).

    • Wonder how this sexual trafficker/abuser is feeling now that his ex-girlfriend has decided to join in and help cooperate with federal authorities?

  4. Cartoon: Shame on their abuse.
BFTP: Great song by CSN&Y. Loved their songs.
Happy that they increased your Methadone, hopefully after a few of these higher dosages they will start helping with your pain.
Glad you got some sleep; hope you can continue getting more.
    Prayers being sent your way.
    Do take care. Thanks Tom

  5. Always hoping for the best pain control for you…..

  6. At least your pain management is moving in the right direction.

I understand their need to titrate dosages, but I would encourage you to be as GENTLY forceful as possible in making your needs known.  (I mean, it’s not like you’re going to hit the streets looking for a score.)

  7. I put this up last night as the first tp comment, i.e. just after you put your article up, TomCat. But it mysteriously disappeared. Now I’m last again, where I belong, I suppose.

    —————————————————————————————

If you need more painkiller to be in less pain – pain-free seems completely out of the question – just ask. Don’t wait, don’t suffer. Hospices aren’t there to begrudge you your pain medication, TomCat.

Cartoon: The people of Bikini are still suffering the consequences.

BFTP: That song brought a whole string of memories along. Other C, S, N & Y songs but also Midnight Cowboy, that terrific performance of Dustin Hoffman, delivering one of the strongest character performances of his career as Ratso, his incredibly sad demise in the bus and John Voight ‘s character just leaving him there, back to Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin'”…

  8. Thanks and painful hugs to all.

    I need a Republication break
