It’s a tired, painful day here in the CatBox.  Yesterday, WWWendy and I did some computer work and the excessive heat (82° F) kept me from getting decent rest.  Today we are having our special BBQ ribs feast for the residents, the staff, ‘Oh’, and ‘Shit’.  Sunday  they are increasing my Methadone another 10%.  I insisted on waiting until after the feast, so I don’t sleep through it.  Please pray that both the feast and the methadone increase is successful.

Today’s took me 6:28 (average 6:32).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Cartoon 1: Enjoy! and have a wonderful & Happy Birthday, Patty!
Cartoon 2: A very tragic & sad day.
BFTP: One of my favorite singers… love his music. I miss him.

Gee, I sure hope that they can get the AC regulated, it’s most uncomfortable when it’s not. Hi, Wendy! Hope that you have a wonderful and great day today. You are so kind to treat everyone, and I’m sure that the pups will have a good time too. Glad to read that you are getting your meds adjusted for your comfort too. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “Americans who are fully vaccinated can safely go without masks or physical distancing in most cases.” ~ CDC ~
    2. “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Greene’s decision to “verbally assault” and “abuse” Ocasio-Cortez outside the House chamber is “egregious” behavior and “a matter for the Ethics Committee.”  ~ Speaker Nancy Pelosi ~
    3. RE: A Matthew Gaetz associate – “A federal court in Orlando scheduled a “change of plea hearing” in Joel Greenberg’s case, indicating he has reached a deal with prosecutors. ~ Matt Zapotosky ~
    4. “Republicans no longer question the legitimacy of President Biden’s victory in November.” ~ House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy ~
    5. “We’ve gotten this far. Whether you choose to get vaccinated or wear a mask, please protect yourself until we get to the finish line.”  ~ The White House ~

    • TJI #1 – My understanding of “fully vaccinated” is “2 weeks after the second shot” (or “the shot” if it’s J&J.) I gather many who have been faithfully wearing the msk have reasons totally unrelated to health to want to continue, though.
TJI #2 – I really don’t know the procedure for the House to expel an elected member, but I expect it involves a good deal of due process, which could be in competition with legislating. I do trust Nancy yo be very conscientious about getting things done. (And it would not surprise me if the referral to the Ethics committee is the first step.)
TJI #3 – I’m not surprised he is flipping. I’m a little bit surprised prosecutors want him – or think he would be an effective witness. The old legal saying “You can’t polish a turd” comes to mind.
TJI #4 – Right. And the earth is flat. And unicorns roam free in Antarctica. You know, believing a lie is one thing. Believing a lie and the truth at the same time takes us inti new territory.
TJI #5 – ndeed. If you can’t protect yourself, stay away from sane people.

    • TJI#1: Moving right along.
TJI#2: Greene needs to be moved right along, out of congress.
      TJI#3: Music to my ears!
TJI#4: McCarthy is as full of BS now, as he has been al along.
TJI#5: But, some people are determinedly, insistently, happily, ignorant.

  2. Do have a wonderful meal, and I hope you have minimal pain and cooler temperature. 82° is just beginning to be comfortably warm for me, but I do know how I feel at 102°F, and I’m sure that’s how you’re (or swere) feeling – uncomfprtble indeed. I wish you as much fun as the pups are going to have with all the attention from the residents, let alone the food.

Darkside ransomware gang says it lost control of its servers & money a day after Biden threat. Smirk.

    Cartoon – Happy Birthday indeed!

Cartoon #2 – Actually that counts as lynching. Not all lynchings were done with ropes.

Blast – Was there ever a song he covered which wasn’t upbeat? I certainly can’t think of one.

  3. Cartoon: Wishing you a wonderful birthday, Patty. Enjoy your special day.
Cartoon 2: Tragic. Shameful it even happens…It’s got to STOP.
BFTP: Beautiful song. Another great singer we’ve lost.
Sure hope that they can do something with the A/C there. Hate when these units don’t work properly.
Do tell Wendy, Hello and thank you” for me. I appreciate all that she does for you.
Hoping you have a wonderful time today and that you and the people there enjoy the nice meal that you and Wendy planned.
Glad to hear that they will be increasing your methadone. Pray that it does help ease the pain.
Again, enjoy the feast today. Do take care.
Prayers and blessing sent your way.
    Take care Tom

  4. Hope your planning results in all the enjoyment you hope for TC and that AC efficacy is restored soon for a more comfortable temperature.
Cartoon: still happening 50 years later, sad that it has gotten so little effort to make it change.
    Thanks for the Denver tune.
Joanne–the House has two ethics committees still.  One that is members of Congress, and one that is not.  The latter one might do a better job.  And findings do force resignations and expulsions historically.  It would also be the vehicle for Gaetz if he gets charged with a crime and for Boebert and Green’s alleged crimes at the state level.

  5. Hoping for better for you, TC.
    Happy B’day, PAT!
‘Toon: right at the time of the end of the U.S.’s “Great Migration” OUT of the South!
Love John Denver.  Pam knew him before he move to NYC, and took on that moniker.

  6. The John Denver video reminded me of a parody I heard in high school:

Budgie on my shoulder makes me nervous,
Budgie on my shoulder leaves a spot,
Budgie on my shoulder bites my earlobe,
Budgie on my shoulder – thanks a lot!

  7. I hope your spare-rib fest was worth waiting to take your methadone, TomCat, and that you had a good and pain-free rest afterwards.

    Enjoy a lovely day, Patty.

Cartoon: Nothing changed much since then.

BFTP: This is my favourite song by John Denver. For years I used to sing this as loudly as I dared whenever I was down to cheer myself up. I hadn’t heard it for a long time; hearing it now I remembered all the lines but I was singing them through tears.

  8. Thanks and hugs to all.  I’m done in!
