May 012021

It’s a busy time and the beginning of a new month here in the CatBox.  Yesterday I slept most of the early part of the day.  WWWendy stopped by, and I found that she had already done most of my EOM paperwork.  This morning I woke up and tried to Republicate all by myself with no suppository or any other external help.  Would you believe that there was actually a Republican in the bowl!??!  I slammed the lid down fast so it couldn’t get away, but I think congratulations are in order.  Have a wonder weekend!

  1. Cartoon: No one (rich/poor/or in between) should ride Ellies. They are magnificent creatures that need to be respected and loved. The matriarchs take care of business within the herd. Leave them alone. Just my opinion.

Yes, Congratulations!! So glad to read good news! when you Republicate. It’s a great and worthy day when you do, and for your health. (and for others in the same situation). Hope that you have a restful, calm, and peaceful day. Get your rest, take good, good care, and Thanks! so much Tom.

  2. Congratulations indeed! I just hope you didn’t slam the lid down hard enough to break it agan.

From the Huffington Post in an email:

President Joe Biden has spent his first 100 days pushing massive spending bills, proposing higher taxes and enacting progressive policies. But unlike his Democratic predecessor, President Barack Obama, a mass movement in opposition hasn’t materialized yet.
At this point in his presidency, Obama faced the Tea Party revolt. On April 15, 2009 ― Tax Day ― thousands of protesters took to the streets in cities across the U.S. to demonstrate against high taxes and increased government spending following the Great Recession. In Washington, D.C., a crowd even forced a temporary shutdown of the White House after they hurled tea bags onto the executive mansion’s lawn.
Republicans insist the same type of backlash is coming for Biden if he continues down the path he’s on. But the party, still reeling from years of Donald Trump and a Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, faces a problem: some of Biden’s policies are very popular.

Anyone besides me think you know what the actual difference is (hint: it’s not the policies)?

Cartoon – and shoot them, too. Grrrrr.

Blast – Such a sweet song. The “two cats” is such a nice touch, too. I hope choosing it means you are feeling at home where you are. But it also makes me think of the Carters and the Bidens.

  3. Was that McConnell, finally?
‘Toon: May the elephant tromp them into the dust.
    BFP: Wodnerful!

  4. So glad you succeeded without the aids even TC!  One of my favorite songs of theirs–thanks!  They were well known for picking up hitchhikers in The Bay Area, especially after their concerts there…used to run into new stories of that ride pretty often.
Joanne–I’m with you on that one.  The funders of the TP are more focused on voter suppression just now.

  5. So glad, TomCat, that you were able to eliminate at least one Republican all by yourself!  How nice that you are in a comfortable situation with WWWendy still taking good care.

  6. Cartoon: Shame on them. BFTP: Great song. I’ve always been a big fan of CSNY.
Wonderful news, TomCat…Congratulations on being able to Republicate. Hope it continues that direction.
That was nice of Wendy to already have some of your EOM paperwork completed/taken care of. Bless her for that.
Hope you had a peaceful first day of May and were able to get your rest.
    Take care. Prayers your way.

  7. I repeat my congratulations, TomCat. Keep up the good work and thank WWWendy for doing the same with your paperwork.

Cartoon: Only the 1% gets to shoot the elephants too.

BFTP: This is such a lovely song but hearing it makes me a little melancholy these days. I do miss this kind of homely intimacy.

  8. Thanks and tired but blessed Sunday Hugs to all!
