The Lincoln Project – Well, this is interesting. I believe it’s called “stiring the s***.”

Meidas Touch – “Impressed?

Really American – Mo Brooks

Glenn Kirschner – I’m glad he’s taking this up … and has information on a petition (which I’ll spare you tracking down through Twitter)

Earth Day – “Trash TV” – Every time this video is watched, it will fund the removal of one piece of plastic from the ocean. I don’t know for sure if that is true for embeds, but you can always click through just in case.

LPLP – “Welcome home, Rattler! Michael β€œRattler” Markus, “who served during the NoDAPL protests as an Akicita (defender), positioned between police and water protectors to keep everybody safe, was arrested in February of 2017. He subsequently accepted a plea to a civil disorder charge stemming from his presence on Oct. 27, 2016 β€” when law enforcement assaulted unarmed water protectors with sound cannons, tasers, bean bags, rubber bullets, and pepper spray.” Sprry about the spring plains wind, which can be heard throughiut.

  1. I happened upon this and wanted to share it on this Earth Day.  These words at the end of the video are NOT just words but powerful information that we must heed if this earth even has a chance to survive.  Here is the article that goes with the video.

Meat production is estimated to double by 2050.

80 billion animals are currently slaughtered every year.

This number does not include sealife.

How will we feed 160 billion animals per year.

    By clearing forests.

But we’ve already cleared 50% of the world’s forests.

And trees are natural carbon capturing devices.

Climate change is imminent if we do not adopt a plant-based lifestyle.

    Every day is Earth Day.

I am not going to say that I follow this religiously, not even often enough.  I did try to go vegan but my health did not react too well to my efforts.  I have moved towards that goal by almost eliminating beef from my diet.  I do however still eat chicken and some fish.  But one dish I like and eat several times a week is a Buddha Bowl — brown rice, diced butternut squash, sliced carrots, edamame beans, braised red cabbage, beets, tofu, kale (I am not a fan) and micro greens.  I also add celery and zucchini.  As I understand, brown rice has arsenic in it so I want to try this with a base of lentils instead of the rice.

Here is a little information about arsenic.

As a result of human activities, arsenic pollution has been rising.

The main sources of arsenic pollution include certain pesticides and herbicides, wood preservatives, phosphate fertilizers, industrial waste, mining activities, coal burning and smelting.

Arsenic often drains into groundwater, which is heavily polluted in certain parts of the world.

From groundwater, arsenic finds its way into wells and other water supplies that may be used for crop irrigation and cooking.

So a lot of pollution, not just from arsenic, comes down to human activity.

What are we going to do about it?????

    • Tell me about vegetables! I am allergic to soy and peanut, which means the fewer beans of any kind I eat, the safer I am.  Cruciferous vegetables (which include most of my favorites) aresupposed to be consumed very lightly if one has thyroid issues (which I do.)  Con is not even a vegetable really, but a grain, and it’s one I can react to if overexposed.  That would appear to leave carrots and squashes, and maybebeeets.  As far as I know I can have both – carrots are too sweet for my palate for me to eat them in large quantities.  As far as I know I can have most squashes, but the danger of living on only one or two foods (especially if one already has allergies) is anaphylaxis.

I applogize for the rant – I really am grateful you shared this.  Please don’t hesitate to share any video you find coompelling.

WOW! Mitch McConnell v Donnie Trump in a Fight to the Finish!
Who to root for (or against) is a true conundrum!
Bottom Line: Is it possible for BOTH of them to LOSE?
    Impressed?
    Dan Crenshaw: CRICKETS!

    it’s a start …
    USPS Board: DeJoy
Hey, Board: DO YOUR JOB and GET RID OF DeJoy
5 Things Cats Do Better Than Humans!
Now THAT’S a list that goes on and on and on and …

    • Biden’s three nominees need to be confirmed before the Board will fire DeJoy.  IIRC they all had confirmation hearings today  I don’t know when they will reach the Senate floor.

And on the cats – yes – that’s why he had to limit it to five in a single vid.

    • AMEN Nameless on cats!  And while Lona brings up a point about mice, cats frequently bring their trophies back to their humans much to their chagrin!  Nothing like boasting for a cat!  Personally, I am not a fan of cats with mousy breath.

  3. LP: If the former guy doesn’t start to itch somewhere soon, he hasn’t seen this ad. 06

MT: They’ve got a brilliant editor working for them. Never was said so much in so few seconds, all thanks to editing.

    RA: Another reminder.

JM: If Kirschner gets behind it, the USPS may finally get its board that will remove DeJoy.

FTO: I’ve been getting my piece of plastic from the ocean daily for nearly 6 months now. One piece at a time isn’t much, but it helps.

LPLP: Glad Rattler is finally out of jail where he should never have been in the first place.

C&M: Let’s start with catching mice. There’s a plague of them out here and Molly does so much better than me with my abundance of traps.

  4. Thanks JD.  35  I’m afraid I’m too pooped for videos.
