It’s a very painful day here in the CatBox.  I been trying to Republicate without success.  What I did produce was bloody.  I now have a suppository up my butt and am am hoping for results.  I hope I do better soon.  The staff here are great, considering that I am such a crappy patient.  WWWendy may visit me later.   Success at last.  I’m drenched in sweat and the throne is full.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 5:16 (average 5:20).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Cartoon: Yes, absolutely!
BFTP: Took my breath away, it still does!!

Early HI to Wendy. Glad to read that you are more comfortable now … Glad you are pleased with the staff there, they do sound wonderful. Hope that you get your rest, and have a good day. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: H/T- JD –  “The majority of House Republicans who voted to impeach former President Trump in January saw fundraising gains in the first three months of the year despite intense backlash from members of their own party, according to new financial disclosures. The fundraising hauls come  amid a growing divide within the party, as Trump and his allies threaten  to support primary challengers against those who voted to impeach him.” ~ Julia Manchester ~
    2. “Dear MT Greene and Rep Gosar: “I have some questions about your Anglo-Saxon caucus: Will non Aryans be allowed to join? If so, do we have to sit in the back of the room because we’re not white? Can we have fried rice and nachos during the meetings? Asking for a friend.”  ~ Ted Lieu ~
    3. MT Greene – aka – “Q Twit.” ~ Michael A. ~
    4. “Just like Al Capone, the Feds are going to get them all. (the R’s) ~ Sharr L. ~
    5. “Fauci would have thought twice about career in medicine had he known it meant someday talking to Jim Jorden” ~ Andy Borowitz ~

    • TJI #2 – If we took the time to look at it, we might be surprised by how many treasures we actually have in Congress. I’m talking about bright and clever people who not only understand what truth is but can and do also express it in very witty ways. Like Ted Lieu.
TJI #3 – Cute – and a lot shorter than “Empty Green.”
TJI #4 – I haven’t lost hope of that. And I haven’t lost patience either. It’s going to take patience. “The mills of God” and “The arc of the moral universe” always require more patience to come to fruition than most people have. Deep breathing probably helps.
TJI #5 – LOL! While Andy has a point, I think Dr. Fauci is enough of a realist to know that there is no career in which he could have avoided running up against Jim Jordan’s ilk sooner or later.

    • TJI #1: That sounds very hopeful but don’t forget they vote with the GOP on every other issue.

TJI #2: The only answer to those White Supremacists is humour/irony. They don’t understand it and do not know how to counter it.

TJI #3: Can’t we just call her Barf? The ‘Q’ is so hard to find on the keyboard.

      TJI #4: Promise?

TJI #5: Every career has its Jim Jordan, believe me.

  2. Never thought I’d be applauding someone for being able to republicate, but….
It is nice to know that the staff are “great.”
‘Toon: I recall it all too well, and my naive surprise that the fellow(?) who was by his bedside did not write down the words he was said to have uttered, as he died.
    I love the Moody Blues!

  3. TJI#1: NICE news!
TJI#2: I love me some Ted Lieu.
    TJI#3: How about Q Tip?
TJI#4: I can just imagine how Faux News will light up, when the first indictments come down!  I gave a ride to a fellow birder, yesterday, on a longish trip to Ft. DeSoto, to try to catch the warbler migration, here.  I neither hit him in the head with a tire iron, nor threw him from the car,but his total immersion in the Faux News universe was eye opening.  Among the other garbage he parroted, (not meant as a pun, I saw my first Nanday parakeets yesterday) he hit on how Biden is working to “pack the courts.”  He had no idea that that is exactly what McTurtle and TOT did over the past 4 years.
TJI#5: with the gov’t, reportedly about to open its records about UFO sightings, Fauci, and the rest of us,  may finally understand where Jordan comes from.

  4. First, an announcement. If you haven’t already, please check out Freya’s first post! Scroll down to the bottom of the blank comment (or it may be the one you’re typing in, if you’re typing) … see under the blue “submit” butt on the left it says “SOUND OFF!” … click there.

TC, I don’t doubt it’s painful, but this is also the first day since the move you have beat the average on the puzzle. That’s progress – small, but sure. (But do flush that throne, if you haven’t already!)

Cartoon – Besides everything else he re[resents, he’s the title character in the only opera in Philip Glass’s “Portrait Trilogy” which I haven’t seen. (And am not likely to – it’s over 5 hours long.)

Blast – I always heard this as “knights.”

  5. Cartoon:
BFTP: Great song. One of my favorite songs by the Moody Blues.
Sorry to hear that you’re having no success trying to Republicate today. Glad that the staff their is staying on top of it, with giving you a suppository. Now that I reread your post, I see it helped, Thank God.
Tell Wendy “Hello” if she makes it over today.
Please try to get as much rest as you can.
    Take care.
    Thanks Tom

  6. Glad to hear you were successful after some suppositorian intervention, TomCat. They probably already told you that the blood is nothing to worry about, as you probably burst a hemorrhoid with all the straining. No worries but very painful nevertheless. Next time just ask for a suppository and try to minimize that exhausting and painful work.

Cartoon: Einstein was quite a complicated character. When young, he was ruthless, even spiteful when he allegedly stole his first theories from his brilliant wife Mileva Marić or at the very least denied any contribution on her part. In later life, he became quite the humanitarian and would have said something among those lines had he lived now.

BFTP: One of the Moody Blues’ best songs.

  7. Thanks and Monday Hugs to all!
