  1. Tom, you take all the time you need to get things ‘squared away’, and learning your new schedule(s), and your room. I’ll be here to watch from a distance, and only the best of care, and positive thoughts to you, always!! Hope that you have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Lynn! Hope that you have a Fantastic Birthday! and enjoy your Special Day!! 23

Cartoon: “The Bay of Pigs Invasion in April 1961 was a failed attack launched by the CIA during the Kennedy administration to push Cuban leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016) from power.” *History

A couple TJI’s for this cool, rainy day here: “Americans favor sending Mitch McConnell to Afghanistan.” ~ Andy Borowitz ~
    2. “13 years old. Gutted by the murder of Adam Toledo. The murder of Daunte Wright. The epidemic of police violence to steal Black And Brown Lives.” ~ Joe Kennedy III ~
    3. “I was honored to welcome PM Yoshihide Sagu to the White House today as we usher in a new Era of Friendship between the US and Japan. Both Pacific nations, we are also united by our shared commitment to the universal values of freedom, democracy and human rights.” ~ President Joe Biden ~
    4. “Thank you, President Biden, for restoring mutual respect and cooperation among our allies.” ~ Amy Tan ~

    • TJI #1 – Probably by a huge margin.
TJI #3 -Joe Kennedy is a good man. But I’m not sure “epidemic” is quite the word. A 400-year epidemic? And not just the police either. Sometimes the police are less the agent and more the weapon.
      TJI #3 and #4 – Amen.

  2. Getting used to changes and forming new habits for new surroundings does take time–rarely less than 3 weeks according to the research TC.  Be gentle with yourself in the meantime, despite how frustrating you must find it.

  3. Coming off a week of operas based on fairy tales, the Met on Monday starts a week of operas openly about right versus wrong (they are calling the week “Moral Authority” week.) One of these operas is “Satyagraha” by Philip Glass about Gandhi. Unless you are up for a couple of hours of singing in Sanskrit, with no subtitles, I don’t recommend watching it. But it’s interesting what Glass was trying to do, using a lot of symbolism, tying each act to a person other than Gandhi who yet is related in some way, who is never heard from but only seen (in the third act this person is MLK and I will get a screenshot) – I find it quite moving personally. And there’s a good amount of visual interest, including huge puppets and a role for the Lord Krishna. But watching ot is not for everyone. Many people might be interested to read Glass’sintentions, however, which can be done here.

TC, you are already doing more than I for one expected. Please take your time. Not oversoing is an investment in the future.

Dear Lynn, your first birthday without Primo has got to be tough. Please do whatever you need to do to get you and the other babies through it. And that includes remembering you are loved.

Cartoon – Yeah. I was fifteen. I remember all the fuss though. I was pretty deeply involved in school (wanting to qualify to attend Stanford as I did.)

Blast – a lovely song with a story behind it.

    • WOW!  That last one is POWERFUL!

Glad you’re all settled in, TC!  Want to share photos of your new ”digs?”

    • Great meme, Joanne. For Republicans the threat may start before birth, I think.

  4. Happy Birthday, Lynn. Hope you enjoy your Special Day. May it bring you good health and happiness.
BFTP: Great one by the Beatles.
Glad to hear that you’re starting to get more use to your new room. Hope it gets to be easier each day. It’s nice learning something new. it keeps our minds active.
Do take your time. We do want you to get your rest. Plus that you’re eating and taking in your fluids without any issues.
    Prayers being sent your way.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

  5. No pressure from us, TomCat. Take all the time you need to get used to your new surroundings. I hope they find ways to manage your pain better so that you can stay in your chair a bit longer and perhaps meet some people on the premises too. How’s the food?

I hope you have a great day, Lynn.

Cartoon: Scary times after a failed action with many consequences.

BFTP: My brother and I bought the single together and played it until the groove nearly gave out.
