I have severe OIC.  The hast time I had it this bad, I had to go to the ER.  As there is no blizzard, I hoped it won’t come to that.  I’ll keep you posted.

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 7:26 (average 5:21).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

  1. Hello, TC, and hope you get some help and relief—-SOON! Let us know when you get a chance. Healing purrs headed your way! Everyone take care.

  2. Cartoon: Yikes!!
BFTP: What a great song! Love it.

So sorry to read this, and that I sure do hope your OIC pain gets remedied quickly. Praying for a speedy recovery for you. Hope that your day gets better, and take good care, Tom.

*This just in: “Before I took office, I set an ambitious goal of administering 100 million shots in my first 100 days as President. I’m proud to say that we have reached that goal, (March 18th) just 58 days in!

    • TJI #1 – It’s the last hundred million which are going to be hard – not the first hundred million. And let me say I do NOT blame people of color for not trusting the medical establishment – heaven knows they have evidence enough. “White” people have much less excuse.
TJI #5 – I would have put it differently – circumstantial as opposed to direct evidence – and alo a not to forgeries and falsifications existing – but he certainly has a point – one which everyone should take to heart.

  3. Certainly – and definitely no fun – you kinds need to be on that every second … at least every time you put anything in your mouth. And with the adjustments you’ve had lately, every second may still not be enough. I am so sorry. I hope relief is in store.

Cartoon – It isn’t the guillotine which should be so terrifying – it’s the way French Republicans used it. That IS terrifying, and should be. (I suppose there are people who are afraid of all knoves because Freddy Kruger, butnot rational people.)

Blast – Interesting you should put this song up on a Bill Maher day. Not that he rises to this level – but both contain the idea if only there were no religion, life would be wonderful The problem isn’t religion – the problem isn’t any single thing – the problem is humans.

  4. Sorry, you’re suffering, TC. I’ve had that issue, well without the opiods (which I can’t take anyway as all of them make me very sick, even though they have tried giving me an anti nausea pill with them – two foot surgeries in the last four months, ended up using ibuprofen as the opiod was horrible), so I’ve been using Metamucil for 30 years, way more than recommended, a few years ago that started not to work as well, so my doctor recommended adding Miralax to the mix. Every morning and it actually works extremely well in combination. I hope they can find you something that does work and end this problem for you! :^) gene

  5. So sorry TC–I’m with Gene that with so soon a repeat, they should be providing you with one or more proposed solutions right for you.   Prayers lifted for both the solutions and fast relief.

  6. Color me dumb, but what is OIC? Whatever it is, I certainly hope you get some relief, soon.
‘Toon: The GOP would be happy to set up a line of these at the border!
    BFP: A wonderful song.

  7. TJI’s# 1&2: Wonderful!
TJI”s# 3&4: You just can’t reason with a rather “fake” ophthalmologist, who is self-certified!
TJI#5: Dumpmy’s run is coming to an end.

  8. BFTP: Great song by John Lennon.
Sorry to hear that you’re suffering with the OIC again. That’s one thing I use to hate when I was on pain killers after my arm surgeries.
I’ve been using the generic brand of Mira-Lax for many years now.
Hope you were able to get some sort of relief. That you’re able to relax and get some rest.
    Keep us posted.
    Take Care TomCat

  9. sorry about your OIC, if prevention isn’t working there are some treatments your hospice providers should be able to prescribe…..

  10. I hope you’ve found some relief by the time I post this.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought you had methylnaltrexone (MNTX) (Relistor) for these episodes, don’t you?
    Please keep us updated!

  11. My bag of advice on obstipation is empty. I hope your hospice carers have taken care of your problem by now and you have found some relief, TomCat.

4:13 Your OIC-related pain must have kept you from concentrating.

Cartoon: Republicans prefer the DIY to a machine, though.

BFTP: So many memories flooded in…😒

  12. Hi All,

Unfortunately Relistor is not on the Hospice Formulary, so I can’t get it, and I can’t go to the ER for treatment as all hospice treatment is done in the home.  I would have to pay the entire cost of the ER.  So I am attacking it with a barrage of laxatives:  Senna and Mira-Lax mostly.  Eventually, it will break through.  In the interim, I’m wearing a diaper. and waiting.  I have gotten some sleep.  Prayers please.
