It’s a sick day here in the CatBox.  Yesterday my hospice nurse increased my methadone dose from 10 to 15 mg every 8 hours.  I’m sweating, have trouble swallowing, am shaky and feel nervous.  I called the 24 hour line and they told me to cut back until later today.  We’ll call back when Wendy is here.  I think the new dose could be too high or I could be having an anxiety attack.  I’ll keep you posted.

Today’s took me 6:13 (average 4:54).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

    BFTP: Love this one!

Oh no! Hope that your symptoms go away, and possibly get your dosage regulated. An anxiety attack is nothing to scoff at. Hi, Wendy! Hope that you get a chance to rest and relax, and take good, good care too, Tom. Rest easy!

    • TJI #1 – GOOD!
TJI #3 – Thank you for sending me to his Twitter, where he has promised a new song sometime next week. I’ll be looking out for it now!
TJI #4 – Kudos to CVS!
TJI #5 – Right on the money.

    • TJI #1 – Good for Princeton!

      TJI #4 – DeSantis is a Mini-Me Trump Wannabe – i.e., a gigantic A$$HOLE!

TJI #5 – I hope QAnon Shaman will be enjoying his federally funded organic food for decades to come!

  2. Oh dear – you knew it was going to be busy, bu not that you would not be feeling well. I do hope it gets quickly resolved.

Kudos to Minnesota for having so much fun with their snowplows. (The top line includes “Darth Blader” and “Duck, Duck, Orange Truck.”) Even better, Colorado is doing this too (but only elementary school students can enter)

Cartoon – It’s true that foreign policy is about power – but with that much (and that kind of) power you there is no foreign policy, because there is no foreign to have a policy on. But Republicans like it that way.

Blast – Another one I’m not familiar with.

  3. Sorry to hear about your added challenges today TC–remember Nameless’s advice about deep breathing, which should help whatever elements are an anxiety attack.  Hope it resolves quickly for you.

  4. Cartoon: The R’s are like Aliens when it comes to some of the off the wall things they throw at us.
BFTP: Another great song by Donavon.
Sorry to hear how bad you’re feeling this morning. I’m grateful that Wendy will be coming by soon, so you won’t be alone. I hope that Laramie will be paying close attention to how the higher dosage of the medication is affecting you. I pray that it won’t cause you to have to go to E.R. today. Please keep us posted.
Please rest as much as you can. Take care, TC

  5. TomCat,

So sorry about your latest set back.  I know it’s serious because of your puzzle time.  When I do the puzzle I’m lucky to do it in twice your time, and I marvel at your speed!
Wishing you, WWendy, and Laramie in getting you properly dosed!

    • Thanks Margaret.  Good to know I’m not the only person who looks at and silently diagnoses by) puzzle time (and I can’t come close to him either!)

  6. the snow-plow naming here in MN was fun…….hope you figure out what’s going on and get it corrected…

  7. I’m glad you called and they told you to cut back!  Sweating, felling shaky and anxiety are all common side effects of methadone.

To go from 10 mg to 15 mg q. 8 might not sound like a big jump – but that’s a 50% increase.

Hope you, Wendy & your healthcare team get it squared away!

  8. Take a deep breath, dear friend; I think Nameless is on the right track but an anxiety attack isn’t completely out of the question at this stage, is it.

I’m so sorry I have nothing more to offer that a virtual shoulder for support where it should be a real one.

  9. Thanks and Sunday Hugs to all! 23
