  1. LP: Well done!
RA: Whenever I see that smarmy face belonging to Scott, I want to stick something hard, and heavy into it. Keep at it RA!
C&L: “If these people want to note….”  Nah, they don’t.
    CNN: Well put, officer Fanon.
Standing Rock:  “We have generations, yet, to look out for.”  I dod not see a petition, but I have signed numerous petitions around this agenda.
    Raskin rocks!
Beau: Overturning a senate conviction is a fairly big “If,” I believe.  And if there is something McTurtle knows that we don’t, which could be (and I won’t trust him with anything) there could be a failure to convict, or whatever.  We will see.

  2. Of note is Lincoln Project’s “This Is YOUR Coup” video is playing in the KCMO Metro on a regular basis.  At least during news-type programs, as that’s about all I watch (other than PBS cooking shows & NCIS: Los Angeles – my only non-news show I regularly watch).

Someone commented it’s also playing in the St. Louis Metro.  I suspect it’s also likely playing in the Columbia-Jefferson City Metro.  Columbia is home to U of Missouri and Jeff City is our capital – and they’re only 25 miles apart.

Whether it’s also playing in outstate markets, I don’t know.

    • Yes, it was actually thanks to you that I found it, and thanks to responses to you that I learned it is apparently being played everywhere within Missouri and spitting distance from it.  But I don’t know how much farther than that.  I would guess Texas (Cruz) and maybe California’s 23rd (McCarthy) but I don’t know that.

  3. PS: NOTE to JD

I don’t want to steal your thunder or encroach on your Video posts, but I hope you’ll either add as Addendum or include in tomorrow’s selection “A Reporter’s Footage from Inside the Capitol Siege | The New Yorker” on YouTube.

It’s a 12-minute videographer’s shot from inside the Capitol.  To say it’s frightening and depressing is a HUGE understatement.

    • I saw it and strongly considered it.  I’ll go ahread and include it and warn people it’s long.  ProPublica has one too, it’s a compilation of clips downloaded from Parler before it went dark, and it’s curated to give the viewer a sense of being there.  I think it’s even longer, but it’s a great accomplishment.  I’ll put it up too.  Thanks!

  4. LP: Should be sponsored to show in all red states.

    RA: Amen.

C&L: For these Republicans to admit that they have been pushing Trump’s lies, they’ll have to admit they were liars too. Fat chance of that happening of their own accord. Drag them in front of a commission or judge and have them repeat their lies under oath. And even then their brainwashed followers will maintain that they admitted to lies only under duress.

CNN: Fannone was very clear on what he thought about the rioters, which makes me wonder what his thought are on MP leadership and colleagues who appeared to be in cahoots with the mob and put his life on the line.

Standing Rock: A legacy of leadership indeed. It is remarkable that for so many joining in with the peaceful protests was a life-changing event that has spurred them on to greater things.

Raskin: A man of principle and integrity, as was his son, I understand. I hope Raskin’s work in Congress will take Democrats, Biden and others to the level of progress Tommie aspired to, but couldn’t see coming for him.

AR: I think Amber, and all African-Americans, is very much entitled to be “filled with joy, and a little bit of shame, but mostly so much joy.”

Beau: He added a good point to the comment I made on McConnell’s perceived eagerness to convict Trump with the intension to become the leader of the GOP again. Beau believes that would end up before SCOTUS and Trump might win, and torpedoing McConnell’s plan.
However, Beau is quite sure that SCOTUS would judge in Trump’s favour and there’s the rub; will they? If Congress, including the GOP leadership, votes Trump guilty of calling for insurrection and vote him to be barred from seeking office again, will those Republican justices in SCOTUS dare to say Congress can’t do that and unleash another riot?

  5. All excellent videos.
I was moved by Mr. Raskin’s comments.
Ms. Ruffin… – Thumbs up! “I am literally filled with joy!”
I have watched the footage of the Capitol siege and it’s downright scary!

    Thanks, Joanne for post.

  6. THanks, JD.  Poopwd and 26,
