It’s a tired day here in the CatBox.  I should be laying down to rest my back, but Deborah, my Providence Home Health Doctor is due in an hour for a routine checkup.  My back is already hurting severely.  WWWendy and I had a fine dinner yesterday (see below). Oh God it’s Monday!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:26 (average 5:31).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

They might have done better. if criminal Fuhrer Satan* had not attacked their QBs with his plague.

Short Takes:

From NY Times: President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. twisted his ankle playing with one of his dogs over the holiday weekend, an injury that his doctor said on Sunday resulted in hairline fractures in his foot that would most likely require him to wear a walking boot for several weeks.

Although initial X-rays showed no obvious fracture, a “follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the midfoot,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the director of executive medicine at GW Medical Faculty Associates, said in a statement distributed by Mr. Biden’s office.

This is, in my opinion, President-elect Biden’s first major political blunder. He should NOT have been playing with a dawg. A DemoCAT is where his play should be AT!!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel): Biden announces all-female communications team, diverse economic team

I like these choices. More women and more women of color add diversity where it is badly needed. The only diversity in the Fifth Reich was spreading influence between Banksters, Nazis, KKK, Homophobes, Misogynists, Koch Suckers, and White Supremacists!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast for the planet): Julian Lennon – Saltwater (1991)

Never since has this song been more appropriate. RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: YAY!
Hi, Wendy! Your Thanksgiving dinner looks delicious! I hope that both of ya’ll had a wonderful time!
What a bummer! Sorry about your team’s loss.
NYT: Gosh, hope that he’ll be okay. Those boots work pretty well, and are actually ‘fairly’ comfortable. He’ll miss those jogs though… hopefully.. he can start back up soon.
CNN: This is great! I’m tickled pink!! that he’s doing this.
    ABFTP: Sad. But so true!
Sorry to read that your back is severely hurting you….hopefully, Deborah can help you…and get you to feeling better. Get your rest, take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in: “trump’s statement in his book, ‘Art of the Deal’ (that I realize he didn’t write), that if you lose at anything always deny it, insist it was the other side that lost and claim your opponents are lying. His actions are straight out of his BS playbook.” ~ Graeme D. ~
    2. “Show me a nation with a science-hostile government, and I’ll show you a society with failing health, wealth, and security. ~ Neil deGrasse Tyson ~
    3. “Cornyn is a creep – yet he beat out honorable military vet MJ Hagar by a margin of 3%. Sad the people of Texas still love their corrupt politicians like him and Cruz.” ~ Laura B. ~
    4. “BOOMERANG: trump’s pardon strategy of buying the silence of others to protect himself after his presidency could backfire because pardons erase risk of self-incrimination and thus make it easier to compel testimony that could…wait for it…incriminate trump himself.” ~Lawrence Tribe ~
    5. “Melania Trump is reportedly writing a book. It won’t be ‘Be Best’.” ~ Michael B. ~

    • TJI #3 This probably grieves you more than it grieves anyone else … but it’s certainly not limited to Texas. I don’t know that it actually means they love corruption. In our electorate, name recognition is a huge factor in all elections once a Congressman/Senator has a second term, it becomes increasingly difficult to unseat him or her. That is so well borne out by the numbers that it’s depressing.
TJI #3 The flip side is that they do not erase the risk of self incrimination in matters unrelated to the pardon. Anything Mikey, Roger, and others were in on but not convicted for they can still shut up about.
TJI #6 I have been using Gravel and Burlap. I like some plastics and many polyesters (especially polyester yarns.)

    • TJI#: Tony Schwartz ghost wrote the stupid book, which he regretted having done.  It seems that it paved the way for this jerk to become the fake president.
#2: Tyson knows his stuff, big time!
      #4: Holds some promise.

    • TJI#6: Given who currently occupies our Oval Office …

  2. That does look like a wonderful dinner! And great company! What a treasure WWWendy is!  Please rest – maybe Deborah can help?

    Georgia.

    How to understand Biden voters.

This is a familiar concept to everyone here, I think, but in case anyone needs any help putting it into words for friends/family, well, the Reich on the Left is Right – as always.

“Twain” understood cats. His many quotes about them are well known.

N’Awleans is down in the swamp. How come more Saints don’t have CoViD?

NYT – Depends on exactly when he was playing, and exactly when they acquired Winston, which was also some time over the weekend. You can’t play with a cat you don’t have yet. Cut Joe a little slack (not too much, but a little would help here.)

Blast – There are a lot of people working on cleaning up the ocean. But without government support, no matter how hard they work, it won’t be enough.

  3. Wendy, and dinner look great!
‘Toon: a good day for the world.
NYT: Oh, no, that can’t be the truth!  I know what happened, he kicked McConnell in the head, and upon coming down from that wonderful karate move he made a mis-step.  that’s my conspiracy theory and i like it!
    CNN: Sounds good to me.
Julian: The planet needs all the help it can get!  Nice!

  4. Hope you got a chance to lie down and rest your back, and it now feels better.

Your Thanksgiving feast looks a LOT better than mine did.  (I’m self-isolating, so I didn’t even go to the relatives.)  What’s in the Tupperware bowl?

Wendy is a gem!  Keep her!

  5. Cartoon: A whole new world of adventures began.
Thanksgiving Dinner: Wendy looks so cute. Dinner looks delicious.
Religious Agony: Sorry to hear about your team losing. Doggone Covid-19 virus.
NYT: Was surprised to hear about what happened to Joe. Heard on the news this morning that he’ll be wearing the boot for awhile. Hope it heals without any major issues.
CNN: Great choices Joe. Keep up the great work.
BFTP: Song our ocean/environment sure can use now.
Sorry to hear that your back is causing you so much pain. Hopefully Deborah can help take care of it when she comes over.
I went for an MRI of my right elbow this afternoon. Having to sit still holding the arm outward palm up for over 20 minutes caused it to get really sore. The report will be out by the end of the week.
I have another appointment tomorrow with the one doctor who ordered the nerve study I had a few weeks back. Plus I have a cyst that is growing in the right palm that’s painful. Will find out what she can do for it. Now with the hospitals being full of Covid-19 patients, I don’t know if they’re even allowing her to do operations tight now?
Hope you get to feeling better. Get some rest. Thanks TomCat

  6. I found this on Terrie Williams’ FB page and just had to share it.

So very true!!!  Can we say PROJECTION!!!

Before I forget, a very dear friend has just been diagnosed with lobular stage 2 breast cancer with metastatic lymph nodes.  She was given a surgery date of 24/12/20 but that has been moved up to 01/12/20 at 1100 hours.  She and her family would appreciate all the prayers and healing thoughts available.  She will, in due course, have radiation and chemo.  Thanks

  7. Sorry to hear about your back pain, TomCat. It’s about time they got this brace to you, isn’t it? And perhaps up the dosage of your patches again? Pain is debilitating and you should suffer it stoically.

    3:39 Pretty, isn’t it?

Cartoon: I’m a big fan of Mark Twain’s humour.

Cartoon: A pretty picture of what you were thankful for, TomCat.

NYT: Times are rapidly changing; just a few months ago every tweet of dear leader made headlines, now a hairline fracture in the foot of dear-leader-to-be does.

CNN: I’m all for an all-women communications team. But don’t go overboard, Joe, and make your economic team all-women too. Finding a balance is terribly important for general acceptance.

BFTP: Sad that after 30 years this song is still all too true.

  8. Thanks and Amen to all! 23

WWWendy, who looks as great as the food, returns greetings!

  9. I hear that Dr. Jill Biden would like a cat to go with the 2 dogs who will bring normalcy back to the White House.
