It’s another tired painful day here in the CatBox.  I called Evelyn’s office, and she is referring me to a surgeon to place an esophageal stent.  I hope to know more about the timing on Monday.  WWWendy should be here in less than an hour, and after my destinking, I’ll go back to bed.  This is my only article today.  I’ll try to do more tomorrow.  Have a great weekend.

  1. Hi, WWWendy! Glad that you called Evelyn’s office, for trying to get an appt. for you…getting a stent put in. Hope that you get your rest, take good, good care, and Thanks, Tom.

No TJI today, I’m bummed out about RBG’s passing. Though I will mention that November 3rd is for
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in my humble opinion.
Fly high, Lady Ginsburg, we loved you, and for all that you did for us.

  2. Like Pat, I am bummed out.  You probably are too – everyone is.  At least she’ll be organizing the heavenly choir, now with a voice as beautiful as her soul.  It osscurs to me the Verdi wrote one Requiem Mass, which all the critics complained was “too operatic.”  I think she’d understand if I listen to that for her.  And next moth, to the opera about her.

TC, I hope you get everything done and get as much rest as is possible with pain.  Hugz.

And I almost forgot – here is another petition

  3. Resist? You bet your sweet @$$ I’m gonna resist! Especially since we have lost Justice Ginsburg, we need to fight like chihuahuas on angel dust (and yes, chihuahuas can be pretty damned fierce!) if we are going to preserve democracy in the USA. I fear for this country if we get another reich-winger on SCOTUS – and even more if tRump is re-elected.

  4. Hoping things go well with Wendy and the stent.
RBG’s passing took the wind out of our sails, last night, during a gathering with a couple of friends, here.  I picture BBMM and Dumpy dancing for joy!!  Ted Cruz has already urged fast action to replace RBG, but we all already knew he is a slam dunk bastard!
I’ve read that there are some 3 supposed ways in which replacing her, for Trump, might not work, but I’m certainly not holding my breath.

  5. Glad stent arrangements are progressing and hope this kind works as well as the cardio-vascular ones I’ve been around TC.  With wildfire smoke, I’ve noted recovery/improvements after it is gone that follows the pattern they tell us about quitting smoking–some as soon as 48-72 hrs. and continuing improvements up to 2 yrs. (if no re-exposure).
I was already grieving an amazing nonagenarian woman I’d learned about the day before when RGB’s news hit.  I was amazed at Trump’s statement that was among the most appropriate he’s made.  I hope he has flags flown at half staff for the maximum length permitted by law.

  6. I too am glad that you called Evelyn. I just pray that your appointment with the surgeon for the esophageal stent is taken care of quickly. I’ll be praying that it’s exactly what you need to get your life to feeling better soon.
I’ve been grieving about the loss of RBG ever since hearing the breaking news yesterday. She’s a woman who will be missed.
I have been signing petitions all last night and today to keep mItch the bi*ch and tRump from rushing a replacement. That it should be done after the new president in elected. Hopefully that will be Biden.
Hope your visit with Wendy went well. If she’s still there tell her “hi” for me.
    Take care.
    Thanks TomCat

  7. Like everyone else..I’m greatly saddened because one of my heroes has left us!  TC…I’ve been holding good thoughts for you, with this heat and smoke.  Big hugs…

WE had a 4.5 earthquake last night!  I think I win the ”WHAT’S NEXT” contest…..

    (When do the locusts appear?)

    • Sadly, what I was taught = that locusts in the Bible (at least the New Testament) referref to carob beans, his not bee rejected by scholars.  Too bad – that could have been fun.  Sound like you are OK after the quake, anyway – hope that’s so.  Maybe the fires got the locusts.  I think we may be up tp the slaughter of first-born sons (via CoViD.)

  8. I’m glad your wellbeing has your highest priority and not the site, TomCat. I hope the stent will be put in shortly and will allow you to eat some goop again to keep up your strength to make it beyond November 3.

In the meantime, we’ll try to keep PP going with Nameless putting up a beautiful and respectful page to honour RBG. I’m sure she’ll be the centre of attention of many more articles and comments here to which you will add your bit as soon as you feel better, I’m sure.

  9. Thanks JD for another worthwhile petition — signed!

I was certainly at 6s and 7s following the announcement of RBG’s passing yesterday.  It is now up to us to ensure that her legacy lives on for future generations.

Has everyone seen this article, A package addressed to Trump containing the deadly poison ricin was intercepted this week?  I do not condone this action as there was a danger that innocent people or even Trump could have been killed.  I am just surprised that it has not happened sooner.  Word has it that the envelope was mailed in Canada.  I wonder if Trump will bump up tariffs on Canada in retaliation?
