The US House of Representatives passed a relief bill for the USPS. All the Democrats and even a handful of Republicans voted for it. It could not be more needed. However, this great bill will never become law in time to protect the votes of people, like Trump*, who vote by mail from postal sabotage by the Republican Reich.
The House of Representatives voted to approve funding for the U.S. Postal Service as Democrats accuse the Trump administration of sabotaging the mail service ahead of Election Day.
On Saturday, the House approved 257-150 to send $25 billion in funding to the USPS, as well as block any operational changes that were in place on Jan. 1, 2020, according to CNN. The bill isn’t likely to be supported by the Republican-majority Senate.
In her remarks on the floor, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the cost-cutting measures implemented by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy “degrade service, delay the mail and threaten to disenfranchise voters” as more Americans plan to utilize mail-in voting during the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Our Postal Service are the beautiful thread that connects our country, delivering sympathy and love, news and knowledge, peace and goodwill,” Pelosi, 80, said. “And as a grandmother, I will say, we have seen our children and grandchildren write their letters to Santa. We’ve seen messages come from the Tooth Fairy. We’ve seen photos and drawings of families taking joy in each other that no amount of social media can convey.”
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued a statement [Bought Bitch Midnight Moscow Mitch delinked]after the vote, calling concerns over the White House’s connections to the seeming dismantling of the USPS “conspiracy theories.”… [emphasis added]

Crazy that they called everyone back into session, to work out a plan to save the USPS and yet we have the stinking dumbas* leader and his cronies who are going to knock it down.
I hope that November 3 is going to do our country justice by cleaning out the house, starting at the top.
I read that, in Washington, the postal service (I assume that means local postmasters with postal workers) are reassembling and plugging back in the sorters which have already been casualties. We shall see what happens. The law is indeed good, and it won’t hurt to hve it already drafted in January.
May they follow suit nationwide!

What the tRump chumps don’t realize is hurting the mail service will bite them in their fat asses. There are certain things one can’t send via e-mail – life-sustaining medicine, for example.
Nanci knew this bill is never going to make it through the Trumpian Senate, Mitch McConnell is just going to put it on top of the pile of 200+ bills the Senate still has to vote one. So the question will be if Democratic voters are going to take the chance of their vote never getting to the polls by mail or risking their lives by standing in endless queues with Trumpians who think they’re invincible or that COVID-19 is a hoax and don’t wear a mask.
