It’s another hectic day here in the CatBox. I’m having a telephone visit with my nutritionist this morning, so that will kill my morning nap, and exacerbate my back pain. I guess they’re going to increase my Oxycodone instead of my Fentanyl patch strength. I disagree and will argue it at my next appointment. A patch gives constant pain relief, so increasing the strength lowers my overall pain level. Oxycodone gives yo-yo pain relief, as it is taken only when the pain level has risen, so I suffer needless pain. Please check your outhouse for Republicans. If one is hiding down there, go.

TVU: Overall, statewide, (this a.m.), 4020 over the last week. Average each per day: 112. IANAD…but it’s going to get worse every day for awhile, imho. Sad.

Had to go and see my orthopedic doctor today for my arm checkup.
As for my dental visit yesterday, They took an overall scan of my mouth. I was told I have major issues, infections down deep and major bone loss. They’re suggesting I get the four real teeth, partials, and the ones with caps all removed and get the entire lower part replaced with a full implant. It’s going to cost a major amount, but with all of the off and on dental visits, it will probably be worth it. I go in tomorrow for an hour and a half for them to take all sorts of impressions,measurements, etc. That it wouldn’t be till the last week of August or first week of September when I would go in to a 6-8 hour surgery where they would do everything, pull the existing teeth out, clean up the area and place the new full implant in. I’ll have to be on a soft food diet for up to four months. I’ll learn more about it tomorrow. They started me on antibiotics for 10 days, and will give me another 10 days up to the surgery

Implants are pricey (understatement), but they do have advantages, not the leasr of which is that they don’t cover the palate, and thus don’t interfere with your sense of taste (or your ability to sing, which is probably not critical for most peole, but is if you are a professional singer or singing teacher. I knew one once.) And I wouldn’t think the fittings would be as bad as they wuld be for a plate. Do keep us posted – and also on the aerm.

You are absolutely right with insisting on your patches to be increased in dosage and not the oxycodone. You’re in palliative care now, not curative care and the only thing that should count now is your wishes to be as comfortable and pain-free as possible. And yes, there’s the possibility they need to raise the dosage a few more time, but that should also up to you.

Update: ‘only’ 64,018 new cases, only 589 died in the past day? That is a lot, but I had expected more with only a few counties left that are still in the green. I don’t know what to think.
CNN: Veteran or not, nobody should be beaten and sprayed like that when just trying to talk with these cowardly, unmarked ‘policemen’ wearing just street clothes and obviously unarmed. It is clear that these para-military men have orders not to talk but to provoke and do as much damage as possible.
MSNBC: As Rachel said: dramatic. And in need of following closely. But neither Republicans nor FBI has given any response. But I’ve got the feeling that Trump or GOP will come with some diversion tomorrow and we’ll never hear from this again. Until Ron Johnson starts his attack right before the elections quite unhampered, of course.
BFTP: Such memories. Imagine a bunch of 15-16-year-old schoolkids listening to this song over and over again on balmy summer-night parties in 1971 (As Guthrie mentions, more than 40 yers ago). We were enthralled with the whole 15 minutes of it. Strange, isn’t it? No alcohol or drugs, but getting high on Arlo Guthrie.
