It’s a crappy day here in the CatBox.  I spent a lot of time on the throne this morning.  The problem with eating goop is like the problem with computer programming.  Goop in; goop out.  I talked to Megan (my PCP) and Evelyn’s (my Oncologist) nurse this morning.  We all agree that the best way to deal with Republicosis is Imodium AD.  Thursday is send Republicosis to criminal Fuhrer Trump* Day!!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 3:09 (average 5:00).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Trump* Virus Update:

0430TrumpVirusMap

Short Takes:

From The New Yorker: Vice-President Mike Pence has started wearing a mask after Anthony Fauci told him that it will protect him from women, Fauci has confirmed.

After seeing video of a maskless Pence touring the Mayo Clinic, on Tuesday, Fauci said, “I knew I had to come up with something fast” to get through to Pence.

Fauci immediately got on the phone with the Vice-President and informed him that “clinical research” had demonstrated that a mask is “an effective female-repellent.”

I believe you, Andy. That brown-nose sycophant, Pence, would love ensure that the use of his butt is reserved exclusively for his beloved criminal Fuhrer Trump*.  RESIST!!

From Alternet: Countless non-fundamentalist churches in the United States, from Catholic to Lutheran and Episcopalian, have embraced social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic and temporarily moved their activities online. But many Christian fundamentalists and evangelicals have been irresponsibly downplaying the dangers of COVID-19 and doing so with deadly results: journalist Alex Woodward, in the U.K.-based Independent, reports that the pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 30 pastors in the Bible Belt.

“Dozens of pastors across the Bible Belt have succumbed to coronavirus after churches and televangelists played down the pandemic and actively encouraged churchgoers to flout self-distancing guidelines,” Woodward reports.

What Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians (the polar opposite of authentic Christians) fail to realize is that their false god carries a pitchfork and has horns, cloven hooves, and a pointy tail.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): From Ukraine to Coronavirus: Trump’s Abuse of Power Continues, featuring Robert Reich

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich, is right. Criminal Fuhrer Trump* exactly reflects the values and policies of the Reich on the Right, the Republican Reich. Every Republican in office is one Republican too many.  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast): If it be Your will – Leonard Cohen – Lyrics

I hadn’t heard this before, but given my current situation, it really hits home.  RESIST!!

Vote Blue No Matter Who Top to Bottom!!

  1. Yeah. So true. Especially if you are stating properly hydrated (which I think everybody recommends doing). I also agree on Imodium, except that I personally buy the generic (loperamide.) I don’t recoommend that if the brand name is doing fine. You’s want to read and compare fillers (“inactive ingedients”) first, for one thing.

Cartoon – So true. They cannot tolerate the real one. Sigh.

Map – Colorado looks odd to me. Perhaps Colorado Springs is underreporting. Who knows.

TNY – That would do it … and Fauci is smart enough to think of it, too. Good guess, Andy.

AlterNet – I’ve got news for Alex Woodward (not that it’s new at all): Non-fundamentalist churches all contain members who individually are fundamentalist. In the Catholic church, some are even Cardinal Archbishops. Faithful America had to write to one this week about preaching Trump from the pulpit. And there really is no way to get rid of them is requesting poltely doesn’t work (which it seldom does.) And I really don’t like the idea of relying heavily on excommunication. That way lies bigotry and hardened hearts. But I do suggest not relying on labels.

Reich – If you hadn’t, I would have (but I figured you would.)

Blast – Leonard Cohen has – sorry, had – a way of phrasing things so that they sound so simple but are in fact so profound. He is sorely missed.

    • The way Denver/Lakewood-Aurora forem a big double blob, it makes the Springs look tiny. 05

      • A lot of our cases in Springs are in assisted living/nursing homes.  But the military bases have also been hit (Thank God Orange Judas didn’t decide to come to the Air Force Academy).  What doesn’t seem to have been hit (statewide) is the prisons.  Thank God.  The one prison that has seen it is in Sterling (and it’s not a private prison.)

  2. Cartoon: Sad.
TVU: Total case count of 71. Sixteen people have recovered from the virus. There are 53 active cases of COVID-19 in the area.
NYer: Sure put a smile on my face…..I find this one hilarious!!!
AN: I find this sad, in that, they won’t listen to the people who know and follow the rules of self-distancing.
RR: Mr. Reich spoke the truth, and then some. Great video. dt doesn’t care…and is a selfish, cruel, lying man, who does not belong in the WH. At all.
Blast….Amen, TC. Gawd, how I deeply miss this man. Loved him with his words/music, and still do.

Hope that you start to feel better, and I sure hope that the Imodium works for you. Hope that your day gets better too. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: “NY has received hundreds of donated masks from all around the country, red and blue states. They were sent because Americans are unified and generous and kind. Our politicians should aspire to be at least half as good as the American people.”~ Andrew Cuomo ~
    2. “It’s good to watch Gov. Cuomo every once in a while, just to remind oneself what leadership and competence looks like, it’s in such short supply at the national level.” ~ Paul G. ~
    3. “Trump has only spent 4.5 minutes in all his Corona-Virus briefings to mention those that have died due to his incompetence. How sad a human being to not even acknowledge our heroes and all of those on the front line risking their lives for the rest of us. We should never forget his cruelty. ~ Chris G. ~
    4. Twitter – “Hello, have you missed me?” ~ Sarah Huckabee ~. “No, girl. Not even a little.” ~ Ana Navarro ~

  3. Cartoon: Sad, but so true.
TVU: We are up again…now 3432 cases with 120 deaths. Still have many that need to be tested too.
TNY: Figures it would take something that crazy to get him to even consider wearing one.
AN: Awful to think that these fools worry more about their money, than they do about their parishioners’ health.
RR: Speaks such truth about tRump.
Sure hope you get to feeling better. Do you drink beverages like Powerade? It has electrolytes in it. Would keep you to stay hydrated. It’s sugar free too.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  4. Trump already has Republicosis, only in his case, it comes out of his mouth.
    TVU: Covid races on!
New Yorker: Pence will probably soon deny that he wore no mask at Mayo.
Alternet, and ‘Toon: glad to be an atheist.
RRC: He lays it out nicely, but the bottom line has always been dumpy’s MO, himself.

  5. Sorry to hear you’re back to Republicosis again, TomCat. Keep yourself hydrated, please!

3:49 Lockdown is making me lethargic.

Update: Trump will be pleased that his boss is facing the same problems he is; Russia’s COVOD-19 cases are spiralling out of control too. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin told President Vladimir Putin yesterday that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and was temporarily stepping down to recover. He reported his positive test only hours after the number of officially confirmed cases of the virus in Russia surged past the 100,000 mark with more than 70 dead doctors, nurses and lab technicians among them.

The pandemic has a profound influence on Russian culture:

TNY: Pence apparently is just as hard to convince of anything based on fact as his overlord is, so Fauci convincing Pence of something as ludicrous and ego-stroking as ‘protection against women’ – as if he needs to be – is quite credible.

RR: Impressive message and all too true. I soooo wish it wasn’t.  01

BFTP: I didn’t know the song either. I hope it has comforted you, TomCat.

  6. Puzzle — 6:00  Gone are my days for giving TC a run for money on the puzzles.

Cartoon — A sad day.  If one looks at many of the Evangelicals, one could say it was all for nought.

Trump Virus — So Trump is planning action against China for COVID-19.  I wonder if Canada should plan action against the US?  I read this morning from I believe Dr Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health official, that an analysis of COVID cases shows that over 400 of the early cases were brought to Canada from the US.  The “do nothing” squatter in the WH failed to address the situation in the US instead calling it a hoax.  Tit for tat Donnie boy?

The New Yorker — LMAO!!!  Too funny Andy!  The idiot Pence should be setting an example.  What a dotard!

AlterNet — As I said above, “If one looks at many of the Evangelicals, one could say it [the crucifixion] was all for nought.”  Forrest Gump “Stupid is as stupid does.”  There is also another line that goes: When God was handing out brains, these Evangelical pastors (in this case) said they would get the next one.

Robert Reich — Sadly, he is very correct!  8645!!!

I have some 2 litre plastic milk jugs if you want to send Republicosis to the squatter in the WH!  I hope your day got better.

  7. Thanks and TGIF Hugs to all. 17

I blew a brain fart on Cohen.  Although I didn’t know that song, his voice sounded so familiar.  Now I remember favorites like Everybody Knows and Hallelujah.  This one hit home, because I still have so much left to say and so little time to say it.
