It’s a busy day here in the CatBox.  I had trouble keeping breakfast down.  I had to wait a couple hours to finish it.  Tomorrow please expect no more that an Open Thread or a Personal Update, as WWWendy will be here to de-stink the vile TomCat, help with chores and parade in her Wonder Woman Wendy romper!  Have a great weekend!

147 recovered

Short Takes:

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Virus Scandal: Senators Accused Of Profiting Off Coronavirus Info

MSNBC was wrong not to include Diane Feinstein [DINO – CA]. It opens the network to charges of bias. More important, as a Democrat, I want to know when one of ours acts like a Republican. Di-Fi is a stinking DINO piece of shit and deserves the same treatment that Republicans get. If anything, we should be harder on her. Democrats to not applaud and encourage corruption, greed and hypocrisy from our representatives the way Republicans do.  RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Amid speculation that United States senators might soon be working remotely, Senator Richard Burr on Friday demanded guarantees that senators working from home will still have access to insider-trading tips.

Speaking from the well of the Senate, an impassioned Burr, a Republican from North Carolina, said that a “system needs to be put in place—not tomorrow, not next week, but today—to insure that senators receive the insider-trading information that is both our lifeblood and our birthright.”

Burr blasted the Obama Administration for not establishing contingency plans to safeguard the steady flow of stock tips to U.S. senators in the event of a pandemic, nuclear war, or asteroid strike.

Why am I not surprised, Andy? This is straight news, isn’t it?  RESIST!!

From YouTube (CNN Channel):  Trump rants at reporter asking about scared Americans

Of course it’s normal for people to be scared. A real President would offer comfort and support. Criminal Fuhrer Trump* is NOT a real President!  RESIST!!

From YouTube (a blast from the past): The Righteous Brothers – Soul and Inspiration

Ah… the memories!  RESIST!!

  1. So sorry about the distress. Do have a great day with WWWendy.

Cartoon – A very long march indeed. Sigh.

Map – Fewer recoveries than deaths. So encouraging (NOT!).

MSNBC – Well, they also didn’t include Ron Johnson (R-WI), so maybe the think those two are at a minimum not provable. I agree we should expect better ethics from Democrats than from Republicans, but I’d like that to be done fairly, and with investigation. The one thing Gillibrand said that I disagree with is who should be investigating, The current Department of Justice is worse than useless.

TNY – They really are that blatant, aren’t they?

CNN – I saw his response – he was actually sending a “softball” question. Traitor Tot really is dumber than a box of rocks. Unfortunately, that fact harms and endangers people.

Past – I personally don’t remember that one, but hubby probably would.

  2. Cartoon: I remember my dad talking/discussing to us about this over dinner. I miss those conversations w/him.
    TVU: Gulp!!
    VT: Pretty cold blooded, imho!
NYer: They (r’s) just don’t care, do they??
CNN: Kudos to Mr. Alexander for being a gentleman through the interview. dt’s always been a blackguard and a cad to the inth degree. imho.
BFTP: Always and forever in my heart! I love this song, even to today!! Thanks! Tom.

Aww…sorry about you not getting your breakfast down. Hi Wendy! Hope that you get some relaxation in, and your rest. Take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

*This just in – “GOP”. “Greed over people.” ~ Paula S. ~
    2. “Another counterpoint is to have Madame Speaker Pelosi do her own briefings, because we need someone with calm and compassion addressing the American People. Ditch dt.” ~ Tomas F. ~
    3. “There are NO bad questions, only bad answers. Peter Alexander’s question was brilliant for it’s simplicity and what it allowed dt to reveal about himself. He is an unsteady leader. He is wilting under pressure and flinching under fire. The weakness is simply extraordinary.” ~ Steve Schmidt ~
    4. “There is no one I trust less than this president to handle THIS crisis.” ~ Joanne C. ~

  3. ‘Toon:  And it is not yet over.
MSNBC: GREED, and then some bigotry.
New Yorker: Is Andy secretly taping these bastards?
CNN: Glad to see the push-back!  Confront this dick with facts?  HA!
BFTP: The past is creeping up on us, Kenny Rogers is now gone.

  4. Vote Blue No Matter Who – hell yes, especially at the bottom! If all we can get for the Democratic nominee is an Old White Man, let’s get more diversity in Congress – which is where it really counts. Flip as many seats from red to blue as you can!

  5. Hope your day went better after breakfast/lunch, TomCat.

4:17 Always more difficult than it looks.

Cartoon: He got there eventually, but his dreams never did.

Update: Yup, the spread is exponential as predicted.

MSNBC: This is just as one would expect Republicans to do, so Feinstein calling herself a Democrat is a misnomer, something that may have been clear to the Californian Democratic Party when they wouldn’t endorse her when she went up for governor again due to her ‘bipartisan inclination’.Apparently they could see the writing on the wall.

TNY: Andy, you lost me when you suggested that senators would start working from home. Working? Republican senators? Of course, they want their inside-trade tip, all they do is keep an eye on their stock.

CNN: Rachel was right, the media should stop reporting on these briefings until they are presented by someone other than Trump and until the truth is told and confidence can be restored.

BFTP: Before my time, I think.

  6. Not that there was ever any doubt we have an ASSHOLE for a president – but this exchange confirms it:

And the transcript of *Rump’s full rant from the White House:

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-vice-president-pence-members-c-oronavirus-task-force-press-briefing/

Q    I’ll just follow up.  Nearly 200 dead.  What do you say to Americans who are scared, though?  I guess, nearly 200 dead; 14,000 who are sick; millions, as you witness, who are scared right now.  What do you say to Americans who are watching you right now who are scared?

THE PRESIDENT:  I say that you’re a terrible reporter.  That’s what I say.

I think it’s a very nasty question, and I think it’s a very bad signal that you’re putting out to the American people.  The American people are looking for answers and they’re looking for hope.  And you’re doing sensationalism, and the same with NBC and “Con-cast.”  I don’t call it — I don’t call it “Comcast,” I call it “Con-cast.”

Let me just — for who you work — let me just tell you something: That’s really bad reporting, and you ought to get back to reporting instead of sensationalism.

Let’s see if it works.  It might and it might not.  I happen to feel good about it, but who knows.  I’ve been right a lot.  Let’s see what happens.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

  7. Cartoon: We must help by continuing the fight.
MSNBC: Rotten scandals who must be investigated and prosecuted.
TNY: Really…they’re going to work from home??? Sure. They’re going to get paid for enjoying time away from their offices.
CNN: I agree with Lona’s comment.
    BFTP: Great song/singers.
Sorry you had a bad morning. Hope you got to feeling better.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  8. Thanks and Weekend Hugs to all. 26
