It’s a tired day, here in the CatBox.  Store to Door came late yesterday, and Andy was not allowed to enter the CatBox, due to Trump* virus precautions, so I had to take the order to my bed from the hallway a bag at a time.  Then I unloaded the bags and stowed the items.  I loved the Quaker Instant Oatmeal with Maple and Brown Sugar I had for breakfast.  I spiked it with Maple Syrup.  For lunch I’m having cashew butter and crackers.  My computer crashed, when I was in the middle of research this morning, so I’m running late.  It’s my fault.  I overloaded it.  TGIF!

From YouTube (Robert Reich Channel): Trump* virus Updates, Corporate Bailouts and the Stimulus Package

Of course the Reich on the left, Robert Reich is right. The Families First Bill, mostly from Democrats, does good things. It’s a good first step, but it’s just a drop in the bucket. The Reich on the Right. The deplorable Reich on the right, the Republican Reich, wants to feign beneficence by giving citizens $1,200 each, but $1,200 won’t cover a month’s expenses in a multi-month crisis. Worse yet, the Republican plan gives only $600 to poor families. Republicans also want to give a $multi-billion bailout in corporate welfare. But greedy corporations just got one in the Republican Tax Scam of 2017. Not one penny more! The best thing we can do for the Republican Reich is to flush them all!  RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Determined to address the “No. 1 concern of the American people during the coronavirus crisis,” Fox News Channel announced on Thursday that it would air a three-part prime-time series on Hunter Biden.

The series, to be he co-hosted by Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Rudy Giuliani, will attempt to soothe the anxieties of Fox viewers who have suddenly been plunged into uncertainty about the activities of Joe Biden’s son.

“People are trapped inside their homes, they’re worried, they’re scared, and they don’t know where to turn for accurate information about Hunter Biden,” Hannity said. “We’re here to fill that need.”

Giuliani said that the three-part series was necessary because “the deep state” had limited Americans’ access to essential Hunter Biden facts during the pandemic crisis.

“If you go on the C.D.C. Web site, you won’t find a single mention of Hunter Biden, Burisma, or CrowdStrike,” Giuliani said. “It’s a disgrace.”

Dang, Andy! Isn’t that exactly what we should expect from the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux NoiseRESIST!!

  1. One of Frank Loesser’s best and funniest tunes.

“My computer crashed, when I was in the middle of research this morning, so I’m running late. It’s my fault. I overloaded it.” Been reading my mail?

Cartoon – At the time, it was a step in the direction of kindness. Srsly.

Have you received your Census “invitation” yet? Have you responded? It’s finished almost before you know it if you do it on the web.

Map – Death rate is down. By a lot. Of course, who expects honesty any more?

RR – Never forget Louie Gohmert, who single-handedly delayed the bill from going to the Senate, nor Rand Paul, who single-handedly killed the amendment requiring paid sick leave to be offered to and by all. Personally, I think any time there is this kind of bailout, there ought to be a “conscience fund” established so that people who know they don’t need it can return it quietly and fast.

TNY – Damn, Andy, don’t give them any ideas!

Past – Strange – I remember the song but don’t remember ever having even heard of Classics IV. Go figure.

  2. Cartoon: Oops!
TVU: No one in my county (yet)…Going by the supermarket(s) attendance, one would think that Armageddon is right around the corner….gulp!
    RR: What you said, Tom.
    TNY: Good grief!
BFTP: Such a soft and melodious song…love it.

Boy, you sure had your work cut out for getting and stowing your groceries, glad that you got them put up. Hubs and I regularly eat the Quaker Instant Oatmeal with Maple and Brown Sugar for our evening meal. It’s delicious, isn’t it? I think so. That’s our favorite one too. Hope that you have a good and relaxing evening, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: re dt – “Do the world a favor and resign. We need a President who inspires.” ~ Martin F. ~

    3. re the Pandemic – “Romney needs to change his party status.” ~ Joanne W. ~

    • TJI #3 – Maybe not quite yet.  He called for $1000 to every adlult.  My Democratic Senator called for $2000 for every man, woman, and child (and just to make sure no one was overlooked, added “(or non-child dependent), and recipient of Social Security, Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).”

  3. Your menu of victuals sounds deliciously!

Hope you enjoy them as much as they sound delightful!

  4. Cartoon: Oh my..
TVU: It has grown to 131 here. They are warning us that it may be way worse in the coming days. We are on lock down. Scary.
RR: Speaks truth. I agree with Joanne regarding “conscience fund”.
TNY: I take that they don’t have anything better to do??
BFTP: Recognize the song too, not the group.
Glad you’ve been able to enjoy your Instant Oatmeal with Maple and Brown Sugar. My favorite too.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day. Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. Good to see you’re treating yourself to some nice food, TomCat, even if it takes you so long to get it down. Good on ya, mate.

3:22 A little bench a lot of people, locked up in their houses, would love to sit right now.

Cartoon: Some states, running out of lethal drugs, may want to bring that back for their capital punishment.

Update: Within a few days, America will have reached China’s total. It hasn’t gone away “miraculously”, has it. The only miraculous thing is the incredibly low death rate. Are they only the people that have died in (certain) hospitals, perhaps?

RR: The longer they wait with bailing out ‘the people’instead of corporations the more Republicans will irreparably destroy their (own) economy. They are just too blinded by greed and selfishness to see they are destroying themselves too.

TNY: Awsome! This little piece of satire embodies everything that is wrong with Faux News, a network that hs redefined “news” for an entire generation of Americans.

BFTP: Definitely the first time I’ve heard this. Easy listening.

  6. My county finally admitted we have one who remains in another county where exposed as of 3/19…as of last Sat. the only hospital reportedly was turning people away whose insurance was an HMO and county provides no other testing site info.  Despite now all having mandatory orders, only people looking for info. are learning. Nightly meal for homeless, seniors and other poor people had to become take out (yes, freezing temperatures still) and both food bank and food closet are closed and there are zero government beds for the homeless two years after receiving a major grant to serve them…saw, yet not universally mentioned, that the data has led to the age vulnerability being 50 and above now.
Hospital worker job action in Bay Area over order to re-use gloves and masks…CDC telling people to consider using bandanas in an emergency in a N. CA newspaper…ER doctor a friend knows asked people who have masks or gloves (and aren’t sick) to donate them to local hospitals.

Thanks for the dose of AB and prayers continue.  I’ve been told (by a County Health Dept. person) those who live alone and need to isolate for their safety can be added to Meals on Wheels program in their area under the first federal bill that was enacted.  You might look into that…

  7. Thanks and weekend hugs to all! 23

  8. Cartoon — I’d say you need some to take care of Republicans!

The New York — Sounds very Faux Noise! . . . unfortunately!

Robert Reich — I heard that the Republicans are pushing the payments to all Americans with no means test.  Why should a person/family earning $150,000/year receive a cheque with such income and likely some wealth investments when others are at or below the poverty line and get much less?  Can you tell I am a democratic socialist?!  If Republicans can screw anyone, they will screw everyone not considered worthy.
