It’s a hectic day, here in the CatBox.  I still haven’t recovered from Monday’s ordeal.  Last night, I accidently heard part of Trump’s* address, almost lost my supper, and felt nauseous for the rest of the evening.  This morning, I broke through three days of Republicitis.  I’m hoping Republicosis  does not follow it, as it often does.  WWWendy is coming this evening, and I’m totally ready for de-stinking.  Happy Hump Day!

Today’s took me 2:55 (average 4:26).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

From Daily Kos: The Rotating (Regional) Primary Plan

Recommended by the National Association of Secretaries of State in 2000, this plan would divide the country into four regions—Northeast, South, Midwest, and West. There would be four primary days, one for each region. They would rotate every cycle. The original plan preserved the Iowa/New Hampshire duopoly, but just ditch it and rotate. Would work fine. Perhaps my favorite.

I guess I wasn’t the first to think of the idea I proposed yesterday. Great minds fall in the same ditch, after all.  Please click through to see four more primary scheduling plans.  RESIST!!

From The New Yorker: Calling the delay in the release of the Iowa caucus results “a threat to democracy,” the state of Florida has offered to help Iowa with the vote-counting process.

Harland Dorrinson, a spokesman for Florida’s official electoral commission, said on Tuesday morning that “Florida stands ready and willing to restore credibility to Iowa’s vote-tabulation procedures.”

Dorrinson added that Katherine Harris, Florida’s former secretary of state, was eager to “roll up her sleeves and clean up Iowa’s mess.”

“Just say the word, Iowa, and Katherine Harris will be on the next plane out,” he said.

Dang, Andy! Are you sure that’s Harland Dorrinson? I heard it was his brother, Chad!  Or did they hang him? RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: I remember my dad talking about the murder of Medgar Evans over the dinner table. Even if we didn’t understand..he kept us up to date with the national/world events. I sure do miss those talks of bygone days.
DK: Good info, will pass on too.
NYer: Straight up reporting, eh, Andy? lol
BFTP: Awesome! Awesome! Love this one.

HI, Wendy! Hope that you will be okay today. Get your rest, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

This just in: “Adam Schiff’s words will prove to be prophetic.” ~ Robert L.
    2. “We have a right to see dt’s taxes since he’s been in the WH, because he’s spending YOUR $$$ !!! Remember when the R’s invoked the Emoluments Clause when Mr. Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize and he donated the $$ to charity? The hypocrisy is huge!! ~ Cynthia B. ~
    3. “dt is a genius, but you can’t see his grades. Healthy, but no medical reports. Rich, but no tax return. Honest, but can’t see or view documents. Innocent, but can subpoena witnesses.” ~ Ken P.

  2. 6:05 He is pretty flashy. All the ones I’ve see have just looked black.

Best to WWWendy. I’m not surprised you need more rest.

I’ve been holding the email which first carried this information. Now it’s a video (and has CC).

^^ I understand this. You understand this (all of you.) I wish I had confidence that the DNC understands this. I don’t. Just the opposite.

Cartoon – We need more days like that. There are so may Republican killers still running around loose!

DKos – The one good thing to come out of the debacle is that it made it so obvious that there is a problem that no one could miss it. I’m not surprised there are a whole lot of minds working on this. The Constitution gives the details of elections to the States, but it also does specifically allow Congress to change those details by law. Article I, Section 4. It’s about time Congress used that authority.

NYT – I believe there’s a saying about the blind leading the blind.

Past – One of their (numerous) masterpieces. I can’t help wondering how many more there would be (or – if there would be any at all – as life sometimes works that way) if they had actually liked each other.

    • Thanks for the vid. I saw it, but couldn’t get to it. 06

      • YVW.  Everything said by the Reich on the left is important, but, usually, it’s stuff Democrats more or less agree on.  This isn’t, and it’s IMO urgent.  (And I always make sure before posting him that you haven’t.)

  3. 2:33 Superb indeed.

Cartoon: No idea who he is, but given the flag in the background I don’t want to know at this particular point in time.

BFTP: Such an awesome song, it brings a tear to my eye. I’ll honour it with my own silence.

  4. Cartoon: Not familiar with him either.
NY: It’s insane what became of this whole thing.
BFTP: Beautiful song by Simon & Garfunkel.
Hope you got some rest. Enjoy your visit with Wendy.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. Byron De La Beckwith is the racist that murdered civil rights leader, Medgar Evers.

Thanks and exhausted Hugs to all. 19
