(I thought I was putting my above Comment in the “Happy New Year” post. I hope this isn’t an omen WRT how my year will go.)
I had a VERY productive day yesterday: BARELY made the deadline for earning all my CMEs. My 2-year medical license doesn’t expire until 1/31/20 – but I forgot I have to earn them all by 12/31/19 … but I made it!
Got my county Personal and Real (ouch) Property taxes paid. Those I wait until the last day or two.
Got all my year-end, online donations made.
Nike and I went to bed early, and slept very well – something that doesn’t happen as often as I’d like.
I think Robert Reich’s video was an excellent way to start the new year!
And if *Rump want’s to distract us, I have my doubts a war is his best option.

RR: I like Mr. Reich’s videos, and the words/lessons learned. I have hope as more are speaking out about the injustice(s) that are going on. It is depressing though to see how this ID in the WH acts/speaks though. A hateful tool of a man, imho.
CNN: Gawd, this is awful!! Meanwhile, dt is out golfing..(what I heard) yeah, anything to distract from what’s going on here. ugh!

There is, or used to be, a superstition that what you do on New Year’s Year is what you will be doing all year. So I slept in.

Poll – I hope everyone has read or will read the comments, especially those for whom there are personal messages in there. Impeachment, to me, is a last resort, and should be used only when there is no other way to remove someone. Indictment is preferable when actual crimes have been committed – if it is possible. Appointed officials in the Executive Branch are toast the instant there is a new President – or can be – so impeaching them seems to me like using a cannon to swat a fly. Granted Barr is so dangerous that it may be necessary to address him before the next election – but he is already being investigated through the Bar Associations which are pertinent (i.e. where he is licensed) and that may have to do for now.
RR – I am not confident either – but I am hopeful. And I am not going to give up (even though sometimes i may feel like it.) And that is all that he’s asking from us.
CNN – Yes, this is scary – and it is what is to be expected any time there are no diplomats, or ill-qualified diplomats, isn’t it. War as a distraction has always worked before – but, on the other hand, the technique of the boy who cried wolf worked – until it didn’t.
Past – Afraid I don’t remember this one.

CNN: Our odious foreign policies have made us so many enemies, and Dumpy has disassembled our diplomatic corps. Now, he’s making more of what are probably empty threats, but they are better than stupid actions.

CNN: I’m not happy that one of our service members got killed. But for him to take revenge and kill 25 there, not exactly what I would of ordered. But leave it to tRump to order it. He loves to throw threats out. He’s going to be sorry in so many ways. When the U.S. needs a friend, he’s going to realize there isn’t any thanks to his ignorance and two faced lies.

RR: Sorry, after several days of “we are resilient…we’ll bounce back” from Aussie PM Scomo while the whole country is going up in flames, I’ve had enough of it because here it means “you’re on your own, the government won’t do anything unless strongly pressured.” Resilience is no longer enough. It is the basis, definitely, but you also need resistance and what’s more, you need counter force. A non-violent, peaceful, but never the less strong, combined force of the people.
CNN: This isn’t news that gets through all the raging fires here, but the idea that this welcomed by the White House, and Trump’s “threat” have been pointed out repeatedly. Iran or Korea both were always an option for diversion, i.e. war when things got too uncomfortable for Trump.
