It’s a busy day here in the CatBox, but I should be done online by the time WWWendy gets here.  May the divine Ellipsoid Orb shine it’s blessed light on your team, unless they are really horny!

Jig Zone Puzzle:

Today’s took me 4:15 (average 5:40).  To do it, click here.  How did you do?

Cartoon:

An actual card from a typical Republican Ammosexual.

Short Takes:

From Crooks and Liars: Duncan Hunter, Republican Representative and convicted criminal announced late on Friday that he will be resigning “shortly after the holidays.” Just a few days ago, Hunter pleaded guilty to a sole charge of misusing campaign funds, although he actually faced a shocking 60 counts! Sounds like he got a sweet plea deal.

San Diego 10 News reports that Hunter put out the following statement late on Friday:

“Shortly after the Holidays I will resign from Congress. It has been an honor to serve the people of California’s 50th District, and I greatly appreciate the trust they have put in me over these last 11 years.”

Hunter faces up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although chances are he will see under a year in detention, if he is actually locked up at all. Based on the sentencing guidelines for a first time offender, the judge could just give him house arrest and a fine. He is set to be sentenced on March 17th. His wife also pleaded guilty earlier this year. Her sentencing isn’t scheduled until April.

It’s time to charge Hunter for his own role in the Republican sedition. RESIST!!

  1. Cartoon: Good Grief ! ugh!
C&L: If that had been me, I’d of been in prison for a mighty long time. Funny, how the R’s can try and ditch a sentence, (while sounding contrite), he’d probably would have done more misuse of his office. Only thing..is he got caught.
SNL: Priceless!! Excellent vid ! and funny/spot on!
    CCR: Ahhhhhhh…..love this one.
Hi, Wendy! I’ve got a crock pot going w/chili, so maybe that will fire things up a little before the game. lol. Hope that you have a great day, take good care, and Thanks, Tom. It will be a good game.

    • Well, 1st half is done…

Looks like someone on the Broncos team got a carton of Whoop As-, because we must be
looking the other way. Painful to watch.

      Broncos 31- Texans 3.

  2. ‘Tune: No damned surprise!
C & L: Also no real surprise.  I believe these bastards do not go to congress to serve anyone’s agenda, but their own.
SNL: “Merry Christmas to me.”  Not while you are married to the laughing stock of the universe!
CCR: We saw Fogarty last night , on PBS, and we saw him, live, with Willie Nelson, in N.J. years ago.  They put on a marvelous show.
Pat’s #3: Carla Sands, former business woman, chiropractor, and, now, perfectly prepared to be the  ambassador to Denmark, also ass kisser to the Empty Orange.

  3. 6:43 Not exactly soaring today.

Hi to WWWendy WW. I’m sure the two of you will sweep and/or vacuum well after the shearing. Falls are dangerous

Cartoon – Oh, I absolutely believe it Besides the ammosexual aspect, I also notice Mom is absent. Unnecessary? Or just unimportant? Hope the kid has no sisters.

C&L – Well, it’s a Federal offense and conviction. It certainly would be the lazy way out to go with an ankle monitor. (I hope that can at least charge for it and collect, but, probably not.)

SNL – Pretty good, for something I spent my entire public school years avoiding.

Past – Remember the group of course, the song not so much.

    This just in:

The nativity scene at Claremont United Methodist church

    I don’t know which Claremont)

    Turns out it’s Claremont, CA,

  4. Cartoon: Shameful.
C&L: I’ve had no respect for hUnter. He’s acted like a model of tRump with all of his illegal financial spending, galas with women in Washington, sticking his nose into the military situation with continuous criticizing the military prosecution of a Navy SEAL accused of war crime. Which whom he helped, getting him released with same pay and ranking. tRump did help too at the end, pardoned him per hUnter’s request. Plus with all the corrupt things hUnter had been doing for years, it’s finally catching up to him. He like tRump had been calling all of the allegations “fake news”. I just pray that tRump doesn’t pardon him. Otherwise it’s making it like our country cares less about punishing these evil ones who do illegal acts.
    SNL: Hilarious, Loved it.
BFTP: CCR was another one of my favorite groups. Loved their music.
Hope you had a pleasant Sunday. Had a good visit with Wendy.
It’s been cool and rainy here ever since Friday.  Not one pitch of Sunshine here whatsoever.
    Take care.
    Thanks TomCat

  5. Joanne, this Claremont is located up in the Los Angeles area.
I have to agree with Pat that this is heartbreaking.
Sad what tRump has done to these innocent families.
I tried to reply to your comment above, but it didn’t let me type. I then typed and hit the reply above and it lost this comment, so still don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
    Thanks Joanne

    • You were almost there, Colleen.

Type your comment in the usual comment box, but separately from any comment on TomCat’s post just as you have done here, but before submitting klick the reply button of the comment you want to address, as you seem to have done too. Then the box you can’t type in appears and you need to click on the submit button underneath it. Your original comment hasn’t been lost but is now transferred as a reply.

    • Lona is spot on – you were almost there.  But I got the message this way.

I did find out where Claremont is and have corrected it now.  Kudos to FUMC there.  This is not the first political statement they have made with a creche.  A previous one included Trayvon Martin. – and there have been others as well.  Also other artisis making statements.  There’s a painting based on Our Lady of Guadeloupe that I’m holdoing forthe right moment.

  6. 3:06 Won’t get off the ground anytime soon.

    Cartoon: 🤮

C&L: Republican Hunter pleads guilty after a plea deal to one of 60 charges involving misusing campaign funds and then “retires”, thanking his constituents for the trust they have put in him. He might as well have given them the finger and called them suckers. That would have been more honest and less offensive.

SNL: Very good, especially in the portrayal of Trump and Johnson. Making fun off Trump is nothing close to bullying, even though it would be good to see the shoe on the other foot for a while. Merkel is, of course, no schoolgirl wanting to hang out with the cool boys. Mama Merkel has been running the show in Europe far too long to have such a need. 😉

BFTP: Those memories came flooding in with Suzie Q. If I remember correctly, the version on the album was about twice as long, this track seems to start halfway through.
Memories also of two young feral cats who adopted me. With identical markings, they looked brother and sister, though the girl was about half her brother’s size. She came in first and was named Suzie; brother Q followed shortly after.

    • Thank you for sharing your memories here.  It makes me feel trusted to see them.

I had a friend who had a pair of cats, one of whom was named, “Creedence,” but the other was not named “Clearwater,” but instead “Fang.”  I only remember that because of her vivid description of how they acted the first time the played the record of “Jingle Bells” constructed from dog barks.

  7. Thanks and OGIM Hugs to all! 18
