It’s a busy, crappy day here in the CatBox. I’m hurrying to get a partial nap, before Store to Door delivers my groceries this afternoon. Then WWWendy comes this evening. I spoke too soon about my Republicosis, because it’s back with a vengeance. I’d better take extra Immodium for WWWendy’s sake. Double stinky hugs to all.
Jig Zone Puzzle:
Today’s took me 4:30 (average 7:09). To do it, click here. How did you do?

Short Takes:
From YouTube (Media Matters Channel): US Department of Agriculture launches pro-Trump propaganda podcast
Barf Bag Alert!!
I counted all the honest statements mixed into the bullshit. There were zero. YOU are paying for this! RESIST!!
From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Watch: Pence Evades Repeated Questions On Trump’s Ukraine Plot
Barf Bag Alert!!
It’s Pence’s Ukraine plot too. This is still the problem with removal. Would we be better off or worse off if Pence became Fuhrer? Is there any doubt that her would help Trump get away with it by pardoning him? RESIST!!
From Willamette Week: U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) today urged travelers to boycott Provenance Hotels, the Portland-based chain founded by the Hon. Gordon Sondland, the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union.
“Anyone who cares about America should not do any business or stay at any of Gordon Sondland’s hotels. Not until he fulfills his duty as a citizen to testify and turn over all relevant documents to the House of Representatives,” Blumenauer said in a statement today. “Nobody is above the law. Mr. Sondland and the entire Trump administration need to be reminded of that.”
Provenance owns or operates 14 hotels, including six in Portland: the Heathman, the Sentinel, the deLuxe, the Lucia, the Dossier and the Woodlark.
Earl is my Rep and I fully support this boycott. Unfortunately, I doubt they’ll lose from us. Rooms at the Sentinel go from $199 to $299 per night. RESIST!!
Vote Blue!!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

6:32 It does kind of look like him – psychologically, not physically.
There are no words (although over 90 people in the comments section found some.)
Cartoon – A little dated. Dead troops don’t matter either any more.
MMC – Delusional.
MSNBC – Evading is just about the best thing he does. “Mother,” on the other hand, really put her foot in her mouth this week saying that she “loves” the way Orange Judas treats young women. Seriously. WTF?!?
WW – What is it about these people and owning hotels? I guess some things never do change. (I would, however, guess that $199-$299 per night is now considered mid-priced.)
Sorry that it doesn’t have closed captions, but the full lyrics are here if anyone wants to check them out.
I need to go to bed early and be gone all day tomorrow, so I’d like to post this now so it will have some time to get seen, I hope. It’s no completely OT – it’s related to Pat’s first TJI.
Someone posted this to Democratic Underground. I don’t know anything else about the guy, but I do like his merch – especially the shirt that says “Before you can support the troops, you have to support the truth.”
BZ to this guy, and what he conveyed.
I’m on board.
Thx, Joanne.
Atrocity is the standard MO of the Republican Reich! Our special forces should be commended if they intervene on the Kurds’ behalf.
Cartoon: Sad and Warped to say the least.
BBA: WTH? I don’t know what they’re smokin’….but…they need to quit !!! Get back in the real world.
MSNBC: He sure knows how to deflect, doesn’t he? Instead of being honest and upfront….oh, never mind..!
Willamette Week: You bet! Boy, they sure are fancy…passing along to friends..thx!
Hi, Wendy, hope all is good with you! Hope that your groceries get delivered in a timely manner too. Uh, oh, I read that your Republicosis is back. Hope that you get rid of it, once and for all. Take good care, enjoy the rest of your day, and Thanks, Tom.
*This just in:”When ISIS returns, and now will, remember the Iranian pilot we watched being burned alive, or the journalist they beheaded, just to name a few of their sins, so dt can have his hotel in Turkey?? ~ Revta A.~

3. “In closing remarks from speech re: treatment of young women in St. Paul, MN., (Mother), Second Lady Pence tells the crowd to go out and talk to a friend in support of the President and pray for him. “Don’t be afraid to get on your get on your knees.” ~ Katie R. ~
**re: #3. – I’m going to use my last shred of maturity for the day and leave the “don’t be afraid to get on your knees” things alone. Please know that it’s killing me, though. ~ Andrea Thompson, author. ~
MMC: it’s been rather nice not to have her horse shit coming my way. But, why would anyone expect her to have “rehabilitated” herself?
Pence: Did he take lessons from her?
WW: Good idea.
‘Toon: And, dead troops can not ask for financial, or other support; can not, in GWB’s words be “beggars!” this is wonderful for the GOPIGGIES!
BTW: I will be absent from the internet, over much of the next 2 weeks, going back up north for family, and other, gatherings.
STAY CALM, AND CARRY ON!
Good luck with your Republicosis, TomCat.
I’ll be back tomorrow. I promise.
HOUSEKEEPING NOTE:
No “Friday Fun” tomorrow. I get (have) to attend an out of town late afternoon wedding tomorrow. At least they’re providing a dinner reception. Plus I’ll get to see LOTS of relatives! So it’ll be fun!
CURIOSITY QUESTION:
Being totally crass, but since I don’t get invited to many weddings any more at my age, what’s the appropriate range for a gift w/ a “food” reception?
From what I Googled, it seemed like $75-$100 was appropriate.
But I’m so out of the loop, I have NO idea.
PS: Not that it matters because I sent them a gift from their online Registry a couple of weeks ago. That was SO EASY I went a little higher than I was planning. But not have to get out and schlepp around looking for a gift was great – and it’s something they wanted!
See below. I hit submit too soon.
Re the cartoon: Boys and girls, can you say “hypocrisy”?
Cartoon: Sad. Why can’t they just plain CARE?
MMC: Crazy and like Joanne said, Delusional.
BBA: Pence, Obeys his evil master’s traits very well. I’m honestly hoping that when this impeachment ordeal gets really going, that it will be taking tRump and all of his cronies down with him.
WW: I agree with his suggestion, but will they follow it? Probably not.
Hope you and Wendy had a good afternoon. I had appointments and it was hectic as usual.
Take care. Thanks TomCat
Media Matters — That is USDA Grade A BULLSHIT piled higher and deeper! Thanks for the barf bag alert but it should be a 50 gallon barf bag alert!
MSNBC — The whole administration should be politically lynched post haste! If the top two — Trump and Pence — are lynched, the rest of the rats will scurry to the cracks and crannies of anonymity. Oh be that the day!
Willamette Weekly — Make it so!
I have been off track with the stomach flu for a couple of days so have not been around for very long. I don’t know which is worse — Republicosis or stomach flu. Today my best friend has been a box of soda crackers!
Hope you feel better!
I know this is not funny when you are in it, but stomach flu and Republicosis together is sometimes called “pot and pan disease.”
Seriously, you want to stay hydrated. But if you are losing fluids, you are also losing electrolytes, and water alone won’t take care of that. I used to have a recipe for an electrolyte fluid (got it from a medical missionary who needed to be able to make it in remote places where lots of things aren’t available) including lemon or lime, salt, honey or sugar (just a trace), and a half gallon of water. II can’t now find the proportions, but it was something like a teaspoon of sale to a tablespoon of lemon (or lime) juice and not more than a quarter teaspoon of honey, all in a half gallon of water, and you start with a quarter cup every fifteen minutes. Most commercial electrolyte drinks would have to be diluted to come to similar proportions. It’s not a cure for anything, the point is just to keep you hydrated till you can keep something down. If you are keeping soda crackers down, maybe you could get by with just the lemon or lime juice heavily diluted and drunk in small quantities ad longish intervals. To the best of my recollection, when the proportions were right, you couldn’t taste it.
If the couple are Republicans, $1 may be too much. If they are progressive Democrats, $500 may not be enough.
Thanks and TGIF Hugs to all!
