It’s a tired day here at the CatBox.  My hiatal hernia has been giving me nasty heartburn.  Fortunately I see the doctor on Monday.  Tomorrow is a WWWendy day, but she won’t be here until mid-PM.  Her son is retuning to Spain, and she’s driving him to the airport in Seattle in the morning.  Therefore I’ll be in the saddle tomorrow, but not Monday.  Weekend Hugs! for all!

From YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Millions Stage Global Strike To Protest Climate Change

Kudos! We haven’t seen kids like this since I was a 1960s activist. RESIST!!

Also from YouTube (MSNBC Channel): Lawrence: The GOP Silence Is Deafening Re: Whistleblower’s “Urgent Concern”

No matter how heinous, the Republican Reich has had a consistent response to their members’ crimes for years: IOKIYAR! RESIST!!

From Salon.com: [L]awyers for President Trump argue that the president is immune from all criminal investigations in a new federal lawsuit seeking to block New York prosecutors from obtaining his tax returns.

Trump sued his longtime accounting firm Mazars USA and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance on Thursday, after Vance’s office subpoenaed the firm to demand eight years of the president’s personal and corporate tax returns.

Department of Justice guidelines say a president cannot be prosecuted while in office, as former special counsel Robert Mueller made clear. But Trump’s personal attorneys are now going well beyond that by arguing that he also cannot be “investigated … or otherwise subjected to the criminal process.”

I’d say their swastikas are showing! RESIST!!

Vote Blue!!

  1. 5:47 Howl!

    RIP Peter Stockton

Cartoon – Oh, Lordy, how true.

Climate – The kids have been getting to this point – I would say, starting with “Occupy” – but the numbers have been growing – pretty much every outrage has added more. Now it’s global – we didn’t even see that in our day. That is, there were protests all over, but what they were protesting was country-specific. I don’t think we’ve ever seen this many kids all over the world protesting the same thing.

Lawrence – I’m sorry, I don’t want to hear directly from the whistleblower, because I want the whistleblower to live. I’d love to hear from the IG, though – we know who he is, and he was enough in agreement with the report to forward it urgently.

Salon – DOJ guidelines are clear that a President cannot be prosecuted BY THE DOJ while in office. DOJ guidelines are NOT binding on the states’ judiciaries. If anyone should know that, it’s Republicans. But the only law they really respect is (as Bill said) “Go f**k yourself.”

  2. Cartoon: Good Grief!!
YT: Kudos to them!! I have faith in our younger generation, in a show of ambitions and one of faith in getting ‘er done. This is great. As what they’ve done with raising awareness w/gun control….
MSNBC: I’m w/Joanne and agree re: the whistleblower. I’d be thinking security, and watching his/her back re: safety for self. If not being held accountable, dt w/be emboldened in the near future. ugh!!!
Salon: Sure doesn’t sound like an innocent man, and he’s holding/tying up  the courts too with his lawsuits too!!

I sure hope that you start feeling better. Wendy sounds busy too! Hope you have a good afternoon/evening, take good care and Thanks, Tom.

    2. “Soooo……Bill Clinton gets impeached for lying about a bj, but..dt lies and it’s ‘his right’??” ~ Deborah D.~

  3. Weekend hugs Tom Cat!! take good care of yourself!!❣️

  4. Climate: There was massive amount of students everywhere at yesterday’s climate change gatherings. I honestly hope the ones in office were paying attention. They have to be awfully dumb and blind if they haven’t noticed the severe changes in our climate with all of the disasters we’ve had.
Lawrence: I tend to agree with Joanne on this one. I too want the Whistle blower to live. The no good As*hole who knew about it and hide the information, is the one who need to be speaking and prosecuted NOW.
Salon: What a bunch of BS. tRump has broken so many that there should be a way to go after him. I hope that he has to pay for all of his sins soon.
Sure hope you get to feeling better, TC. Glad you are going to be seen Monday. Hope your doctor can come up with a solution, other than surgery.
    Take care. Thanks TomCat

  5. 4:19 Remember they’re not dawgs but wolves, TomCat.

Cartoon: And more to come; nothing has happened on that front in the past three years, has it?

MSNBC: Australia, like so many other countries, has a right-wing government that may no longer be openly denying global warming and climate change, all in order to stimulate coal production and sales, but has done zilch to do anything against it.  In fact, it has tried to keep children from taking themselves from school on the last day before a two-week-long school break by denouncing them as truants and some schools planned vital tests on that day. The kids went anyway or staged their own demonstration at the school:

Students in the remote Northern Territory town of Tennant Creek did not go out on strike but staged a protest in their school yard which fronts onto a major highway.
I was 16 when I took part in my first demonstration but there were only a few of my age there. Kids were never before so engaged as they are now. The saying goes “Children have the future” but this generation of children knows that it will have no future unless it fights for it itself and tries to repair what we, and the generations before us, have messed up.

MSNBC: As Evan Nolan pointed out, it is necessary that Republicans in Congress speak out against Trump, even though it may cost some of them their jobs. That the crux, isn’t it. They are doing exactly what their ‘leader’, the president, is doing and that is do everything possible, but never the right thing, to stay in their seats and in power. Nothing is going to change that until elections removes them, but by then so much damage has been done one might well ask if elections would still be able to do that in a one (minority) party country.

TS: JD has already explined what my firts thoughts on this were. Trump has already been prosecuted as predident at state level, something he tried to fight in the courts before too and lost. This is just another dversion and fight for time, and something he’ll now try to take all the way to SCOTUS where Kavenaugh and friends are expected to cut him loose. All at the expense of the taxpayer, of course.

Hope your heartburn will settle down soon and you can get some sleep, TomCat.

  6. Cartoon — Yup!

MSNBC — The “kids” are turning up the heat on climate change and global warming.  If we don’t act now, there will be hell to pay!  Kudos to those finding their voices!

MSNBC — This administration and the Republican Reich are a threat to national security and, in my opinion, the real enemy of the people!  Even some conservatives like Bill Kristol seem to agree.

Salon — I like JD’s comment “DOJ guidelines are NOT binding on the states’ judiciaries.” Let the good times roll with Trump under the wheels of justice.  He cannot do whatever he wants!

  7. Thanks and Ellipsoid Orb Hugs to all! 🏈
