It’s that time of week again, and here are three excellent video clips from Sam’s show last night.  Enjoy!

Just Another Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week of Gun Violence

Sam, I have to disagree. Responsible gun ownership, properly regulated and licensed, is not a problem for countries that have that. If we take away the guns, racist Republican Ammosexuals  will become Nitrosexuals and blow people up.

A Reminder to Our Government That White Supremacist Violence is Terrorism

I’ll say it again. Republican white supremacist terrorism is the greatest threat there is to US national security and world peace.

Spring Breakers: Young Voter Edition feat. Allana Harkin

Dang! When I was a kid, spring break was only about beer and sex! Kudos to the kids!

I’m glad she finished on a positive note.

  1. Act 1 – It’s philosophicsl, not a psychological question, whether evil itself is a mental illness. If it is, however, it’s not amenable to any treatment that we know of. A better understanding and a better vocsbulary, might help understabding. But the ONE thing that’s subject to control and would make a clear difference is to change the way we treat guns legally.

Act 2 – Director Wray speaks calmly to Congress because he is well aware that many of those he is addressing ARE Nazis and he’d rather not turn their guns directly on him, thank you. He said it in a mealy-mouthed way, but at least, he said it. “Fatal. Not to mention disfiguring.” Yup. Disfigurement may well motivate more people than fatality. Counter-intuitive, I know, but I have evidence.

Act 3 – More power to these young women. They know how to use it responsibly!

  2. W/watch later on this evening.
    Thanks, Tom.

  3. I always enjoy Samantha Bee, even when I don’t agree with her – which is rare. Attacking guns is going after the branches of evil. What we need to attack is, not video games, not movies or TV, not war toys, but our gun culture. We do, however, need some form of gun control. Every civilized nation on this planet has sensible gun laws.

  4. Sam 🐝: It’s beyond disgusting that GOP/Trump put in some of their pet-peeves (if not all) in with everything else that they think could lower mass-murder numbers. Everything but guns, that is. And they rather get rid of people with mental illness than using background checks to prevent those with mental illnes to obtain a gun. It’s understandable though; there wouldn’t be many Republicans with a gun licence if their

Sam 🐝🐝: Of course, a government led by white supremacists, or deeply indebted to white supremacists, is not going to undertake anything that may undermine white supremacy, like showing how murderously violent they are.

Sam 🐝🐝🐝: Young, first voting, women rule!

  5. Sam 1. No ifs or buts about it, we do need some sort of gun control.
Sam 2. It’s really a shame to have tRump who currently loves to fuel these white supremacists with all of his evil words that he tweets or speaks each and every day. He needs to stop all of his evil rhetoric once and for all.

  6. The guns that are problematic are the assault weapons. They were banned once and need be again. They are the weapon of choice for mass shooters. They are designed for one purpose only, rapid killing of other humans. There is zero reason for them to be available to anyone outside the military, maybe LE, but no private parties. If someone wants to shoot one, rent one at a range and shoot. They can’t be used for hunting, the bullets can actually travel miles. There is no justification for them being in civilian hands. Just none.
White supremacist groups are a clear and present danger. There have been 23 mass shootings this year already, eclipsing the total for 2018. This is not a problem that is going away. Well, not until the demographics cause the country to become less than half white. Even that will only drive these groups further underground. That there are no laws in the federal code addressing this issue is horrifying. The “arguments” of the right are ludicrous. Really, they boil down to that clip of Rush saying “we’re not the terrorists, they are”. Pthhh. I got sent a link yesterday by an idiot I know claiming that the new movie “The Hunt” is liberal elites hunting conservatives. It’s not, of course, it’s not even a new idea, people hunting other people. It is a sick fucking idea and I wish that people would just stop making inane, stupid, harmful dystopian movies at all. It’s not like this fire needs MORE gasoline poured on it.
I admit I’m an outlier. I was a poli sci major, pre-law, and extremely politically motivated when I voted in my first election in 1972. For George McGovern. I’d been in the army a month when Dr. King was assassinated, four months when Bobby Kennedy was. Those events, and the times, and my predilections had me highly motivated. I don’t think the current times, nor the political climate, nor the ridiculous events of the last decade, particularly the last four years, have done anything but energize young voters. I’m surprised that anyone thought so. I think this particular group eligible for the first time in 2020 is as motivated as those of us who came of age in the 1960’s and early 70’s. I hope that makes all the difference in the world because for the first time, Trump is right, we DO need to make America great again and undo all that he and his band of idiots have done.

  7. Thanks, Hugs, and Amen to all. 09
