Yesterday Portland Pride Parade passed one block south of the CatBox.  WWWendy and I were so busy at the time, I could not get out to see it, but I did have a friend marching.  Here are three pictures and the complete 2+ hour video.  Of course, I realize you don’t have time to watch the whole thing, but you can skip around in it to get the flavor.

  1. It’s very cool to have something in the lead article that doesn’t either terrify us or make us furious. I’m sure you could have done that – but thanks for the break!

Edit: I just had to add this link (from George Takei) because it is so touching and real.

  2. What a great day!!! and having fun!
My BIL attended the one up in Minneapolis, he loved it !!! But, then, …the Twin Cities know how to party!

  3. I stand with the LGBTQ community as a Straight Ally.

  4. Glad the parade went off well. With no problems. Great photos.

  5. PSA (Probably already known – but in case not):

In a YouTube video, is you click on the cogwheel Settings button, you can change the Playback Speed – either slow it down or speed it up.

The max you can speed it up is 2x – but for something like this I doubt it would be critical.

    • Cool. Good to know.  When I am looking a point to start a long video at in order to share a particular thing, I usually use my mouse to push the time counter forward (or back when I’m getting the precision.)  So I’ve never tried that.  I’ll have to now.

  6. Looks glorious!

Here in Aldergrove, BC a pride flag on private property was taken down by city officials.  When the mistake was noted, the city returned the flag and apologised.  Apparently a neighbour complained.  And in Ladner, BC, a pride flag at the Ladner United Church was vandalised twice in one week.  It is now a police matter.  Hate lives everywhere it seems.  Both Aldergrove and Delta are part of the Lower Mainland, on the south side of the Fraser River . . . Bible thumping country.

    • Glad the LGBTQ community acquired the Rainbow Flag as their symbol.

Sad to see even some Canadians are so filled with hate they feel threatened by it.

  7. Thanks and Hugs to all. 23
